I wanted to create a fun exercise to pass the time leading up to tonight's selections.
The Giants clearly wanted to add Maye in the first round, but after New England selected him, felt that the upside of Nabers was too good to pass up in favor of Penix/Nix. So, WR has been addressed (at least somewhat). Where do they go from here?
If you're so inclined, list below what position the team will address in each of the following rounds. You don't have to add in a player's name but feel free to, should you wish.
Rd.2 pick 15- CB (McKinstry or Melton)
Rd.3 pick 6 - RB (Corum or Lloyd)
Rd.4 pick 7 - TE (Sinnott)
Rd.5 pick 31 - OG (Zinter, Mahogany or Robinson)
Rd.6 pick 7 - QB (Jordan or Hartman)
I tried to be realistic in terms of how far folks would fall, but obviously things are unpredictable. Who do you have this team going for?
outside of that, for rd2-3 I think:
CB2, TE, DL, S
That's the one upgrade that could be a season-changer. But everyone wants a pass-rushing DT so we are not likely to find one mid-2nd round.
DL
RB
OL
TE
In that order
Rd3 - pass rushing DT
Rd4 - RB
Rd5 - TE
Rd6 - G/C
2nd round: DT, CB, S
3rd round : OL, TE, RB
I can see them going for Benson at 47 though.
My preference is CB Meltin or DT Ruke O at 47
And RB Benson or TE Sinott at 70
sorry, IOL not OT
RB at 70
DT at 70
I contend that the Giants generally review their last game of the season and try to correct the problems that were obvious in that last game.
I did not watch their last game, but if you have recorded it, and want to risk an upset stomach by watching it, you'd have a good idea of what positions the Giants will target.
Rd3 - pass rushing DT
Rd4 - RB
Rd5 - TE
Rd6 - G/C
That would work for me.
