Synopsis
- Giants connected most with Maye
- QB stuff not smokescreen
- Nabers might be a pain in the ass and remind them of OBJ
- If QB's gone and no trade could see Rome Breer on Eisen - ( New Window )
It's not some fait accompli that Odunze will be a high character guy throughout his whole career and never conceivably cause issues. Plenty of high character guys (especially at WR) eventually exhibit a diva mentality or prove high maintenance in some regard.
And if you look at the top WRs in the NFL for the past 10 years, it's littered with low to questionable character guys. The key thing to me seems to be work ethic. That's what primarily sank Kadarius Toney and more recently, Kayshon Boutte. But if you're an asshole with a work ethic? It's not going to dissuade me too much, I hate to say. Know I'm in minority here.

Of course there are no guarantees but by all accounts Rome's character, intelligence and work ethic are top notch. If the grades are identical or nearly identical and they feel that Nabers doesn't check those boxes and/or has other red flags then it makes sense that that stuff would push Odunze over the top.
Seems to be a new take on Giants taking Odunze over Nabers
but another clip of the same interview where he says Arizona not trading their pick until they're on the clock. Breer on trades and Ari not trading until on clock - ( New Window )
This seems to be an obvious move by both Cards and Chargers.
There is no reason for them to trade now. It lets other teams plan accordingly.

Totally, agreed. But personally I think Nabers' tape and NFL projection is far, far better than Odunze's. If you have a cluster of players, absolutely let character be a big part in deciding between them. For me though Nabers is in an entirely different tier.

They’d be crazy not to do this. Get on the clock and see how desperate teams are to move up. Making a deal before the draft would be ridiculous.

You wonder if they would be amenable to the idea of instead it being when the Patriots are on the clock instead. That's the only way that three way trade would be possible.

Giants still stirring the pot to keep everyone guessing.

Sky King, if you don't mind me asking, any new updates from your Viking friend? Are they still on Maye then Penix?

Yep.

Texted last night. Still Maye, then Penix (without a trade up).

Thanks for the info. So it is possible that JJM can be had at 6, unless NE takes him at 3 or Den goes all out to trade up with the Chargers at 5.

I don't buy it, but what do I know?
