They are basically kids. Same shit happened to Malik Nabers and Caleb Williams, on this very board. Speculation about character and intelligence. And the people speculating are offering hot takes based on bullshit.
No problem standing up for those players that are getting a bad rap, anyone can make a mistake. Also OK with calling out the players that are out there pulling some serious BS. Any of our recent draft picks come to mind?
he was the #28 player on the consensus board and WR5, so he fell more than 20 spots and got leap frogged by 5 WRs. McGinn is routinely the most accurate he had him at WR7 and a borderline 1st rounder.
at 6'2 205 lbs he ran a 4.34 and had the best RAS of any WR in the draft.
he's not just an athlete - he only dropped 1 ball all year in 80+ targets and scored 11 tds sharing targets with worthy and sanders. he had a productive year but especially in big games. 2 tds vs bama, 2 tds in postseason games.
so why did 10 WRs go ahead of him? and if he fell bc of BS and was an extreme value, why did IND trade back from 46 to 52 and risk someone else getting him? shouldnt they have been trying to move up for him?
(i agree with ballard's point that these are kids and they deserve some grace bc everyone has growing up to do at 21, but it doesnt seem so grown up to react the way he did, why not just put forward a defense of the kid and say "he's a great kid" instead of attacking the messengers?)
And love Mad Mel.

a few days late but why did he fall?
was the media making those picks or nfl gms?
was it the media that traded back risking someone else taking him or ballard?
