With the relentless vitriol directed at Daniel Jones on this site I'm reminded of an old joke.
A Brooklynite walks into a room with a loaded gun with two bullets and in the room are Hitler, Mussolini and Walter O'Malley. What does he do? He shoots O'Malley twice.
A) He never had it to be star QB and he should not have been drafted in the 1st round.
Or:
B) Giants have been such a dumpster fire as far as the surrounding cast and coaching that we ruined any possibility of Jones fulfilling his potential as a star QB.
Whether the true answer is A or B, it doesn't really matter. Neither option turns the Giants into a contender with Jones at the helm, especially when you consider his health (two neck injuries and ACL tear) can best be described as unreliable going forward.
For whatever reason, it hasn't worked out and tonight is our best chance to move on from him with a promising rookie QB. Now that promising rookie QB may also be a bust, but it's high time we found out. The good news is rookie QB will have the benefit of a hopefully rebuilt OL with some young weapons in Robinson and Hyatt, along with a coaching staff that was intimately involved in the building of one of the league's top QBs in Josh Allen.

That was a bizarre press conference
People on this site have ripped on players like Evan Engram and Kenny Golladay and other Giants all the time and nobody gets upset. Make the same type of comment about Jones, and you are a miserable person who hates Daniel!
So freaking odd.
Unfortunately injuries got the best of him...mostly because the oline was simply atrocious.
But thats football you can put all your eggs on a QB with two neck injuries and coming of major knee surgery.
