NFT: Registration date question

Fast Eddie : 4/22/2024 6:59 pm
I know Ive been on this site for longer than the listed 2005 date. I don’t remember exactly when but i swear it was in the late 80’s or 90’s. It’s no big deal but Ive always wondered about this
Haha. Late 80s?
TDMaker85 : 4/22/2024 7:02 pm : link
You sure it wasn't late 70s? We were trading punch cards through the mail.
Btw I started in in 1996

But somehow registration got reset in the 2000s.

BBI was best read on the original papyrus scrolls though.
2005 was when the login feature was introduced.

Before that, some people would post hysterical rants under the names of other posters. It got out of hand and the login feature was the remedy.

Personally, when I first found BBI Dan Reeves was the coach. Not sure what year that was anymore.

Login feature was introduced in 2001, NOT in 2005. But existing posters still had to register to post.

It's possible that Fast Eddie (and others) posted prior to the 2001 registration date, but didn't register until some time after 2001.

I remember

Back before the registration people would post as anything and copy people's names.
Pete's Corner

Was eventually renamed to the present corner forum.

Latter 90s for me when I was watching games at 7 a.m. from Oahu.

It was wild west back then but more civilized. If the old forum format was around now... forget about it.

I lost my original log in due to not logging in.
September...

Thanks for the correction, Jim. I just checked my ID and it indeed shows 2001 as the date.

But i remember Pete's Corner. And there was also a time where there was even a section for letters to the editor.
1999ish for me...
IchabodGiant : 4/23/2024 10:02 am : link
read Pete's and Letters to the Editor every day.
Reset after website hack
elpeces : 4/23/2024 11:08 am : link
I'm pretty sure the user name database was hacked around that time, or something to that effect. Everyone had to register again. At least that's what I remember.
Same here
River Mike : 4/23/2024 11:45 am : link
I was posting at least a couple of years before the log in. Met Hope, Shnitzy, and many others up in Albany.

Mine is August, 2001.

I was here from the start, including when it originated as the Big Blue Home Page. That was probably in the mid-90s.

Funny thing is, I'm still not old.
Francessa was a favorite name to post under
TJ : 4/25/2024 8:41 am : link
and after expressing a football opinion the poster would say something about eating a pile of cheeseburgers or some such. It was stupid but I laughed anyway whenever I saw it.
