Another indication that the Pats thinking McCarthy

Eric from BBI : Admin : 4/24/2024 9:48 am
Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerESPN

The sense after asking around is that Patriots have Williams-Daniels-Maye as their expected order at 1, 2, 3. But had one league source broach this last night -- 'I think people are discounting the Kraft-Brady-McCarthy connection in all of this.' Could be a thought for a trade-back
Kraft wants JJM.
Optimus-NY : 4/24/2024 9:53 am : link
He's gonna get him, be it at 3 or in a slight trade down.. I don't see the Pats picking Maye. Tawmy is prolly in Kraft's ear about his fellow Wolverine JJM too.

ryanmkeane : 4/24/2024 9:54 am : link
I sing understand the Brady-McCarthy thing. Just because they both went to Michigan? How is JJ McCarthy related to Tom Brady at all?
Impeccable logic by Kraft
jeff57 : 4/24/2024 9:57 am : link
Brady went to Michigan. McCarthy went to Michigan. Therefore, take McCarthy.
This place is so dumb

What a load of horse poop.

Might as well read the astrological signs to figure out 1-5. Eric, stop with this madness.

What's crazier? Me posting this, or you being upset with the site, but continuing to open these threads?
There are a lot of Brady like qualities in JJM
UberAlias : 4/24/2024 10:02 am : link
Word was he blew teams away when they got a chance to sit down and talk Xs and Os with him. His leadership qualities are well publicized. It boils down to his being a much safer more stable pick than Maye. Kraft probably not blown away with some big arm type. He wants a guy whos smart executes well and who is a leader for a building team from ground up. Maye was literally telling recruits if you're here to party, don't bother. We're here to win a national championship. That's all got to resonate for Kraft, in contrast to Maye who is much more boom or bust.

Of all the things youve seen on BBI, this is the madness that broke the camels back?
I'm bad at reading tea leaves but here's my guess with NE
Andy in Halifax : 4/24/2024 10:09 am : link
They don't actually prefer Maye to McCarthy. Kraft wants QB and after Williams/Daniels they have McCarthy. But Wolf wants to trade down. So they are working very hard to convince people they need to trade up for Maye and give up a treasure chest to do so and also convince Kraft its enough to make it worth it.

Eff them I say. Sit tight and let them take McCarthy.
this is as dumb

as gettleman liking Jones because he had the same coach as Eli.

What part is so dumb? I have zero idea what your issue is here but man must be nice to live in your world where this was such an upsetting moment.
I have to say
Andrew in Austin : 4/24/2024 10:12 am : link
that this draft is more fun than the season was last year! Full on drama, conspiracy theories, feints . . . this could be a miniseries . . .
The funny part....blaming Eric instead of Fowler.
George from PA : 4/24/2024 10:12 am : link
Eric is just forwarding someone else point.

Certainly enough smoke of Kraft wanting JJM.

Agreed, although I assume you meant JJM and not Maye when talking about recruits.

I'm no fan of Kraft but we can't attack his logic until the thing speculated in the tweet actually happens. The tweet is not reality. We'll know more tomorrow night, but for now Kraft loving JJM because he went to Michigan is just a rank speculation
Three points for ThreePoints

1) An old axiom seldom followed these days is "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it!"

2) When you point your finger at someone, there are three more pointing back!

3) According to the Bible, the tongue is the most difficult thing to tame.

This site has been operated for a very long time by Eric. You need to appreciate this site for what it offers. Taking pot shots at Eric serves no useful purpose whatsoever. It simply shows you have no respect for Eric and this site and a tremendous lack of appreciation. You need to take a look at your own motivations and purpose to denigrate the owner of this site. Why?
Didn't they just get rid of Mac Jones?

If Pats take McCarthy
Sy'56 : 4/24/2024 11:15 am : link

BW can vouch, it may have only been in email to him. I didn’t totally buy it then and not sure I do, but crazier things have happened.
I think if Kraft squints, he sees Brady

Thank you Sy for stating the obvious. Then again no one on this site would ever be stupid enough to suggest that an NFL team would take a player with the 3rd pick primarily because he went to the same school as a former star player.

He's a safer pick. There's a reason a lot of legit football minds have JJM ahead of Maye like Sy, Mueller, Simms and others.

To be fair, reportedly Davis Webb and Tommy DeVito will blow you away with Xs and Os too.
