I have so many worries that Maye and JJM are the next versions of Trubisky and Mayfield for any long line of boring qb's that couldn't handle the speed of the nfl game
If we could somehow get J Daniels he'd be the most exciting and upside laden player the Giants have had since LT
*I know he's not a sure thing, no one is, but it's a bet I'd love to take
How about this for a hypothetical? Let's say NE takes Maye. What if NYG takes McCarthy with the intent of working out a trade almost 20 years to the day of the Eli trade.
What if the Giants want Maye, but they would be happy taking JJ (either in a slight trade up or at 6) and then the Pats take JJ.
Good news that Maye is still on the board, right?
Actually it could be bad news (if the Giants want a QB) because Maye's availability at 4 (or 5) makes it far more likely that the Vikings would sell the farm to move up.
That means the Giants either have to overpay for Maye or they lose out on the QBs altogether.

I really don't see it happening though. JD is the much better player right now, he's thr legit #1 in most other years. I will be sad to see him on the Commies.
Don't fall in full bloom love. This draft provides several QB options, and their plans should include alternatives.
^This. Don't chase the QBs or get into a bidding war with another team for one. I would take one at #6, or perhaps with a small move up to #4. But if they are all gone by #6, then take one of the WRs or trade down and take Nix or Penix, or punt the decision until next year.
be shocked if the Commanders took Maye, but assume at that point the Patriots will take Daniels. That would still leave JJM on the board at #4, just as if the Commanders had taken Daniels.
Kingsbury is pounding the table for Daniels, and while reports have said Quinn prefers Maye, is it by enough to overrule your OC? We’ll see, but I think Quinn will defer to Kingsbury in this case.
If it does happen,I think NE stays at 3 and takes Daniels. So we’ll see how much NYG likes JJM, or if Minny will move mountains to move ahead of us. I would think in that case that Minny would have to give up both of this year’s #1’s and next year’s first. That will be a tough offer to top.
is showing Daniels and/or McCarthy falling to 6 more often than not — at least when I run it. This is a new trend in their algorithm. A few weeks ago, that wasn't the case.

There was a rumor the owner preferred Maye, and another one that Daniels was having cold feet about Washington.
I hope the giants stay put at 6. We will get a QB or WR but again

Disagree, that means you believe other quarterbacks are equal but Giants clearly do not think that.. Now it becomes just take a QB and you are now drafting position not player...
Giants have shown major interest in two guys- Maye and JJM, and most likely have equal or better interest in Williams and Daniels- players they clearly feel are out of reach...
Is high. I think Kirk Cousins is his floor. Definitely an above average starter with the potential for greatness. His character and preparation will not let him fail. Plus athlete, plus arm.
lol
it's the only prop bet I made. Daniels with pick #2.

We are going to take McCarthy at 4 or 6 I believe.
4 QB draft.

That's no longer allowed.

Did Glazer actually report the Pats are staying at 3 and taking Maye? I didn't see that if so.
Only thing I saw was that they like Drake Maye. Which that's a lot different then him saying they're drafting him.

Pats will stay at 3 and take Maye. In your scenario Eric I assume they would just pivot and take Daniels.

I was saying they'll stay at 3 and take him based on Glazer's report that they "like him a lot". It's in the Glazer thread from yesterday evening.

So??? Better off

No to McCarthy, I would rather take Nabers if no other top tier QBs are available. JJM is a throw away pick.
The only thing that would be better is if the Commanders pull a Viking and forget to make a pick...for about an hour.
