1. Chicago Bears | Caleb Williams, QB, USC
2. Washington Commanders | Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
3. TRADE: Minnesota Vikings (via New England Patriots) | Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina -- One rival source I recently spoke with said they would be stunned at this point if the Vikings didn’t plow their way into the top three and treated it like an inevitability. Maye checks a lot of boxes and could be the solution for a decade in the Twin Cities.
4. Arizona Cardinals | Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
5. TRADE: New York Jets (via Los Angeles Chargers) | Rome Odunze, WR, LSU
6. New York Giants | Malik Nabers, WR, LSU -- The run on wide receivers is here, and the Giants are leapfrogged for a receiver I think fits their profile slightly better than Nabers. I will say this: If there is a receiver who could drop and leave everyone wondering why, it might be the LSU wideout, who was outstanding in college but may need to find the right fit within a building. Still, this is a prospect that is too intriguing to pass up.
I believe in the argument that J.J. McCarthy is a fine option here, especially if he can sit a year, but the Giants are trying to win now. I would think that Drew Lock offers more upside over a two-year period as a spot starter-developmental prospect alongside head coach Brian Daboll than McCarthy. But … that’s just me.
I could see this happening. Would suck to miss out on Maye and be jumped by the Jets so the Giants only have one WR to choose from, even if they liked Nabers in the end.

Yeah, I am not getting that feeling either.

I think he maybe he's inferring that comes from ownership.
If they don't trade up, and JJM and Nabers are both available at #6, it will be very interesting to see what happens. I still think they would take Nabers, but they might well trade down.
Makes no sense. If anything, a TE or defense would make them a better team.
I would take JJM as well. He's my 3rd rated QB behind Maye & Caleb.

exactly - this is just wrong.
I also feel that the Giants will trade out of #6 if they do not want McCarthy and he is there when they are on the clock. I'd want him...
But to move back a few spots, pick up some additional premium picks(including next year #1) is fine with me. Take Penix or Thomas or a CB...

I'd take McCarthy over Nabers, but I'm probably in the minority with that opinion. I'm so over and done with Jones under center that I think I'm jaded. There is nowhere to go but up at this point. Rip off the band-aid.

+2.
I would run for JJM.
If they draft a receiver, then why not? The offense would be better than most expect.
Whatever they do, I'll get behind, but with a hopefully upgraded offensive line, and a good receiving corp, I don't think it's as gloomy as most here.
Why should his job status be tied to how they perform in 2024 if they don't draft JJM? They shouldn't draft a QB just to draft a QB. That would be stupid. And as stated above I personally like JJM he's my #3 ranked QB. But if they don't think he's a franchise QB I don't want them to take him.
Schoen could want to move on from Jones as soon as possible and not draft a QB.
Or Daboll having Locke reach his potential in a single season and beyond (at least 2 in a row)
Harrison is an incredible WR but if you want explosion and separation from your WRs and Daboll sure seems to prioritize that, Nabors is your guy.
How about this nightmare scenario. Lock starts the season because Jones because Jones is not physically ready yet, and Lock then gets injured. Tommy Cutlets is back in the saddle again. How inspiring is that going to be.
I think they're always trying to win now, which is part of the problem when you're as bad at self-evaluation as the Giants have been.
My preference is 6 but it isn’t the only option.

Because that would take some rationality.

Same. Take JJM at 6 if he's there and Maye's gone.
This dude's body type is small and fragile. IMO he will not last long in NFL.
