Marco Vargas is injured, unclear if it's the same issue that has limited him to 3 games and a previous IL stint
-Infielder/centerfielder Jett Williams, the Mets’ top prospect, went on the seven-day injured list with Double-A Binghamton because of a right wrist issue.
After he jammed it, sat out for a week and didn’t feel well enough to play, the Mets opted to officially sideline him. He might get a cortisone injection, and the Mets are inclined to take his return very slowly, given his importance to the organization.
Before getting hurt, Williams was off to a slow start at the plate, batting .180 with a .668 OPS. He also played several games at second base, his first professional exposure to that position, his potential eventual defensive home.
Saul Garcia (received a nice report from @BaseballAmerica before the season) has been activated from the 7 day IL. Garcia has stuck out 7 over 3.2 innings of work for @stluciemets. He figures to join @BKCyclones shortly
"Jarrett Seidler

Parada is trending towards moving off catcher and neither our visual/analytic evals show a plus hit tool."
where did he come from?
Quote:
Damn... Chris Rodriguez.... 6 innings 0 hits 0 runs 3 walks 10 k's. Struck out the side in the 8th. DOMINANT for @FCLMets.
where did he come from?
Low bonus IFA signing last July. FB 94-96, potential plus CB and CU. Not a big kid so more likely than not a RP, but who knows? Won't be 20 until October.

there are so many guys succeeding seemingly out of nowhere, hopefully we are finally starting to see the resources pumped into development/minors paying off.
Dylan Ross/Robert Dominguez both remain MIA. Both had TJ, March 2022 #Mets

yep he is the one guy who i could see really being worth selling high on. that would be a bidding war in the style of the andrew miller trade way back when.
if rental david robertson has brought back ben brown and marco vargas in recent years, pre-ARB Garrett has to be worth 2 guys at that level and maybe even more.
I was looking for something else but noticed an absurd stat… McLean has allowed 3 HR since HS as a pitcher. He’s hit 4 this season already as a hitter
im almost always mostly focused like 90%+ on the top 5 in the system. this is the first time i can remember probably being more excited by the next 5 than the top 5.
not to say im unenthused by gilbert, acuna, clifford, and certainly not jett or scott, but baez, tidwell, tong, j-rod, vargas, rosa, sproat, morabito. the over under has to be like 2.5 of them displacing some of the top 5 before the end of this year.
@JustinRocke
Nolan comes back out in the fourth and strikes out three more.
Make it a career-high 9 🥊 outs for McLean.
His line: 4.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 SO, 73 pitches (52 strikes).
73 pitches are a career-high, too.
Justin Rocke
@JustinRocke
Nolan McLean has looked mighty good through three innings.
Fastball velo has been up a tick, sitting around 96-97 MPH.
He’s recorded six of his nine outs via strikeouts and the only run allowed is unearned.
@BKCyclones
behind, 1-0, headed to the fourth.
@RumblePoniesBB Troy Miller
@BKCyclones Douglas Orellana (has allowed *3* ER over 7 appearances, 3 starts)
@stluciemets Jack Wenninger
@FCLMets TBD #Mets
Yeah. I'm not a fan of his. He can go in a trade.

If they like the arm and he is not holding others back from getting needed reps the Mets will give him all the time he wants to prove he is not a hitter. If some organizational roster filler would be the DH anyway what harm is there in keeping him happy?

League to league the best players usually stay the best players, especially if they are already the best players at the youngest age. Unreal trade. I don’t think we could get someone as good as him now for Alonso. Can’t believe AZ gave him up for someone as meh as Pham.

Look who we gave up for Tyler Naquin and others. I know one of the recent Mets regimes it was said did not even bother scouting the low minors or DSL (their own or others)

Surprised they moved Rosa up so quick but left JRod behind. They should get him to St. Lucie.
Very true. He'll probably be at St Lucie when the FCL season ends at minimum if not before

The pitching in the Mets upper minors is really shaping up nicely. Tyler Stuart (all 6' 9" of him) threw for Bing this weekend. Didn't get the win, but he picked up 9 K's, including 6 in a row at one point.
Yes, really helps with the Minor's travel budgets too. Also makes sense to keep the leagues in the same general areas. Back in the day, the Lakewood NJ Blue Claws were traveling as far south as Charleston and Savannah.....long bus rides for sure.
The only 'possible' down-side to the 6 game homestand is that the opponents see the same pitcher twice in a week.

I do like how they made Monday a travel day across the minors and made all the series 6 games against the same team. Easier to plan to see these teams around me.

Yup true but could be good for the pitchers to learn how to pitch knowing they'll see the same hitters multiple times.
I'm about 20 minutes from Somerset(Yankees AA) but Binghamton doesn't visit there nearly as much as I want. I only get to see them once maybe twice a year. This year I wish they were there every month.
Need him back ASAP.
Hopefully Jett pops off the IL this week or next which is what he was tracking towards.
Zilch on Matt Allan who was hoping for a May return.
