I know there are people who is happy with getting Nabers in the first round of the draft. I also see people not happy we didn't get a quarterback either. We knew it would be either one or the other with the 6 pick. We haven't had a number 1 receiver since we traded Odell Beckham Jr and it was a clear need for this team.
Going into the draft, if the Giants were able to get one of the top 3 quarterback, you bet they would had selected one of them; I believe they tried to trade up for Drake Maye, but they couldn't. People forget even if the Giants wanted a quarterback, one of the top 3 team would have to be open trading down and have to have a deal for both sides. I think selecting Nabers was the right pick and value base on how it went.
Another thing is we don't have alot of pick and we are more than 2 players away from being a complete team. If we didn't have alot of holes and had multiple picks, I can see in that scenerio trading up was more than likely to happen.
Regarding the future of Daboll & Schoen, if they did draft a quarterback they would had more of leniency; if you going to give Dave Gettleman 4 years, then you have to give these guys 2 more years and see how the team progress. Having turnover every 2 to 3 year is not going to work (we seen that from 2016 to 2021 and look how it played out). Just like any job, there has to be some stability before we reached that point to make changes. I believe in Schoen & Daboll and hoping for the best. Let's see how the rest of the draft & the offseason goes (its possible they could sign someone late).
We have to stop giving excuses to ineptness. This draft and this FA class - a good portion of it - other than Nabors has to show well. The team doesn't have to win - but let's face it-- lats year they were embarrassing. And the drafts and FA pickups have not been good.
If they end up passing on a very good QB - then how can they be trusted? Just at least show your Defense is very god - or on Offense you show some signs of having a pulse. And I don't mean when they are down 24-0 in the 4thqtr Nabors makes some individual spectacular plays for a game long since lost.

I understand where you coming from and I agree it was a terrible season last year. They didn't value the other quarterback as high especially picking at 6. Schoen did say the depth of the quarterback in this draft is good so its possible we get a quarterback later in the draft. But we all knew the top 3 and we didn't have the opportunity to get any. And yes we could had trade multiple pick including future years but we didn't have alot of pick and drafting a quarterback is not going to guarantee this team to be better. You mention if the quarterback do well in the NFL, what if they don't do well? Then in that case, its good we didn't draft them. Let see how the rest of the draft and the season goes and if we have a bad season, we definitely a quarterback in 2025. Only time will tell.

I hear what you are saying but it takes time to build a team (only including 2022 and onward). Yes we do have holes, but I think certain aspect of the roster has improve: our front seven is better, we have a number 1 receiver, on paper our offensive line looks better, and dont forget special teams. I am not sure how many win we will have, but I do think the Giants will compete. We can only hope for the best and see how it plays out.
If we are winning then it won't be empty. Lets see how it plays out.

I just want to see improvement overall in some areas and not just because our stud WR breaks tackles vs teams not very good but gets shutdown vs quality teams.
If the OL still sucks- that's a problem with the FO/Coaching too.
If the Defense gets pushed around on the run on too many occasions then that's a FO/Coaching problem too.
If the Secondary gets exposed badly and in part because of a subpar pass rush but just overall "bad" then that's a FO/Coaching problem too.
It's okay if one or two things happen but if all 3 happen and the QB is shitty (which I suspect" then what is it that they are doing?
I'm sure any team with reasonable coaching and talent that were to have drafted Nabors would make him star. SO - just want to see "a little more" from other spots.
