I've been keeping notes in my BBI profile, but I think I'm done at this point. Feel free to post corrections/additions.
If I'm not too lazy after the draft, I might do a post-draft scorecard. Although you can see the asshat reports have started to merge as we inch closer to the draft. I really should have dated the notes but oh well. Profile links included so you can see the latest activity.
Here it is:
GoDeep13:
- NYG will move up to #3
- NYG loves JJM
- NYG willing to trade up, but will not surrender 2025 1st. They really want to keep #47. They would part with #70 and a day 2 pick in 2025 or player.
- NYG wants to trade down for CB Mitchell or DT Newtown/Murphy if JJM, Nabers, and MHJ are gone at #6
- NYG Daboll loves Nabers, will take Nabers at #6
- NYG would pass on Maye at #6, use him as trade down bait
- NYG would look to trade down if Odunze is there at #6
- NYG will not trade up from #47 to take Nix, but might for Penix if they go WR at #6.
- NYG will get a QB in the first round or not at all
- NYG will trade for a veteran WR if they get a QB in the draft
- NYG likes Ladd McConkey
- CHI takes Williams at #1, WAS takes Daniels at #2
- Pats like Williams, Daniels, Penix, Nix in that order
- MIN wants to trade with NE at #3 to take JJM over Maye
- NE prefers MIN picks over NYG picks in a trade
- MIN likes Maye, just not as much as JJM
- LAC wants Joe Alt or JC Latham in a slight trade back
Rico:
- NYG Maye at #3
- NYG has a deal in place with ARI to move to #4
- NYG originally believed to be going for Maye or Daniels, but JJM is now a possibility
- NYG is NOT sticking with Jones and trading back to fill more roster holes
hitdog42:
GiantGrit:
- NYG wants Maye if he gets to #3
- NYG wants Odunze, not JJ at #6
- NYG leaning Odunze over Nabers at #6
Peppers:
- NYG JJM is "a real wild card"
Rickey213 (new but proven hits):
- NYG is moving up to take a QB
- WAS takes Daniels at #2
- NYG talked to SF about Aiyuk
- NE 100% takes Maye or JJM, will only trade down if they can be assured of still getting one or the other.
- NE will either take JJM or trade down
Woodstock (new):
- NYG wants Maye, do not want JJM
Sky King (new) https://corner.bigblueinteractive.com/index.php?mode=5&handle=Sky+King:
- MIN all in on Maye
- MIN fallback is Penix, not JJM
- NYG views Nabers as a potential problem personality ala OBJ
Stars_and_stripes (new):
- NYG and MIN prefer Maye
- NE prefers JJM, lukewarm on Maye
- NYG and MIN both trying to trade up with NE at #3, NYG has the upper hand (see below)
- ARI will be involved somehow in the trade to ensure NE can land JJM after trade down. ARI targeting a receiver.
- NYG surprise player may be included in the three way trade somehow.
- Burns trade was consummated knowing NE's needs in a trade up scenario
- NYG likes JJM too and would move up to #4 if Maye goes #3.
Giants1986 (new):
Agreed!
Someone will be a Giant tonight that wasn't a Giant before.
I think he announced that he retired from asshattery a few years ago — that it was too much work — but he was awesome.
Gotta love BBI!!!
By "new" I just mean new this year, or at least to me. Some of them line up pretty well to what we're hearing from the proven guys, but I'm just waiting until the draft is over.
The Giants1986 one I'm actually not even sure if he's an asshat or just talking. He said it matter-of-factly and did not elaborate.
Love your handle too, lol. I do remember Widmer's unibrow!
I'm looking forward to the After Action Report tomorrow.
Deal with NE at 3 off then? Good. Call their bluff if they aren't being reasonable.
I thought we had a deal in place for #3? Or did that now completely fall through?

we probably won't trade up.

Either NE got cold feet about missing out on a QB or they are upset with getting much less than they were hoping and playing up their hand until the last minute..imp
This is consistent with Schoen's history of targeting specific players and not position groups.
The big winner is Daniel Jones!

Appreciate the info even if it didn't pan out.
Every other 'hat' was a big swing and a miss.
If you're going to predict the future.....do it often.
Not because I didn't like the idea of some of those things happening, but because I don't like the idea of accurate inside information about the Giants preferences and plans being known before the draft.

Yup. And if you're more interested in getting some right than risking going for 100%, then make sure some of your predictions directly contradict some of your others. :-)

Or Kraft overrode the trade perhaps fearing he would miss out on JJM with the smoke from Minnesota and Denver?
