If there needs to be some hard fouls to send him to the line, so be it.
We are not hitting the offensive boards as hard and Hart and Divo keep blowing by their guy only to have it stripped from behind. Happened 3 or 4 times already.

And they are fouls most of the time, just aren’t called.
He’s overpowering Hartenstein, and seems to have to work more to do anything against Mitch. Can’t let him just keep doing whatever he wants when IHart is out there.
he had Hart wide open a couple of times and he took the shot instead of kicking it...If Hart keeps hitting threes they wont be able to double you, so keep feeding him..
in connection with Jalen Brunson? This team wins 35 games max this year without him. Yes he’s struggled this series, but my goodness, how about a little slack for the guy who carried you all season.
Sixers turned up their rebounding focus tonight...they played extremely well. But with game on the line when under pressure...habits show up. Knicks get the loose balls and rebounds in the clutch..Sixers not. Great team win tonight. This roster construction and culture is pretty damn special.
I didn't see the TNT feed, as I was watching Breen/Walt
He kept calling timeout, but there was only one problem: The Sixers weren't in possession of the ball. He was too focused on the ref to see what was happening.

Credit where due, Embiid and Maxey were monsters tonight. Until the end
Hart’s discipline as Maxey was coughing it up was impressive - he made absolutely no contact with Maxey, plucked the loose ball, and found Divo - lightning reactions

Yup, would've been easy to jump in going for the ball, potentially commit a foul there.

They can fix whatever they think, but the Knicks can turn around and kill them in an entirely different manner. Superior coaching is the difference.
I love this team! That being said, tell me other star players aren’t going to want to come here after that - with Knicks legends sitting court side going crazy for the team. Do other teams have that? Amazing how things have changed for the Knicks!!! What a culture they have built.
How much shit did he get away with? Easily could have gotten 2 technicals and the boot tonight but the refs didn’t think his forearm to the face of Hart was worthy of it…
He said he watched the replay to double check...not great character move coach...lying to the press instead of admitting you froze and failed to call a time out after the score.
The refs let them flat out hold Jalen without the ball several times throughout the game. It was an overly physical game, but no fucking way the Sixers have a case for getting screwed

God I hope we sweep these fuckers. Rangers always have a great turnout when they play against the Flyers. I hope Knicks fans take over that fucking building and mock Embiid in his home arena.
RE: RE: I didn't see the TNT feed, as I was watching Breen/Walt
and now they whine and complain when shit dont go their way, sounds like the makings of a soft team, this series is far from over but it feels like Embiid is grasping at straws because he knows his team is deflated

Bwahahaha, for what!??! Good, do it. Won't be worth a hill of beans.
the defensive numbers with/without Julius Randle. They lack some offense without him, but the defense feels significantly better without him too. Pretty much every player they put on the floor is an absolute hound on defense

I thought of Julius tonight too. He woulda done something to fuck up that final sequence. But we miss him for the first 45 minutes of every game. That is always the conundrum with him.

Actually I thought this year he was Finally starting to show discipline/will power to defer to others with better shots late in games....before he got hurt
Nurse thought about calling TO but then he literally pulls back after having second thoughts. His body language said it all. It was like, "Timeou.....on second thought". Then he decides to FIRMLY call timeout but by the time it happens, the ball is already in Hart's possession.
Philly is admitting they cant handle the physicality the Knicks are playing with and want the officials to over officiate and clal more fojls but meanwhile on the other end dont call anything so they can continue to push and grab Brunson to stop him
Not surprised 76ers are filing a grievance. I remember Morey doing something similar when he was with the Rockets, doing like an audit on the officiating.
Lebron can go away now, calling the game rigged after his team blew a 20 point lead and then saying he watched the end of Sixers vs Knicks and it proves his point..
Go away dude, your team is not good enough, the refs had nothing to do with you blowing a 20 point lead
Had a lot of fun at the game - I literally could not believe

around January and it's making the game much more fun to watch. It really feels like the league is moving away from the LeBron era where flopping drove over officiating. I'm good with the product as it's been played since this change.
There wasn't anything egregious about the officiating last night. The officials are allowing contact across the board. Philly needs to stop foul hunting and flopping and just play the game.
They made some great points. Isola pointed out when Lowry was shooting the fts up 4 you have to sub Embiid out there. It's clear he can't or won't move at all so get a guy like Paul Reed in there when you're up 2 possessions. He'll defend and rebound way better than Embiid and you can platoon and go offense/defense there. Frank backed this up comparing how Thibs took Brunson out for Deuce after DD hit the 3 to put us up. Also 2 unbiased guys wholeheartedly agreed that the officials got it right there not granting the timeout when Maxey fell down.

LeBron is and always has been a cunt.
Funny he doesn’t whine when he’s the beneficiary of a bad call which he’s been a million times.

I'm still confused on the timeout situation because I could have sworn Breen was saying Philly had no more TO's unless I'm just misremembering due to the flurry of activity inside 1 minute.

Yup. They kicked it into the fairway for him for years
and MSG was insane. Building was shaking after the comeback. Once you exit, 7th ave is ridiculous (and probably borderline dangerous). Saw only a small handful of Sixer fans - probably the fewest visiting fans I've ever seen at a sporting event. Couldn't even hear DD after the game when they talked to him because the crowd was still going crazy.
with the whining about the officiating. It's one thing to publicly criticize the officials after a game deciding play like we had in Houston, but publicly criticizing over a flat out lie (the timeouts) and marginal, non influential plays is a very bad look. I understand what they are trying to do, but the league has not altered their officiating style since January.
If I were Philly, I'd stop being pussies and figure out how to play the game without relying on the officials. Obviously, I hope they don't do this...
OK obviously its Philly I don't have the hate for the Sixers
and their fans the same as the Eagles & Flyers but they are Philly fans and those same duchebags prbably root for the Eagles so here goes if you wanna enjoy some instant kharma... Link - ( New Window )
It's amazing how different Breen and Clyde are when it comes to being homers. These other cities they basically are wearing cheerleeder skirts and waving pom poms in the booth... Link - ( New Window )

Nurse knows the Sixers just threw their 2 best punches and still lost, he knows Embiids knee can give out at any moment, he knows Brunson can erupt at any moment and he knows the Knciks havnt even played well..

the whining kind of hides it but Maxey and zembiid are really fricken good, Maxey is a damn good player and will be a star..
Embiid is playing on one leg and putting up 30 points..I wonder how much shit they are pumping into that knee, by the 2md half he couldnt run up and down the court..I hope for Embiid's sake this isnt a RG3 situation

Agree with you. And the Philly announcers aren't even the worst of them. They're annoying to me, but some of the local affiliates are just... unlistenable. If that's a word.

it's one of the first things I learned back when I used to have league pass. Other hometown announcers are basically cheerleaders and it's a really bizarre listen. Going back to Marv and Andariese and now with Breen and Clyde, we've been lucky to have guys who tell it like it is. I could do without Wally though, lol.

was saying to my son damn we go the wrong match-up. Indiana and Orlando look like they're in way over their heads and this hilly team fights. Lowry is a pitbull that all he does is knock down big 3's and as you said Embiid and Maxey are absolute stars that can be unstoppable. We've shot 40% or under both games, Brunson with probably the 2 most inneficient games of his career. Somehow we're up 2-0. Thank Hart, Deuce , Mitch, DD and IHart. Btw thanks to Tommy Beer pointing this out- This is the Knicks rotation right now:
DD 17th overall
Brunson: second round
Hartenstein: second round
Hart: last pick first round
McBride: second round
Mitch Rob: second round
Bogdanovic: second round

That was cringe. Reminds me of when the Mets beat the Phillies down in Philly two years ago twice at the end of the game after being down big, especially the first one where they were down 7-1 in the 9th and Kruk was talking ish.
if it comes out after the season is over that Embiid has to get surgery again on his knee, the way it gets worse and worse as the game goes on tells me they are shooting that knee up before games and as the game goes on the effects start to fade...
It me or is the “fuck Embiid” stuff kind of lame? He’s a great player, playing on a bad knee and it’s not as if he’s lifelong rivals with the Knicks or some dastardly character in Knicks lore.

I don't see him as any sort of villain. Just an opposing player who's a former MVP that can no longer stay healthy.

It started when he shoved Brunson at half court for no reason in game 1 and it continued in game 2 because he keeps shoving people after the play..
He even kicked Mitch in the nuts, dude is a dirty player who flops all over the court

He's a great player to be sure and I give him credit for being out there obviously in pain and limited. But he's also a huge fucking whiner who hunts fouls and pulls a bunch of half dirty extra curricular bullshit after plays.

I was watching w/ my 16 yr old son and at first I didn't know what they were chanting. My son told me they were saying the F word followed by Embiid. I'm sure my son has heard the word before, but I would say the fans could try to be a little more creative.
I think the word is used a little too much these days. I even see it on T-shirts and bumper stickers. Sign of the times I guess (not good imo).

agreed. It's the nonsense behind the play or after whistles that gets annoying. It's obviously done one purpose trying to bait other guys. He's a great player but he also plays the heel role great as well.

Sure, I'd prefer we be "better than that", but in the moment watching Embiid foul hunt and quietly push our guys around, I was calling him much worse while sitting on my couch. I can't fault the fans in that crazy atmosphere doing what they did.

well fucking run at him and make him defend the lane. Maybe the backs off, maybe he gets in foul trouble.
I hate the 3. It's the basketball equivalent of HR/K/BB.
The horse has left the barn with that one. Good teams shoot a lot of 3's in today's game. Celtics led the NBA in 3's taken per game, followed by the Mavs, Kings, Warriors and Bucks
"It’s worth noting that some fans believe Embiid has been battling an eye issue, which may have increased his sensitivity to light. The 76ers center was seen wearing sunglasses during Monday’s pregame shoot-around after appearing to struggle with vision problems in Game 1’s 111-104 loss. All guys developed and improved by Thibs
This x1000.
I know the Thibs sniping will never change in here when we're losing. The endless complaining about every sub pattern minute by minute. However I'll also never give up stanning for him. The guy is an excellent coach and has set up a sustainable winning culture here for the first time in 20 years. By the way his subbing patterns and performance has been maestro like the first 2 games. He has had to navigate around his all NBA PG shooting 16-55, He rode Mitch game 1 when he was a game changer on Embiid, but 32 minutes was the most Mitch had played since December so you knew he'd have to count on IHart more last night and it played out exactly like that with him bouncing back with a vintage IHart performance rather than Thibs giving up on him. Listen he's not perfect. No coach is. His strength isn't necessarily drawing up a great offensive play late and for my money Spo is a better all around coach but Thibs is damn good and we're lucky to have him. He has brought out the best of every player on this current team.
But he has been criticize for his conditioning for years. This is his typical playoff mode. He can't play 40+ minutes when teams are pushing on him all game and playing playoff basketball.
Go back and look at the other playoff series same bullshit comments, cheap shots, and looking spent in the the 4th quarter.
Some players are not built to play with intensity and in big moments he is it.

Yeah I'm tired of the media breakdowns/lecturing of the drunken bro's on 7th avenue. They're a bunch of young guys having a good time and enjoying this Knicks team. God bless them. If we turned the clock back to '94 I'd probably be back out there again with them like I was then lol.
Embiid somehow makes me think about the fact that Cousins prime was probably a few years too early. In the Embiid/Jokic era, I think Cousins could have been one of those guys. Injuries and attitude sure didn't help.
to adjust in order to get the offense going. Hart is not going to keep shooting like this. They have to try some lineups with 4 shooters and a center to spread things out. We're too easy to defend with Hart and a center out there for the WHOLE game. Their center can't move and they have two old guys (Batum and Lowry) out there for much of the game. Make them defend.
Nurse has nothing to complain about Timeouts - ( New Window )
Either way, as close as that was, Nurse should have been emphatic to try and sell it, Thibs would have been going out of his mind, not a little MAYBE tap.
Great angle here of the last play. The only foul I see is Maxey
pushing Hart to try and get open. The fact that the Philly Crybabies are going to file a grievance with the league is hilarious. Seriously, maybe they need to look in the mirror as to why they always choke in the playoffs. The whole organization from Morey on down blames everyone but themselves when they lose and it clearly permeates throughout the whole org. Link - ( New Window )

Seriously. There's also like a split second between when Maxey *might* have possession when Nurse calls TO before he loses it. I don't know how you can expect the refs to see that, they're not machines

Unclear on the difference but I guess this isn't an "official" protest. Sounds more like they are trying to get the refs to call game 3 in their direction.

Morey did this when he was in Houston during a playoff series I think in 2019 or 2020. It backfired badly
Monica not stepping on the action at all and Pat O'keefe not losing himself in all the frantic action, keeping his head and describing it perfectly and then letting Monica rif afterwards. That was a broadcasting clinic.

I saw that in real time and was shocked it wasn't called. He starts with arms bent and fully extends them to push off. It was blatant and obvious.
That said, I don't know hoe there was no whistle on either team over those 20 or so seconds. I love Hart recovering from that to grab the ball off the floor.

Said it the day he was hired. Program builder. You can question his substitutions or player stubborn loyalties, even that seems a bit over the top at times, but you can't question his ability to build a program and develop NBA talent. The guy knows wtf he's doing and is absolutely the best HC we've seen here since Pat Riley. And Thibs is loyal. Credit due to Rose and this front office for recognizing what a downtrodden franchise needs first and foremost and that was a program builder. They needed a guy who has the gravitas needed to push grown men that make more money than the HC makes.
I said it to my brother last night. I have never loved a pro team more than these Knicks. Not the 86 Giants. Not the 96 Yankees. Not the 94 Knicks/Rangers. I will die on any hill for this current Knicks regime/team. Gladly. So happy with where they stand as a franchise. Knicks are right where they belong, the apple of NY's eye. Beloved by Knicks nation. Feared and annoying to the rest of the NBA. Not sure where this run ends, could be in a week or 7 weeks, but I can't be happier with their effort and overall place.
although there's no doubt the Knicks franchise has been unlucky and at times even ridiculed or held in contempt by the collection of NBA star power that seemed to get off on it. Moribund comes to mind as well.
the whining kind of hides it but Maxey and zembiid are really fricken good, Maxey is a damn good player and will be a star..
Embiid is playing on one leg and putting up 30 points..I wonder how much shit they are pumping into that knee, by the 2md half he couldnt run up and down the court..I hope for Embiid's sake this isnt a RG3 situation
was saying to my son damn we go the wrong match-up.
OG: 23rd overall
Precious: 20th overall
Nobody who even sniffs a lottery...
All guys developed and improved by Thibs

Great points about Thibs and the program.
RE: I could swear Philly was out of TOs at that point.
Lebron can go away now, calling the game rigged after his team blew a 20 point lead and then saying he watched the end of Sixers vs Knicks and it proves his point..
Go away dude, your team is not good enough, the refs had nothing to do with you blowing a 20 point lead
He never called the game rigged or anything close to those words. He complained about the replay overturn on the Russell play, which was debatable.
Then said he watched the end of the Knicks game and "What are we doing?", nothing more specific.
The complaint was to the competence of the calls (or non-calls) with no suggestion of dishonest intention.
You can criticize him for even going there, but that's it.
supposed ceiling is *probably* capped with Julius unavailable but it sure is nice how different players have stepped up over the 2 games. Brunson sure is lucky his worst back to back games of the season (coming in the playoffs no less) = Knicks still up 2-0.
-Not looking too far ahead to the off-season but will be interesting to see how they look to add some more scoring, while still adding a player/players who fit the Knicks culture/system.
-Interested to see what happens with Rokas. He's going to play in SL again this year but has offers to remain in Europe with the expectation he plays in Latvia next season if the Knicks don't bring him over.
RE: RE: I could swear Philly was out of TOs at that point.
And it is not clear Nurse is actually trying to call one.
He frantically tried to call a timeout....after the ball was already loose, because he knew he screwed up.
Frankly, a guy with as much experience as Lowry should have known to call the TO before the inbound.
No doubt re: Lowry. Nurse had his hands over his head, but is he trying to call a TO or something else? Irrelevant anyway, as Maxie didn't have possession anyway.

I think this is somewhat a product of the 2nd half they had re: injuries. A lot of different guys had to step up and there was no way to rely on any 1 player night for stretches. This team is prepared for nights like they've had the first 2 games of the series.
Initially, I wanted to say this team reminds me of the 90s Knicks teams because of the grittiness. But, this team is different in that, even with a star in Brunson, they aren't 100% reliant on him the way those teams were on Ewing.

As follow up, since he was specifically criticizing the replay center, his reference to the Knicks game could have been about the overturn that went in the Sixers favor.

Yep Rokas is very intriguing but also a total mystery. Good to know the Knicks have all the flexibility needed. So many good contracts and all those picks. If the legendary(or borderline) player is available we will get him. Comforting.
Calling timeout before the inbounds is not an obvious way to go
in that situation because it gives the defense a chance to set up. We've all seen the Knicks struggle mightily to get the ball inbounds against a set defense.
That's why Nurse initially hesitated about calling the timeout. He was hoping they would get the ball in quickly and the Knicks would have to foul.
Barkley said after the game that you want to call time to get the ball to half court. That's certainly true if there are only a couple of seconds (or less) left, but with a ton of time remaining, as it was, not so clear.
As follow up, since he was specifically criticizing the replay center, his reference to the Knicks game could have been about the overturn that went in the Sixers favor.
I thought this same exact thing. There's no way he had watched the last frantic few minutes of the Knicks game because they started there game immediately after. Because replay was the issue and the Lowry play happened about 15 minutes earlier he easily could have been referring to that.

He's complaining b/c they didn't get a call. I guess he's not happy with a +500 free throw differential on the year and feels they are entitled to more FTs going forward.
How about you don't blow a 15 point lead for the second game in a row. There is no standard to a foul being called or not, just like holding is subjective to the official in the NFL.
Game 1 and the 1st half of game 2 he was bottled up, forcing shots and not really getting good looks..
In the second half he started seeing some daylight, i dont know if the Sixers changed up a little to get a body on Hart and try to stop his 3 point shooting rebounding, but Brunson started getting better looks and looks he usually makes..he was still 4 of 15 but he also had 5 asissts in that second half...
It could be a good sign he started finding more daylight
"$2,000,000 guaranteed, fully guaranteed late 6/28/24"
Need to know how far it takes them into the tax/apron to keep him and re-sign OG and iHart. If the tax/apron rules were not an issue it would be a no brainer.
"$2,000,000 guaranteed, fully guaranteed late 6/28/24"
His contract is a cap filler, he will either be traded at the draft or his contracted will be guaranteed
This
The Knicks were looking for guys with 2 year deals so they could have guys for filler/trade value next season.
Front office has been very smart about their approach.

I think at this point the only other salary on the team that could be moved with Bojan is Randle. I guess Mitch, if you resign Hartenstein. It's going to be a real interesting offseason, hopefully we don't have to think about that for a while though.

Brunson missed a ton of shots he has made all year, that's why I think this is temporary.
They have taken Away his pivot game and they are blocking his shots from behind obviously something they saw that they could take advantage of.
I initially had my doubts about a potential Brunson/Mitchell backcourt but I think I'd go for it. He raises the ceiling and I think both guys are smart enough to make it work. But who do we give up? I'm guessing BB + McBride + picks is not gonna cut it, lol. And why wouldn't they demand guys we don't want to trade (DD, Hart)? I guess you can talk about Randle and Mitch - but they're obviously set with bigs so it would have to be a multi-team deal. And they're not gonna want "assets". I think they'd want to pivot and still remain competitive.

If they want Randle, Bogs and picks?
The small lineup has worked so if you get another legit scorer it would really open up Brunson.
OG at the 4 hart at the 3.

Yeah they are basically having the on ball defender co tinue to chase after being screened and then they help off Hart and Embiid standing in the middle of the court, basicall 3 guys guarding him...
in the 2nd half they tried not to help off of Hart as much
its him and Brunson are celebrating after the win and zbrunson you can see is pissed he cant make a shot and Hart hands him a ball says go shoot it...Brunson oulls up at the 3 point line and drains it and you can see Brjnson ok i can do this

I don't know it bothers me how much time DM missed this year because of the knee. I'd really check that out before making any move. I still think there could be life to the concept of a 3-way between us, the Cavs and Nets with Bridges to us and DM to the Nets with Randle and picks involved.
to be fair things are a bit quiet so I am not avoiding work, but I am just fine living in Knicks fantasy land for most of the day. And we get NYR game 2 tonight.
I appreciate the extra day of rest for the Knicks but wish they weren't playing on Thursday. As we know it's draft night. Kind of hard to watch both even with the DVR. Not to mention my 10 year old has some kind of concert at school that ends around 8. Get home and put that DVR to the test...
Philly deserves some credit for their gameplan. They are running all kinds of length at him in the form of Batum, Oubre and Harris. When he does break down the D and get into the paint, there's obviously the presence of Embiid to deal with which has been disruptive to Brunson's crafty moves inside the paint. I think the rest of it (shooting, turnovers) is just a product of how unbelievably hard he's having to work.
I don't worry about Brunson though. Like I said, credit to Philly. Even with all that, JB still getting to the stripe and still hit the 2nd biggest shot of the night last night.
live on the same block as a barber shop, on the way to work today I heard one barber say to the other "don't tell me what happened in the Knick game, I'm watching the second half later". How do people #1 have that kind of self control #2 avoid the results!

Last year I was in Florida for game 1 of the Cavs series. We had dinner reservations during the game so I DVR’d it. We made it until the very end of dinner without hearing what happened, then a group of guys sitting next to us saw my son’s Ewing jersey and said “oh, a Knicks fan. Nice win tonight!” I immediately put my face in my hands and thanked him.
RE: ESPN should replace Doris Burke with Monica McNutt yesterday.
Basically implied the refs didnt call the foul because its good for the league the Knicks win and said Sixers lost the game because of that 1 missed call...
Then made a comment only the Knicks were allowed to be physical, dude really doesnt watch the games does he?

If the Knicks gave Embid a dirty look they called a foul. On the other hand Brunson never seems to get any star treatment and gets mugged constantly

The other day he laughed at the thiugh of Brunson being top 5 saying he doesnt deserve it
The league admitted they missed the push off. That happened first, and should have ended the play and given the Knicks the ball . That missed call, if made, would make any discussion as to whether Josh or Jalen fouled Maxey moot. So Philly can suck it with their “we got screwed” whining.
That Ego of his is only thing bigger than his big giant fat assed head. Shaq’s brand first, legit commentary with actual substance a distant second. The next valid and interesting point Shaq makes will be his first. Go mumble about bullshit there diesel. Dude offers nothing.
Honestly after last night the league has lost a lot of credibility
With these "2 minute reports" are they the same people that are reviewing the replay challenges back in Secaucus? I mean anyone that can look at the Lowry and Dlo replays and deam them "marginal contact" can't really be trusted on their judgement for these reports.
I'd like to go back in time to 1995 when Reggie Miller clearly pushed Greg Anthony to the ground when he "stole" the ball in the middle of scoring 8 pts in 9 seconds and nipping the Knicks in game 1 of the ECF.
This past Sat., I had the Cleveland Magic game on. Wasn't watching closely, but I could've sworn Doris was doing the game, so I muted it. Then later in the day, I put on the Knicks game and Doris is doing the game.
So I was wondering did espn fly Doris from Cleveland to NY so she could do both games or do they have someone else that sounds like Doris?
Does espn think they need someone that sounds like Doris do every game? One Doris doing games is too many!
I’m not a big McNutt fan but she adds much more than Doris ever does and she’s actually growing on me
same. McNutt brings good energy and seems comfortable in her own skin, i.e. she's not compensating and over-trying to come across as smart enough to be doing a job that's traditionally male dominated. She's just being herself.

Years ago, I had to be somewhere all day on a Sunday and was planning on watching the Giants game that night. I told people I didn't want to know what happened in the game.
It went fine all day. That night I got into my car, turned on the engine and forgot that I had been listening to the NFL network on Sirius that morning. The VERY SECOND I turned on the ignition they announced the results of the Giants game. DOH!
Normally I have to wait, sometimes it seems like hours to hear them talk about the Giants! Not that time. I didn't have a single second to change the station!
They're both leagues better than most other ex-athletes doing color commentary, especially at the regional networks.
Same here. I don't get the Doris Burke hate. I think both are great. Knicks fans seem to think Doris hates the Knicks. Meh every team's fan base has thinks the national announcers hate their team.

She's been on various Knicks pods before and has been extremely knowledgable and complimentary of the team. I think that people just don't like her because of personal bias (some people just don't like some announcers, not claiming it's more than that).
I don't hate her, but I don't enjoy listening to her. For me, it's the way she speaks (too much for one thing) and it's not because she's a woman.
There are plenty of men I don't like to listen to. There's a guy who does espn baseball games that sounds like he's got a couple balls in his mouth. Very annoying. And I don't think David Cone has a great speaking voice either.
Maybe it's just me, but Espn seems to specialize in finding announcers with annoying voices.
of the final moments of Game 2. Great to re-live it.
I have no issues with Doris - she was just the first national person who came to mind, and Monica does a lot of work at ESPN/ABC in addition to the Knicks.

It's your opinion, so you're welcome to it, but I just disagree about her talking too much. If anything, sometimes I just sit there and think that she doesn't talk anywhere near as much as some of those other color commentators.
Give me Burke 500 times before I have to listen to Stan Van Gundy once. Or Richard Jefferson. Or whoever.
But honestly to each their own. I listen to most every NFL broadcast on mute. And when I have to listen to the road commentators for the Knicks, I'm definitely muting that.

De’Anthony Melton was able to practice today and Nick Nurse believes he may be able to suit up for Game 3
So a guy who hasn't played meaningful minutes since Feb is supposed to ramp up to playoff level basketball 🏀? Your watching an all world player gassed by the end of the 3q. If he plays it's for Hield as he's been awful. Knicks need to steal one at Wells Fargo. They win tomorrow it's essentially over.

I wonder if they are shooting up his back with the same shit they shooting up Embiid's knee with
He's wondering why Herro laid the wood into Porzingis while he was bringing the ball up. I mean is this the first time watching the Hear play? #HeatCulture
Derrick White's three three-point possessions the only thing keeping Celts from being totally blown out. Terrible game from KP. Tatum and Brown started off well then faded.
Anything that makes Boston look vulnerable is good. Losing at home to Heat without Butler and Rozier qualifies.
Brunson has to let the game come to him, if they are leaving hart open give it to him and make the Sixers make a decision...
I think falling down 13 caused a little bit of the forcing from Brunson but just stay within the game, if they are showing 3 at you find the open man
Needs to penetrate and kick since they are all over him
Looks off and forcing it again. Don’t love that. Have faith he will settle in but can’t rely on hart going flamethrower from 3 again lol
Awful start to this thoigh. Need to get some momentum
Yes, I hate that fucker
Brunson really needs to get it going 2-8 to start
Come on Brunson let's go
Really would love to see how this series would be with Randle available
Not worried. We will rally.
Yup. They’re all over him on defense (as we’d expect) and once again need some other guys to get hot and fill the void
He played a lot of minutes game one.
We are not hitting the offensive boards as hard and Hart and Divo keep blowing by their guy only to have it stripped from behind. Happened 3 or 4 times already.
Nurse complained to the media, good luck getting a call
Quote:
Come on already. Call it both ways.

I mean, he grabbed Hart’s wrist.
There’s absolutely NO WAY that the sixers are poking away all of these balls with no contact. This is really frustrating.

And they are fouls most of the time, just aren’t called.
I was a bad shot but I didn’t mind the intent because he was trying to get Embid to foul again and loose his cool
We need a run before the half

id rsther see Sims, completely playibg like shit, again kills momentum with a stupid play

He is absolutrly never getting that call, he was out of control and throwing it at the rim, it was absolutely stupid
Sick of Embiid and his b.s.
Are we making Embiid work on D?
Can we win if Maxey outplays Brunson the whole series?
AMEN
Knicks are right there
Let's get him some looks
It’s egregious. Same shit as bickerstaff last year with the Cavs. Complained after game 1 and got a bunch of calls game 2
Everything so hard in this game!
This was always the hope with him, no matter how much he struggled if he can come in and give you a spark he did his job
Actually shooting us out of it with some of these wtf
I think you gotta put Donte back in
MUGGING ALL GAME
It pretty fucking insane what they’ve been allowed to do to him.
I think you gotta put Donte back in
From your lips to Thibs ears
I keep waiting for him to find his stroke, but he’s been off all night

You've got to be shitting me
Oh bullshit….stop being such a bitch
get out
Maxey has really blossomed. Good thing game one was just eeked out.
This is why he generally isn't viewed as a legit #1 star nationally. Brunson is great for this team, but he's been really bad tonight.
Its completely on Brunson, he is forcing bad shots, he has had open guys that he has missed
We can't be paying OG 40M for the regular season wins. He's useless right now.
How the fuck could you not????? Did you watch the game?
Quote:
bailed out game 1 by Deuce and Hart but he came in with a 7 point lead and has flat out sucked since coming in

Yeah Brunson isn't a batman, he's a robin.
And HOlY SHIt!!!!
SHIT
Haha, excellent
Confirming then, we didn’t just lose the series?
This team has some serious balls, that’s for sure.
Quote:
Yeaaaaahhh baby!!!

Yeah I overrracted...lol
Make sure you watch Sal Licata say how they are lucky
Man I love this team .
LETS FUCKING GO KNICKS!!!
Glad Mike and Clyde got a game like this. They’ve seen all the garbage we’ve seen over the years.

And for Kyle Lowry, the poster child Knicks killer, to be the one who missed the backend free throw, and then cough up the ball, is poetry.
This was LJ 4-point play, and the opposite of Reggie Miller miracle. Legendary Garden moment.
Bluto..in Animal House
Holy Shit!!!!
Lol
Yup saw the replay too, he’s full of shit - he didn’t start trying to call TO until Maxey lost the ball
He kept calling timeout, but there was only one problem: The Sixers weren't in possession of the ball. He was too focused on the ref to see what was happening.
I don’t think they have an extra gear, but I think going into Philly with Nurse crying and acting bitchmade is gonna make 2 wins a tough get.

Speaking of Lowry, he was hurt during the Isaiah rebound, maybe by Embiid…carried to the bench after the scrum

Maxey is REALLY fucking good. Kentucky had him and Quickley in their backcourt. They're both so similar. Such offensive dynamos.

How much shit did he get away with? Easily could have gotten 2 technicals and the boot tonight but the refs didn’t think his forearm to the face of Hart was worthy of it…

No. It was Brian Anderson
He said he watched the replay to double check...not great character move coach...lying to the press instead of admitting you froze and failed to call a time out after the score.

Bwahahaha, for what!??! Good, do it. Won't be worth a hill of beans.
I hate fucking Philly.
I thought of Julius tonight too. He woulda done something to fuck up that final sequence. But we miss him for the first 45 minutes of every game. That is always the conundrum with him.
The Sixers are losers. There are good reasons why they always blow the playoffs.

the defensive numbers with/without Julius Randle. They lack some offense without him, but the defense feels significantly better without him too. Pretty much every player they put on the floor is an absolute hound on defense

Actually I thought this year he was Finally starting to show discipline/will power to defer to others with better shots late in games....before he got hurt
The Sixers are losers. There are good reasons why they always blow the playoffs.
They are completely shook, Embiid couldnt even look the media in the eyes...
They had 2 games where they conoletely shut down Brunson and still lost..
DDV rebounded with a terrific performance.
The Knicks defense in the third quarter was amazing.
The Bogie threes were humongous.
Brunson has to be better. Now he’s just missing good looks.
Hartenstein floater game was so big in the second half. The duo of him & Mitch taking turns with big games is tremendous.
He got straight up knocked out. If you watch the replay he got hit and was out on his feet.
Probably a concussion
Bingo.
And Boggy in general. 70+% wanted to ship him out. (I'm wrong too plenty, it's ok.)
Murray with the onions!!!
Great games tonight!
The fact that LeBron was amazing late & the Lakers STILL blew a big lead & lost is unbelievable.
Petty AF.
Go away dude, your team is not good enough, the refs had nothing to do with you blowing a 20 point lead
This guy was at the game and taking pictures with people. Really funny.
Go away dude, your team is not good enough, the refs had nothing to do with you blowing a 20 point lead
LeBron is and always has been a cunt.
There wasn't anything egregious about the officiating last night. The officials are allowing contact across the board. Philly needs to stop foul hunting and flopping and just play the game.

Funny he doesn’t whine when he’s the beneficiary of a bad call which he’s been a million times.
‘The king’ lmao!
I'm still confused on the timeout situation because I could have sworn Breen was saying Philly had no more TO's unless I'm just misremembering due to the flurry of activity inside 1 minute.

Nurse knows the Sixers just threw their 2 best punches and still lost, he knows Embiids knee can give out at any moment, he knows Brunson can erupt at any moment and he knows the Knciks havnt even played well..
He is grasping at straws but this is also who he is, he is always whining, raptors fans were sick of him at the end
That's awesome!

I love how he was talking about how "you could hear a pin drop in the garden" and then the last 15 seconds of the clip he's holding his face in silence. Thanks for sharing.

I was one of them with Bogie. He’s been absolutely huge. I’m sorry Bogie.
it's one of the first things I learned back when I used to have league pass.

There wasn't anything egregious about the officiating last night. The officials are allowing contact across the board. Philly needs to stop foul hunting and flopping and just play the game.
That's a great point.
I don't see him as any sort of villain. Just an opposing player who's a former MVP that can no longer stay healthy.

Yup, Embiid’s story is a good one and I’ve always been a fan, but as good as he is he’s being a bit of a bitch in this series
It started when he shoved Brunson at half court for no reason in game 1 and it continued in game 2 because he keeps shoving people after the play..
He even kicked Mitch in the nuts, dude is a dirty player who flops all over the court
“Get that ball, get it!”
He's a great player to be sure and I give him credit for being out there obviously in pain and limited. But he's also a huge fucking whiner who hunts fouls and pulls a bunch of half dirty extra curricular bullshit after plays.
Agreed, it’s trashy and low class

I was watching w/ my 16 yr old son and at first I didn't know what they were chanting. My son told me they were saying the F word followed by Embiid. I'm sure my son has heard the word before, but I would say the fans could try to be a little more creative.
I think the word is used a little too much these days. I even see it on T-shirts and bumper stickers. Sign of the times I guess (not good imo).
Great F ing game though!

Embiid is averaging 31.5 points, 9.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds through the first two games of the playoffs."

He frantically tried to call a timeout....after the ball was already loose, because he knew he screwed up.
Frankly, a guy with as much experience as Lowry should have known to call the TO before the inbound.

Comforting.

His contract is a cap filler, he will either be traded at the draft or his contracted will be guaranteed

do we think they do with Bojan?

This
The Knicks were looking for guys with 2 year deals so they could have guys for filler/trade value next season.

"$2,000,000 guaranteed, fully guaranteed late 6/28/24"
Keep him. OR use him as a trade chip but in no way do I think they let him walk.

Is a Knick this summer if the Cavs deal him

If they want Randle, Bogs and picks?
The small lineup has worked so if you get another legit scorer it would really open up Brunson.
OG at the 4 hart at the 3.

Game 1 and the 1st half of game 2 he was bottled up, forcing shots and not really getting good looks..

Yeah they are basically having the on ball defender co tinue to chase after being screened and then they help off Hart and Embiid standing in the middle of the court, basicall 3 guys guarding him...
in the 2nd half they tried not to help off of Hart as much

I don't know it bothers me how much time DM missed this year because of the knee. I'd really check that out before making any move. I still think there could be life to the concept of a 3-way between us, the Cavs and Nets with Bridges to us and DM to the Nets with Randle and picks involved.
Her facial expressions leading up to when she starts talking are just classic.

Right? like having watched the play you can watch that clip with the sound off and you can tell exactly whats happening by her facial expressions.
I appreciate the extra day of rest for the Knicks but wish they weren't playing on Thursday. As we know it's draft night. Kind of hard to watch both even with the DVR. Not to mention my 10 year old has some kind of concert at school that ends around 8. Get home and put that DVR to the test...
Putting the Knicks and Rangers on at the same time is bad enough. Adding in the draft would be sadistic.
I don't worry about Brunson though. Like I said, credit to Philly. Even with all that, JB still getting to the stripe and still hit the 2nd biggest shot of the night last night.
No one is worse than Reggie Miller.

+1, oh that was legendary, great call by Pat, too
Get ready for Embiid to get to the foul line 20 times next game. The only question is who is going to fuck the Knicks. Tony Brothers or Scott Foster.
Then made a comment only the Knicks were allowed to be physical, dude really doesnt watch the games does he?

If the Knicks gave Embid a dirty look they called a foul. On the other hand Brunson never seems to get any star treatment and gets mugged constantly

Basically implied the refs didnt call the foul because its good for the league the Knicks win and said Sixers lost the game because of that 1 missed call...

The other day he laughed at the thiugh of Brunson being top 5 saying he doesnt deserve it

I wish they would do a report for the entire game and talk about how the sixers fouled Brunson and the Knicks on nearly EVERY inbounds pass.
I expect a full screw job by the refs on Thursday. This is the plan for the sixers, anyway.
Sixers Inbounding Groping - ( New Window )
Brunson is going to go off on Thursday.
Brunson is going to go off on Thursday.
I hope so. We need Brunson's A game to beat them in their place.
The league admitted they missed the push off. That happened first, and should have ended the play and given the Knicks the ball . That missed call, if made, would make any discussion as to whether Josh or Jalen fouled Maxey moot. So Philly can suck it with their “we got screwed” whining.
Minny beat Phoenix again - up 2-0 in the series.
Burke is annoying this series, but shes usually great. Very knowledgeable.
Yeah, there's something about Doris.

For me, happiness is fast forwarding through the pre game and halftime bullshit.
It's like they watched different clips.
Same here. I don't get the Doris Burke hate. I think both are great. Knicks fans seem to think Doris hates the Knicks. Meh every team's fan base has thinks the national announcers hate their team.

They're both leagues better than most other ex-athletes doing color commentary, especially at the regional networks.

She grew up a Knicks fan but she also worked for MSG and was fired, so i thinknthats part of it

She's been on various Knicks pods before and has been extremely knowledgable and complimentary of the team. I think that people just don't like her because of personal bias (some people just don't like some announcers, not claiming it's more than that).
Knicks for example have 1 star, so it doesnt sound like she likes your team
There are plenty of men I don't like to listen to. There's a guy who does espn baseball games that sounds like he's got a couple balls in his mouth. Very annoying. And I don't think David Cone has a great speaking voice either.
Maybe it's just me, but Espn seems to specialize in finding announcers with annoying voices.

If he starts it takes Lowry out who has been playing really well..
Coming off the bench it probably benches Hield who can get hot from 3 although he has not played well

I wonder if they are shooting up his back with the same shit they shooting up Embiid's knee with
hahaha thought the exact same thing
Derrick White's three three-point possessions the only thing keeping Celts from being totally blown out. Terrible game from KP. Tatum and Brown started off well then faded.
Anything that makes Boston look vulnerable is good. Losing at home to Heat without Butler and Rozier qualifies.
But the four year extension is a major gamble. He'll be 34 before this year's playoffs end. Non-factor tonight.
