Over-all, I'd give them a "B+", (not what you want for a team picking 6th overall)
Round 1 (WR Malik Nabers) - A+ .... Good enough to be a Pro Bowler his rookie season
Round 2 (S Tyler Nubin) - A .... Legit pro free safety
Round 3 (CB Andru Phillips) - C .... Mystery pick for me, when there were better players available
Round 4 (TE Theo Johnson) - B ..... An excellent choice in the 4th round
Round 5 (RB Tyrone Tracy) - B+ ..... I think he's going to beat-out Singletary very quickly (I wished they'd gone for a big plow-horse type RB)
Round 6 (LB Darius Musau) - C+ ..... Good reserve type
The title is the analysts were impressed with the Giants draft class.
When I read the articles they are far more favorable of the selections than the grades reflect.
My interpretation of the analyses is very favorable.
The Giants obtained arguably the number 1 receiver in the draft, a top 4 safety, an ascending CB, a top 4 TE who has the most athletic upside, a sleeper running back, and a top special teams linebacker.
As an aside Tyron Tracy was a top 30 visit to Dallas and my colleagues who work for the Cowboys were very disappointed that they did not get him. I am told that Dallas attempted to trade up to obtain him.
And would have, if it hadn't been for Phillips. I want to be wrong because Adoree Jackson has seen his better days.
Only missing part is a good fullback. I know they used it a bit, when they used t-formation plays. I like this Tracy kid a lot, but it's all about the O-line.
If it gets fixed, "sky's the limit".
I wasn't enamored with the pick until I remembered what was said about him.
I preferred Cooper Beebe. Time will tell.
I think a C for Phillips is low
