If the Giants can’t get up to No. 3, it really feels like their draft hinges on their evaluation of JJ McCarthy.
• Do they like him enough to trade up to 4 or 5 to ensure they get him?
• Do they like him enough to take him if he’s there at 6? This would be the most fascinating. Would Schoen really be willing to take the risk of getting leap-frogged at 4 or 5 if he believes McCarthy is worthy of 6? He traded up last year because he didn’t want to miss out on a corner when picking 25th.
• Do they like a WR more at 6?
I wish I could provide a definitive answer to these questions, but McCarthy has been the wild card throughout this process.

I fully believe it will be Williams-Daniels-Maye as the top 3. And New England is taking Maye.

nah too much NE wants JJM or a trade out noise for them to just stay and take maye.
There has been tons of smoke that NE doesnt like maye or they love JJM or they are fielding offers.

I am not too worried about that. If the Pats take a qb and then AZ goes WR the Giants could make a trade (3rd round?) with LAC to move up one spot. LAC would still get their guy and some candy.
The only way we lose out on all 4 QBs is if Denver or Minn sends a huge package for a trade. Both have said they won't overpay.

It all depends if the Giants want both Mayes and McCarthy. They might only want 1 of the 2 and won't care if Minny jumps up for McCarthy.
They can beat any deal Minnesota makes to get to 5 if they want to.

You haven't heard one word of Washington or Chicago entertaining any offers to trade #1 or #2. All we've heard are NE trade rumors. If they were locked into Maye we wouldn't be hearing this. To try an entice a too good to refuse offer? Come on when has a QB hungry team ever been desperate to drum up a great offer rather than simply take their guy?

Eff that if Schoen knew NE wanted JJM they don't get JJM plus pick 47. They can take 70 and 107 max and that's only if AZ is OK with 2025 2nd.
Would more likely be we trade direct to 3 and use our negotiated deal with AZ (which was probably contingent on JJM being there, not Maye hence a more reasonable cost) to allow NE to make the same trade with AZ to 4. Essentially it's a 3 team deal, but we would first go to 3, NE to 6, then NE to 4 and AZ to 6.
