On Draftmas Eve, what are your final predictions on what will happen with our beloved New York Football Giants tomorrow night? And if we trade up/down, what will be the terms?
I predict, based on a total gut feeling (and some asshat scoop from BBIers) that the order will go:
Bears - Caleb
Commanders - Daniels
Patriots - Maye
Cardinals trade with the Vikings - Vikings take JJ McCarthy and the Cardinals take Brian Thomas Jr. later on
Chargers - Trade, Alt or Nabers
Now, it does make a ton of sense for the Chargers to go MHJ: Harbaugh played with his dad and had essentially a front-row seat to Marvin Harrison Jr. in college. But a few things have given me pause: #1, they have a "big" WR in Quentin Johnston. Perhaps they opt for the explosive guy in Nabers. Couple that with the notion that Nabers is reportedly WR1 on some teams' boards (Chris Simms: "An overwhelming majority of NFL people I’ve heard from have Nabers rated higher than Harrison") and perhaps Nabers does go to LA. Other than that, Chargers could still build through the trenches and taking a guy like Alt, pairing him with Slater to be their bookends to protect Herbert doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.
And then we take Marvin Harrison Jr. and we punt the QB situation until next year. I just hope Daniel Jones doesn't seen an ounce of playing time.
Commanders - Daniels
Patriots - Maye
Arizona - MJ
Chargers - trade to Minny take McCarthy
GIANTS -Nabers
Jon stole my answer. Put me down for this one.
Was - Daniels
NE - McCarthy
NYG via AZ - Maye
LAC - MHjr
AZ - Nabers
YES!!
1. Chicago takes Williams
2. Washington takes Daniels, after taking an annoying long time to submit the pick when they are on the clock.
3. New England takes the entire clock to field offers, but isn't blown away by anything. Opts to take Maye rather than trading out of the pick. Minnesota tries to trade up to this spot, but the Patriots want a QB, and don't feel like waiting around until 11 is feasible.
4. Arizona, having roughly equal grades on MHJr. and Nabers, chooses to trade back with the NYG for McCarthy. They understand that they don't want to fall too far down the boards and need to secure one of the "Big 3" options at wideout. Again, falling to 11/23 won't net them MHJr/Odunze/Nabers, so they decline an offer from Minnesota.
5. Los Angeles takes Alt
6. Arizona, with the pick from the Giants, takes Marvin Harrison Jr., happy that they received additional compensation and still came away with the WR1.
Was - Daniels
NE - McCarthy
NYG via AZ - Maye
LAC - MHjr
AZ - Nabers
This makes the most sense if the Giants trade up.
Schoen gets his QB, improved the 2nd round pick and gets an additional 1st in 2025!
One can dream!
Who they draft--Nabers
Hard to be disappointed if either happens
1. Chicago Bears - Caleb Williams
2. Washington Commanders - Jayden Daniels
3. New England Patriots - Drake Maye
4. Arizona Cardinals - Marvin Harrison Jr.
5. Los Angeles Chargers - Malik Nabers
6. New York Giants - J.J. McCarthy
Was: Daniels
NE: JJM
Cards: MHJ
Vikings trade up for JJM (or Chargers take Alt)
Giants: Nabers
I don't think the Giants actually like JJM, I think that was smoke so even if he's there they pass.
Ummmmmmm.
Yeah....Who wants to be the one to tell him?
2. Daniels Wash
3. Maye NE
4. Harrison. AZ
5. Nabers, SD
6. Giants trade down
WAS - Daniels
NE - Maye
AZ - Harrison JR (no way you pass up on a guy like this at 4)
SD - Nabers
NYG - Odunze
I think JJM is the lost man out. Could be wrong, but I'm going based on what I see. I've watched him almost every game and no way do I see a top ten pick. He may be the goods in the end, but I see a glorified game manager. I don't see any sort of gunslinger in him whatsoever. Not a fan of his throwing motion. I've said this before, he's the type of QB who needs everything around him in place to succeed, rather than a QB that makes everyone better on the field. He makes great throws, but there is a lot to be desired on most. With all the holes we have, especially weapons on offense, it would be a disaster for his development if he touched the field in 2024 IMO.

3) Beebe
Bears - Caleb Williams
Commanders - Jaden Daniels
Patriots - Drake Maye
Arizona - Marvin Harrison Jr
Minn (via Chargers) - JJ McCarthy
Giants - Odunze
Crazy conspiracy theory that the Giants have coveted Marvin Harrison since the Fall and have done everything in their power to push him down via leaks, including the latest about Penix:
Bears - Caleb Williams
Commanders - Jayden Daniels
Patriots - Drake Maye
Minn (via Cardinals) - JJ McCarthy
Raiders (via Chargers) - Michael Penix Jr
Giants - Harrison Jr
Commanders - Daniels
Patriots - Maye
Arizona - MJ
Chargers - trade to Minny take McCarthy
GIANTS -Nabers
Ibeleive they should try everything as humanly possible to get a QB but in the end I don't think they will with the 1st 6 picks.
Was: Daniels
NE: JJM
Cards: MHJ
Vikings trade up for JJM (or Chargers take Alt)
Giants: Nabers
I don't think the Giants actually like JJM, I think that was smoke so even if he's there they pass.
Sorry this should say NE takes Maye.
^This. The price is our #1 next year. Straight up.
Obviously QB is a *HUGE* need. I don't know squat about scouting. However, I would think Schoen has discussed with his staff, the 2025 QB scenario. It is a definite possibility (maybe even a likely possibility) that they feel both Maye and JJ are better than anyone available in 2025.
WFT - Daniels
Pats - Maye
AZ - MHJ
Bolts - Alt
Minny - JJM (trade with NYG, who get #11 and #23)
#11 - Penix
#23 - favorite WR still there
WAS - Daniels
MIN (via trade) - Maye
AZ - Harrison
NE (via trade) - Nabers
NYG - trade down
I have no insider information and haven't been following other teams closely, but here is my reasoning:
-If NE really likes a QB enough to pick the QB at 3, then they have to love the QB. And if that's the case, they wouldn't trade down or waste time putting out signals that they will.
-MIN has come too far already and is close enough from a roster standpoint to justify an overpay for the right QB. NYG has too many holes, and they just watched a QB with not enough around him struggle mightily.
-I feel more and more like someone will jump the Giants for Nabers. If NE gets a huge haul at 3, they can give some of it to SD to come back up to 5.
-It's hard for me to accept that NYG sees JJM as that much of an upgrade over Jones that this is the best use of the draft capital (Scmeelk's comments about JJM as a thrower make me concerned), unless Jones really is so badly hurt that he's not the same player he was in 2022 (which is possible). Is McCarthy on a rookie deal > Jones + Odunze? I have no idea and will trust whatever the team decides.
Just not sure Vikes could not have better offer. Going back 2 spots, not bad - but even at 11 There would be plenty of defensive help and that's what Cards need most.
Quote:
IMHO Chicago takes a qb because Justin Fields is just terrible. After that my prediction is teams will draft players!
Ummmmmmm.
Yeah....Who wants to be the one to tell him?
He's wrong about Fields being terrible.
He'll be replacing Russell Wilson by Thanksgiving.
2. Daniels
3. Maye
4. Harrison Jr.
5. JJ McCarthy (Vikings trade up)
6. Nabers
WFT - Daniels
Pats - Maye
AZ - MHJ
Bolts - Alt
Minny - JJM (trade with NYG, who get #11 and #23)
#11 - Penix
#23 - favorite WR still there
This is very realistic IMO.
1. Williams - Bears
2. Daniels - Commanders
3. Maye - Patriots
4. Harrison - Cardinals
5. Nabers - Chargers
6. Odunze - Giants
.
.
11. McCarthy - Vikings
It’s either a WR or QB at 6, my guess is it’s Nabers. The Pats were only going to trade if it was super lopsided and no one bit so they took Maye, the cards take Harrison, the Chargers take Alt, Giants take Nabers. The Vikings wind up with McCarthy at 11. Nobody really wanted him.
including the SD pick....I rule!
