ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Saturday provided insight on “SportsCenter” on how the league views the Patriots’ decision with the third overall pick. He believes New England would be happy with either Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye, but the belief around the league is it will draft the North Carolina product.
As for a trade down, the Patriots haven’t received an offer “that would wow them or move them off that pick.” That information came five days before the draft, so there could be a team that makes a last-ditch effort to get their guy.

1) Bears: Caleb.
2) WFT: Daniels.
3) Pats: Drake.
4) Cards: Marvin.
5) Chargers...this is where it gets interesting. Do we love JJM enough to move up one spot? Do the Vikes? Or we do sit tight @ 6 & take Nabers or Rome?

I think you're spot on with the way it'll unfold.
They would likely be on the clock with their choice of McCarthy, Nabers or Odunze.

Sit tight. Chargers won’t trade. JJM will be there at 6.
Then work the Titans/Falcons/Bears for extra picks and take JJM at 9 😊

If that is how it falls I would go McCarthy.

There’s no action in the top 5. I still maintain that is best case scenario for NYG.

Despite everything that’s been said and rumored, I could see there being no action in the top 5 because teams at 1-3 all need QB’s while teams at 4-5 could get their pick of the top 2-3 players in the draft without making a move.

Yep.

My guess is this is how it plays out. And I'm so SO curious to see what they think of McCarthy. I have a feeling it's Nabers in that scenario. Such an interesting draft.
Joe needs to stand his ground. If someone jumps up to take a QB at the very least he gets the #2 non QB on his board. If Arizona trades Schoen most likely gets his #1 non QB.
Then if a QB is there at 6 the Giants can either take them or trade back a bit to get more picks and still get one of the 3 WRs.
The pivot point for the Giants is what does NE do at #3. If they choose Maye, then take your highest rated WR or drop a couple of spots for additional draft capital.
There is no consensus from people in and around the Pats org. The owners want a QB as the face for the franchise. JJM was the guy they wanted. However that has been met with considerable push back. I am assuming that JJM came in lower on their draft board to justify being the 3rd pick in the draft. I'm curious how this will play out. We might see some football ops people leaving right after the draft.

I'm beginning to think there is a real chance there are no trades in the top five. At that point, the Giants should take JJM/Maye at #6.
It was notable in Wolf's pre-draft news conference Thursday how decisively he pushed back on the narrative that the Patriots' roster isn't set up to support a rookie quarterback, likely because that has primarily been what he has devoted the past three months to doing.
A quarterback drafted at No. 3 doesn't necessarily have to play right away, but the selection would spark much-needed hope for the franchise."

I think if JJM goes 3 then Minnesota will trade up for Maye at 5 if we don't make a move at 4. I think if Maye goes 3 there's a good chance JJM will be there at 6 though.
That's why we trade with AZ if we want the QB.

I'm just not sure that Arizona and San Diego want to trade with anyone. (I'm assuming that New England does not.) Arizona has a ton of draft capital and may want to guarantee that it gets the #1 WR on its board. San Diego also needs a WR or an OT and would miss out on the remaining two of the "big three" WRs and Alt if they traded with the Vikings. They could trade with us, but why would we trade with them if we know they don't have any other suitors? And if they do, it's presumably a "godfather" offer that would require us to massively overpay just to move up one spot, which I assume Schoen wouldn't do, even for one of the "big four" QBs.
What would be really interesting is if JJM/Maye get to #6, and instead of taking the one who does, the Giants "auction" the pick for their own draft haul. The reaction here would be epic.

If LAC highly value Nabers then I could see that. I don't think they are sticking at 5 to take a RT though. They could move down and get a solid RT in fuaga or Latham, plus all those extra picks. I do agree that there's a good chance they love Nabers or Odunze enough, or maybe AZ is in love with Nabers and then LAC would surely take MHJ. Harbaugh has never traded down in rd1. He tends to target a player or two and not budge on his conviction. So, I could definitely see that happening. A player like Nabers or MHJ with Herbert would be the biggest instant help to their offense.
