I'm shocked (in a good way) ...

Manny in CA : 4/25/2024 11:52 pm

The "whole world" thought the Giants were going to do EVERYTHING necessary to land a QB, in the 1st round.

Now, my feeling is Best Player Available, the rest of the way. What do you think ?
I was concerned they would give up a boat load to move up

Than I settle in....thinking NE has no leverage...if the Giants want the QB they could get him....

surprise NE actually drafted Maye.

The Giants are a better team with Nabers
Part of the success of a young QB

Is having the resources to build the roster around them. With Jones contract, losing picks to get Maye and many holes on the roster would have been a tough situation.

You can never go wrong drafting an elite player. We still have 5 picks to improve this roster. Plus there is a lot of talk that Maye needed a year to learn. Hard to take a guy that high, give up multiple picks and watch him sit on the bench.

Great pick for the Giants!
I agree 100% ...

As was noted, by somebody tonight, the Giants are TWO #1 types richer tonight - Burns by trade and Nabors by trade.

My only concern now is RB, Saquon is gone. I don't think there's anybody of that pedigree in this draft. There are other ways to mitigate this loss, for example, a power type attack, a big fullback + a good bruiser HB

I'm sorry ... correction -

Next year I see us picking far ahead of any other QB needy teams too.

And saved ourselves massive draft capital by not trading the farm for a boom or bust qb.
I see a lot of JaMarr Chase in Nabors ...

Very good in college and perhaps better in the pros.

The Giants are moving away from the workhorse back and to a committee. Singletary is the first half of the committee. They don't need someone of Saquon's pedigree, just a complement to Singletary.

Day 2 coming up they met with Trey Benson and day 3 they met with Audric Estime. Two names to watch to round out the committee.
Glad they withstood the pressure

To please the fan base by sacrificing precious draft capital to move up for a QB with a lot of question marks. Or take a QB who they did not believe was worth a top 10 pick.
