In major needs of weapons too. I don't see it. Especially passing on Harrison Jr.
A lot of people think they take an OL or trade down.

Harrison and Nabers.

The Vikes would be boxed out of trading up for one of the top QBs in this scenario. The Chargers (I almost typed San Diego) would then have to be almost forced to take a WR. Arizona could swap with the LAC (going from 6 to 5) by giving them one of their two 3rd round picks in case the LAC feel the compulsion to make some kind of deal.
The change I have noticed is people now suggesting the Pats may want McCarthy instead of Maye. If the Patriots prefer Maye then we are not getting him.
I noticed that too. The Chargers lose their two top receivers and their $100 Million + QB has nobody to throw to. I think the Chargers go WR at the five spot.

like a light switch went on in the last 48 hours with Maye to the Giants.

Yes, but there was a delay in people connecting the dots with the Pats and McCarthy for some reason.
48 hours ago. "Giants don't have the leverage to move up for a QB. They will be "stuck" with one of the wide receivers" or "Giants may trade up for McCarthy."
24 hours ago. "Giants are trying to trade up for Maye."
Today. "Pats may prefer McCarthy."
The Giants connections to Mayes and his perceived fit make it a good educated guess if you want to throw it out there.

Feels like the NE liking McCarthy buzz could also be smoke from them to get better offers for #3.
He is now my favorite mock!
The Vikings desperately want Maye. The two teams are trying to outbid for him.
If Patriots draft Maye, that makes things a little bit easier for the Giants. Either stay at 6 and take Odunze or trade back and get a shitload of picks from the Vikings, including multiple early picks this year and a 1st next year which might likely be high.
Schoen is in a good spot. He can say we landed our hand picked franchise QB to grow with in Maye, or we just became a hell of a lot better football team with all of these picks.

wouldn't we have been able to get Maye but just sitting at 6th in this scenario. AZ takes Harrison at 4 and the chargers take Alt at 5.

If the Patriots want McCarthy, then the Vikings are in trouble and the Giants know it.
No way NE drops to 11 and expects to get McCarthy. They can try to trade back to 5, but then why tempt fate that some team with better capital prevents that.
