Draft - Compensation to Move

Somers24 : 4/23/2024 11:43 am
This is a question, rather than a comment.

What do you think the draft compensation might be for a move to RD1, pick 2-5?

I love the draft but never got my arms around the points associated with draft trades.
I don't

see how the Giants move back into the 1st round from #47 unless they give up a ton. I don't see this happening.
For #3

#6
#70
2025 1st

Or
#6
#47
2025 2nd
2026 2nd/3rd
Picks 1-3

Will require 2025 #1. To get to 4, all about outbidding Minn who would offer two 2024 #1’s but AZ would miss out on the top 3 wr’s. AZ is our best option to secure a QB ( most likely JJ) without giving up next years #1- in my humble opinion.

Looking back on it, that trade from the Vikings wasn't bad. Pick 41 and 2025 2nd for pick 23?

play up to snuff ....
Gotta remember
Pepe LePugh : 4/23/2024 12:02 pm : link
the competition to move up. Move to 2-3 you not only have to make it worthwhile for the trading team, but you’re bidding against the Vikes as well. It will likely take at least 6, 47 and a future first to get in on the conversation. Move up to 4 not happening for less than 6 and 47.
Why include pick #2?

Washington is purportedly all in for Daniels. And as if they would trade with a division rival to set them up for a potential career starter at QB who would be a pain in the ass to play against twice a year, every year?
The inherent value

of trading #6 vs something like #11 is not to be ignored. There is a chance NE or ARI has a player they covet and can get at 6....not so with 11+. There is real value in that.

The Giants traded 37, 132, and 142 for number 30 in the 2019 draft.

Number 47 and 70 could presumably get them into the end of round one.

Agreed. It cannot be ignored. But it’s also not an overwhelming advantage. Not when the teams at 7 and 8 have declared themselves open for business, and a team trading down for 11 and 23 and whatever else could likely trade back up for 11 and a #2. They likely still get their guy, and come out ahead.
