Personally I think Maye could be smoke and target is JJM

bigblue5611 : 4/24/2024 11:58 am
There were those reports from Hughes early (kinda) on and I want to say one or two more from others(?), then supposedly word was Schoen was upset with Hughes about that leak. I don't think I saw what some were saying here, but that Daboll looked uncomfortable when asked about the JJ interest/leak. I could have this wrong, but I feel like the trade up/down, Nabers, Maye, etc stuff started coming out after the Hughes stuff. Then there was GoDeep's post about the Giants wanting McCarthy and this week it's all about Maye and very little, if any, on Giants and McCarthy, though I did see a mock on The Athletic with Giants taking JJ at 4 after a trade (6 and 2025 2nd) to Cards.

Who the hell knows, but it's going to be a long 32 hours...
so none of the other

QB draft threads could contain this?
I think McCarthy has been the biggest X-factor

since the end of the season. Just a few days ago, there were reports Chicago was considering him.
It definitely could be but I like action over words

and the Giants spent more time and resources on Maye than anyone else.
Weren't you just saying they don't like JJM anymore

Because he demanded to have his private workout on Easter Sunday? Where did you come up with that? If Schoen is really hoping to get JJM for little more than pick 6, I'd say that would be a masterful job if he got it done. I could see this being true. Nevertheless, the Maye smoke seems to be too thick for there to be no fire. Once you're deep into trade up attempts, it's hard to keep it secret.

Perhaps, Schoen is good with JJM for less if he can't get Maye. I think the interest in Maye is very real though and it's becoming clear he is their top choice.

I thought it was pretty equal between the two? Could be something I missed with Maye...
It's a Rorschach test

Everyone (myself included) is seeing something different, base on which QB (or other prospect) they want.

Nope, that was not me on the Easter Weekend comment.
I really hope not

Let someone else overdraft McCarthy.

Oh my bad, well yeah I agree this is possible. We do have other asshats saying we have no interest in JJM too. It's anyone's guess right now, only thing I can say for certain is Schoen has done a great job this year with the pre-draft smoke vs fire shenanigans.

I think they attended more of Maye's games.

No worries. And on the meetings with the two, I was thinking more of the direct meetings, not scouting the games. But yeah, believe they attended 6 UNC games?

Thibs has an attitude problem and there is no way they are drafting him.
Regardless of which QB the Giants draft
ZogZerg : 4/24/2024 1:50 pm : link
Beats will claim the Giants really wanted QB X.

Just to keep getting clicks...
