If they offered him to teams. Productive receiver on a cheap contract. Would be a No. 2 on a few teams. I’m thinking 4th at best, with 5th most likely. What do you guys think?
In a very young receiver room. He also seems like a guy who will be a good influence (potential holdout non withstanding)on the young kids.Maybe a team with a real need at WR gives you something decent, 4/5th rounder for him but is that really worth bumping a mostly inexperienced group up a peg early in the year when developing them is the most important thing?
At that point, is it worth it? That’s about where Slayton was drafted, and we consider that (or McFadden) about as good as it gets at that point in the draft…
I think he’s valuable as a WR4 here, and not sure trading him makes sense unless they get a favorable offer.
Furthermore he’s probably the WR2 until Hyatt takes a big step forward. I do think Hyatt will…but as of today, Slayton is their most accomplished WR.
I think the real question is why would a team want to trade for Slayton?
SF is getting 4th rd offers for Deebo
Because he’s a proven 700 yard receiver in the NFL on a cheap contract.
I think worth reaching out to LAC to move up for their #37 for our #47 and Slayton and a pick(5th?)

Deebo wants BIG $$$$...
I think GMs are divided on the value of these WRs are the insane contracts being gotten by some.
I'd rather just draft a WRs every/other year and trade the guy away that wants 30mil.
WRs are as replaceable at RBs but with a different game impact.

in the 4th or fifth round if you want. Why would you trade for one you had to pay more and is older?

He's also 27 and due a new contract next year.
What I caution is the Giants picked Hyatt at 73, and he drew 2/3 of the targets as Slayton and produced about half as much.
This might say more about Jones than either receiver, but at least for the Giants, picking a "Slayton" in the middle rounds hasn't been true.
