QB1 6'4" 228 lbs 40: 4.69 Strengths Prototypical combination of size and arm talent. Full-field reader with ability to scan and process with good quickness. Exceptionally quick ball-handler with sudden release. Throws with anticipation. Fearless and confident to make challenging throws down the field. Fires ropes through constricted seams Weaknesses Frustrating inconsistencies with accuracy and touch. Fires fastballs on easy, short throws when changeup is needed. Requires more disciplined footwork from the pocket. Production falls off a cliff when forced to move his feet. |

QB2 6'4" 223 lbs 40: 4.6 Strengths Ball comes off his hand with tight spiral and good velocity. Can expedite operation time and release when pressure closes in. Unquestionable arm talent to connect from challenging angles. Fearless passer with the guts and arm to whip the ball into tight windows. Weaknesses Inefficient throwing motion creates inconsistencies in accuracy. Receivers had to chase too many intermediate throws into the turf. Leaves the ball behind crossing routes and RPO targets. Inconsistent ball placement Can have too much trust in his arm talent |
I don't think we have to use his draft notes to know what kind of NFL player he is.
Could he get better? Sure. But comparing him to Maye is disingenuous. We've seen Lock against NFL defenses and it hasn't been great.
Did he though? Neither of those situations strike me as particularly good environment for QB development.

Lock is in his 5th year and has had many opportunities to seize a starting role.

And you think the Gianrs environment is a good environment for QB development? We can't develop anybody.

Well we have only tried to develop two QBs since 2004.
And yes I am not including the Davis Webbs and Kyle Laurettas that never had real opportunities to play.

Great point. That's why we didn't give up more for Drake Maye - would've been pointless.
This may be news to you but as I said in the original post, Daboll was largely brought in because of his role in Josh Allen's improvement. He might know something about the topic.

How has that gone with Daniel Jones?

I'd say that Daboll has done as good a job as can be expected.
