But IMO he's a much better prospect than Odell was. I think he's the best LSU WR prospect ever. Nabers should be a guy that averages 1400-1500 yards and 10-12 TDs a year.
Who was throwing the ball to DJ Moore, Amari Cooper, Michael Pittman, Davante Adams, George Pickens & Chris Olave last year? All guys with 1100+ receiving yards.
or even just the draft methodology if they disagree. it literally makes people nuts.
I wanted and still want a QB but more than anything I want players. we need fucking players. dogs. bad asses. Bad asses help you win games. be patient.. Build the roster.
All of a sudden the wide receiver group looks pretty damn good. It’s balanced and it’s got talent.. that’s another unit, talent wise, with less questions than answers.

Is the goal receiving yards or to win games/championships?

So if they didn't like a QB should they have just passed on the pick?
The same guy who'd have been throwing the balls had they drafted a QB this year, as luck would have it.
Yes, for one season..
We also had a toasted Eli Manning throwing to OBJ and still was the most exciting football we’ve had in the past decade. Nabers is a guy who can take a slant for a touchdown on any play. I think Jones can get it done.

I think I read 6 QBs went in the first half of the first round, or something like that.
So, all of these QBs are good enough for other teams, but not the Giants?
Because the Giants have been such a beacon of brilliance recently..

That's mighty comforting.
Even if you hate Jones and you’re desperate for another quarterback

Exactly. So I'm not gonna be up in arms about punting on it for a year. I wanted a QB badly and was really hopeful they'd land one. I recognize they tried but didn't want to mortgage the future. I'm OK with that.

Fair enough. I wish I had the patience you have. 12 years is more than enough for me. Wish I was more like you guys where I could stomach an awful decade+ and be okay with it, but I can't.
Just consider Jones a stopgap. a guy who needs things to be right to play at a decent level, but a guy you can win with if things do break right.
Drafting a nuclear weapon at wr is something this franchise desperately needed.
DJ is better than that. Things weren't great two seasons ago, but he still took the team to a road playoff win. He just needs a little better than historically awful like that OL was last season.
But I do believe this is it for him. Schoen and Daboll have done due diligence to fortify the OL. Now they've added a top notch receiving threat. It's gotta be enough for DJ or he's toast. I think that goes without saying.

I'm not OK with it lol. I have a different perspective. Certainly doesn't mean you care more than anyone else lol. I mean you admit they would've played Jones (or Lock) this year.even if they had drafted someone. Now they aren't wasting a year of a rookie QB contract, which is the most valuable thing in football.
Tonight showed me Schoen and Daboll want to move on from Jones but don't need to reset the QB position for job security. I'm good with that.
Who was throwing the ball to DJ Moore, Amari Cooper, Michael Pittman, Davante Adams, George Pickens & Chris Olave last year? All guys with 1100+ receiving yards.
To be fair, better QBs than ours were doing all that.

Dumbest fucking post I've ever read. QBs bust all the time by NFL teams. Other teams picking QBs in the top 12 is not some sort of proof they are good enough for the top 12.
I don't think any QB needy teams will be picking ahead of us and we could get a super promising QB prospect like Jaxon Dart next year while actually being able to utilize his rookie qb contract with dj mostly off the books and having a good supporting cast around him. Things will swing back in our favor, watch. Lar, no, lv, tb, PIT, sea, Dallas all will be picking behind us and there won't be any other qb needy teams. The value will align with need at our pick I think. Next years class isn't actually bad, its not as good as this historic year but there will be 2-3 1st rd qbs at least. Jaxon Dart is my early pick for the top guy and I think he will be a better qb prospect than Drake Maye and perhaps even Jayden Daniels.
the entire time. He is a legit top pick in any draft, and outside of Williams the same could not be said for these QBs. Giants took the best prospect on the board. It would have gotten interesting if Harrison and Nabers were both on the board, but they were never going QB with Williams and Daniels off the board. It was all smoke. They got their guy. If the guys accountable are fine with doing QB later, then it is what it is. My guess is now NY fans and media try to ruin another young man because they don't like where he was drafted. QB is not the only position that matters.

5 win seasons? They've won 9 games and a playoff game in 2022.
They won 6 games in 2023 with a career journeyman and a rookie UDFA at QB. If we are being honest they should have won 8 games last year.

He won't be heard from again . Jones is a career killer for HC, WR, and OL. And yet that fucker is still here.

That career journeyman is twice as good as our present starter. What was his record last year.....

He was 2-3 last year with a big win over the great Washington Redskins. Let's relax on him.

I mean you could just go just saying
He's like a hybrid of Tyreek Hill, OBJ, DJ Moore, stephon Diggs and Hakeem Nicks. He truly has the potential to be the best wr in the league.
