“The NFL's investigation into tampering charges against Falcons for involvement w/ Kirk Cousins and Eagles for involvement w/ Saquon Barkley could reach a conclusion as early as this week.
The discipline is likely to involve draft picks and is expected to be more severe for ATL”
The Cardinals tamper with Ganon and the Eagles benefit by swapping picks. The Eagles supposedly tamper with Barkley and the result is just the Eagles losing a pick? Why don't we benefit?
get any compensation out of it, unfortunately. Only solace is that Eagles may end up forfeiting a pick.
That’s not necessarily true. I’m drawing a blank on the teams involved, but the NFL flipped their 3rd round picks this draft due to tampering charges. Flipping picks wouldn’t help the Giants, but maybe flip our 4th for Philly’s 3rd? Sign me up.

One small correction. The NFL didn't decide that. The Eagles and Cardinals worked on that and once an agreement was made between the teams, the NFL allowed it.
I’ll see your 50 and 70, and raise you a 22.
If SB was the face of the franchise, as we saw in so many NFL promos, and the Giants were wronged, the Giants should be award a 2024 Philthy pick, and not a 4th round comp pick.
But alas….
He turned down multiple offers from the Giants. Forced the Giants to tag him rather Jones.
Should have let him walk a year earlier.
Now can dance behind the Eagles line for 2 yard losses.
I never drank the Barkley kool-aid the writers spewed.
anyone remember historical examples of what this compensation may look like offhand?
A different situation, but the Cardinals were found guilty of tampering when they hired Gannon from the Eagles. They swapped thirds (so Eagles moved up 28 spots) and then the Cardinals received the Eagles 5th rounder this year. A very unique compensation.
The Giants should get their pick. Instead the Eagles just lose the pick? To what end? To benefit the entire NFL?
The Giants were wronged. Giants S/B compensated. it's stupid
The counter-argument is that the Giants are not the sole injured party. As Barkley was an impending free agent, all NFL teams were injured by losing the opportunity to negotiate for his services.

Thanks for that Robbie, in that case, I don’t see Philly agreeing to anything with NYG. Maybe the NFL will use that transaction as precedent?

I highly doubt it. In the Gannon situation the tampering occurred during the season, specifically in the period between the conference championship and Super Bowl. The Eagles specifically were harmed because Gannon was distracted by negotiations when he was supposed to preparing for the Super Bowl.
If the Eagles had tampered with Hampton mid-season, the Giants might rightfully be entitled to compensation.
