The upside to the run of QBs in first round last night is that it eliminates several teams from being in the QB market next year. Eliminating teams who recently drafted a QB in first round and those with established starters, looks like our competition will be: PITT, LV, and NO. If you add teams whose QBs are older, then NYJ and LAR. Wild cards are Dallas (depending on what happens with Dak), TB (how Baker plays), and maybe Seattle and Arizona.
There are others too. TENN may decide to move on from Levis, the Jets if Rodgers can't complete the season. PITT, INDY, Vegas, Seattle, Rams could all be in the market this time next year.
Anything can happen (especially w/ injuries) but of these teams, I can only see LV and NO being worse than us. Jets should be on that list too.

NO way on young. they gave up SO much for him and their roster is really bad offensively... they going to need time to build offense up to evaluate him. young wwill get a longer leash than 2 years on a shit team.
This is a great point and i was talking about this with friends last night who i watched draft with.
there wont be many if any QB needy teams picking ahead of us next season so we shopukld have a shot at a good one... even if we have to trade multiple assets and 2026 picks to move up. Our team will be deeper (hopefully) after this draft.
next year, they probably go all out for a QB as really on paper, the "last" piece
I always look ahead, especially to the QB class.
It won't be like this year's class, but it won't be bad. 3-4 1st rd QBs. Somewhere between this qb class and the Pickett class.
I love Jaxson Dart and I like Cam Ward, then there is: Ewers, Beck, Sanders, Milroe, Leonard, Allar and I'm probably forgetting a name or two. Dart is the goods and I am keeping my eye on him to have a big year.
You can't say exactly who they are yet, but chances are that a few of the teams who finish top 5 will want a QB.
But you are right. We are in for yet another season of watching draft position, debating college QBs, and pondering the cost of trading up.
If I had to hold my nose and pinpoint a guy who might interest me among the shit that will be the 2025 class, it’s probably Carson Beck.

Agreed I think Beck winds up QB1 with Shedeur up there but he won't be for everyone. If I had to pick one guy to take a Jayden Daniels like leap it'd be Milroe. Not that I think it'll happen but I think the potential is there
Well, it's not just the BBI experts. By all reports, Schoen was trying to trade up to draft Maye and was even willing to give up next years #1 to get him.
Tell me who had Daniels as a first round pick at this point last year. No one did. And no one had McCarthy as a first round pick before the national championship game. The word at this time last year was you had Williams and Maye and several guys who might be mid first to mid second round picks. Penix was expected to be a mid first rounder (or late first round). Heck, Travis, Rising (going back for a 7th season!), and Hartman were all ranked ahead of McCarthy.
Several of the QBs for next year have fewer issues with mechanics and processing and performing under pressure than Maye. Let's wait and see what another year of experience does for them.

Watch out for Jaxson Dart. I'm telling you. He's got it all and will only ascend with a good season.
Then there's Cam Ward in Miami. He was in early Heisman conversation without any help at WSU. Then there's Milroe, Sanders, Ewers, Leonard. It's not going to be bad.
I wouldn't count out ATL anymore hahaha
Here's the brutal truth. The Giants and most of the NFL draft scouts are still behind the times when it comes to what's going on in CFB.
Thanks to NIL, there are no more buried gems. If you are a halfway decent starter at a G5 school, a P5 school will offer you 5 figures to play for them. If you are above average, the offer will be 6 figures. And so on. Good luck finding that hidden player b/c the college ranks are better and more dedicated to finding them the NFL guys are.
Secondly, as pointed out by Terps and bw, WR's and CB's are the positions where the talent is gravitating towards and much easier to find NFL quality starters at. Conversely finding NFL quality QB's, OL and DE are much harder.
This means the draft value/score card everyone has been using for 20+ years is out of date. Excellent WR's aren't as valuable as even an Average QB.
- Shedeur (#1)
- Beck (#6)
- Ward (#9)
- Ewers (#12)
- Milroe (#25)
That's 5 guys and does not include guys like Dart, Allar Weigman or Donovan Smith.
Of the rest..
Ward has to overcome his corching to be viable, Milroe is average, maybe we'll see if he starts the whole season for Deboer.
Ewers, Beck and KState-OSU transfer are gonna be the top QBs and none of them were as good as the class this year.
There are others too. TENN may decide to move on from Levis, the Jets if Rodgers can't complete the season. PITT, INDY, Vegas, Seattle, Rams could all be in the market this time next year.
No way. Shit the Cards extended Kyler Murray who honestly hasn't shown hes a top tier QB. Not even close IMO. Mid level at best. . And he's had multiple HOF level receivers. Should they and Carolina move on at some point ? Who knows but Cleveland moved on from Baker and looking back maybe they shouldn't have for another BBI favorite Mr Happy ending who hasn't won shit.
I'm of the beliefs there are never more than 3-6 Qb difference makers in the NFL at all times. For every idiot who claims they knew Mahommes whims he this good there are just as many who believed that about the other 90 % of QBs who haven't been that close. Too many variables. IMO. You do the best you can but throwing Carolina in there is way too early. That team sucks and I'm not sure Theresa QB in the NFL who would win there. Last year or this
-SEA
-NO (took a flier on Rattler)
-CLE (only because of Watson contract)
-TEN (Levis probably isn't it)
-LV
-TB (Mayfield a bridge)
There are some contracts to monitor:
-MIA
-JAX
-DAL
-DET (spent a 3rd round pick on Hooker)
I think we have the worst QB situation though. I don't understand not at least taking a swing on a development guy late. And, it's hard for me to understand not taking McCarthy since he was sitting there and wouldn't cost any assets.
The question is…Will Schoen and Daboll be around to make the pick if we win only 5 games?
Milroe is waaay overrated on this board.
