If you recall we discussed Joe Schoen and him learning, you could tell he knew what he felt he would need to do to get the team set up for success via his interviews -esp into this draft.
The FA season really set up the draft and I Loved the draft.
I love what Daboll -who looks focused as Fuck now -said he wanted - Generators -Guys who can make it happen - on the field in order to win.. Every player they added the past few years has a certain mentality, a toughness and grit all over the squad now.. He specifically brought up the OL generating too ie -Moving the Line of Scrimmage -its been forever. IMO we are on our way.
OL OL OL -it starts and ends there.. They have now Rebuilt and redesigned the OL room -players and coaches all upgrades imo -Carmine, Ferentz, and i think Joe and Dabs will change the scouts next btw.. lets be honest there were too many misses and cant all blame Bobby Johnson but he was terrible... but ITs clear Giants OL development has been trash for awhile.. See diff btw Tyree and Neal. The Giants went into 2023 unprepared, thin, and got decimated in the first game. They had no idea what they had -which was not much after Thomas and a rookie C and health. Johnson gave no help to Neal who was lost again with no help or leadership from his RG and got hurt. Tough SOB played on a cracked ankle. This year -imo will be different. The got good veterans and added talent and toughness to depth- Lets admit the line got better at the end of the year when Thomas and JMS got healthy, Tyree came back and off the coach Pugh started, but was trash thru the end -The QB no matter who it is -cant get hit and pressured as many times as our QBs did -all 3 ended up injured without it effecting their game planning and decision making, and winning. Let Carmine Cook. He has the ingredients.
QB - I said if they thought they could get their guy they should but dont give a way the draft for an if? They tried for Maye -overrated imo - btw all these QBs are way overrated -i agree with Belicheck. but i am surprised he didnt take a QB later in the draft (Rattler) but with lack of draft capital and players available that fit the identity and need -i understand - I trust Dabs to get DJ back into the groove -is he too shell shocked? -not going to lie he looked it at the press conf, but im curious to see what happens when he realizes he can actually take a breath and start to read the field a little more instead of running for his life as soon as the ball is snapped. Also as Bill Belicheck also stated he wont have to wait long for these guys to get open now. Kafka in the NFL interview last yr said something to the effect of - its hard to call a game when your always trying to find space and time. Hopefully thats changed. For the first time in a decade i am hopeful we have an NFL line. Generators.
The WR room - we now have rebuilt the room -Nabers!!! OMG best pick in forever.. I loved what he will bring to the field and the room -dont sleep on the fact that he will elevate the others -Him Hyatt Robinson and Slay? Wow!! thats going to be fun to watch. The Giants havent had a room with this potential of breakaway speed and separation abilities in a long time. Generators!
TE room -all tough physical players added -all have ability to block and catch and i think Theo will fast become a fan favorite. But TE can be Generators too. Maybe Belli retruns to rookie form now the Waller is gone. prayers for him.
RBs - interested to see what Singles brings to it - i know one thing though -he always is on the field.. the others got a shot do something. We got grit and speed with playmaking ability too now. Yes losing Saqs hurts especailly to the eagles - but Saquon was not dependable with this tragic OL, and dont forget he was on the sideline during our biggest drives in 22 and went out early in 23. So change might be good. Moving the chains Generators.
D Defense wins championships -We have a terrific core on D. Dex, Theo, Okerekee, Baker and Adding Burns and the 2 rooks to take over the secondary along with a new DC who understands the importance of stopping the fucking Run and getting off the field on 3rd and forever. Face it this will be the best DL, LBr core and secondary we have had in a long long time. Nubin will take over S quickly imo -Phillips didnt he have to scrimmage against Robinson -possible diamond in the rough??? This is going to be a Tough D to go against if the parts come together for Bowen -and he seems to have a good eye for secondary btw.
ST Ghobs love that he put his guys on immediately.. Good attack mentality too..
Face it, Joe upgraded every coach and player -as he could- and made this a much much better team.. BTW Wink was on his way out -dont get it twisted his D was trash! Thats why he started rumors to save face, pussy. Did he get an NFL job? Another All talk Ryan guy -Fugazy.
Are they championship ready? no, but they will smack a few teams in the mouth next year. I dont see turnng off the game after the 1st qtr anymore either -yes they still need more but im going to enjoy watching it come together. Tell me you dont see a change in Dabs too, he knows.. Lets Go Yr #3!!!
Getting the OL fixed has been and still is the number one issue. No way Neal is a bust. Schoen said as much during a presser.. imo A Reset will go a long way.

The desperation to find the chosen one can be ridiculous, and ignores the fact that a lot of Super Bowls have been won by teams that built themselves up and then stumbled on one in FA/trade/late draft.

I agree with this and although I worry we may have missed on opportunity with QBs 4-6 on the board, I understand the line of thinking to just keep building the roster knowing DJ is still owed 70 million minimum over the next 2 years. Next years draft will have some solid QBs available in round 1, guaranteed.
2023 -It all started and ended with the OL falling apart not much else to see.
I like Jones but was thinking it was time to try to improve the position since we were picking so high. Yet Schoen passed on McCarthy and went WR.
I like the draft and the off season as a whole. I just think the there is something really going on with DJ and I will think this way until I see him throw a pass in training camp.

Danny GameBalls Dragged an undermanned team not only into the playoffs but a win on the road. When it counted he Had the games of his career.. especially the one against Minn -raised everyone levels too -Hodkins Belly etc
Started nxt yr full of hopium new contracts, his buddy Saquon signed, new talent TE and an OL that could be mid.. Devestation to OL, cant say it any other way. Then bad Neck injury after getting demolished game after game -set records for how many times he got hit in less than 2 secs 2! The Giants season OVA.. His fault according to fans -QB sucks cant thro downfield blah blah blah. Then just as it seems OL improving -he gutted it out to try again, they should have kept him out btw and he blows his knee out.. tragic!
2024 Here we are... NABORS NABORS NABORS -and new Weapons!!! The fucking OL is ? but i dont think its a big one anymore... This group seems to know what it is doing, Thomas, Runyn, JMS, Elmuenoir and Neal lets see them cook for Briccilo italian style.. His Team is mostly ready and now, he has experience, talent, toughness, balls, and everyone wants to replace him..lol I hope he Dabs and Kafka goes on a vengence tour this year.. LetsGo24
