it's such a dangerous play when shove or even nudge the player in the air instead of going for the blocked shot. Amare used to it all the time (sometimes not even on purpose) and guys would be ready to kill him.
So many people gripe about him all the time but what does he do? Make a dagger three to cap a 16-14-7 performance. 3-5 on threes. 6 o boards.
Not just the shot, but what looked like hesitation at first, was really a nice, heady play. He made a ball fake for a pass to the right. That left their defense out of position and contesting the shot too late.
I'm not complaining, but it looked to me more like Josh didn't want to take the shot (due to lack of confidence). But it worked out!
That may be the case. But, whether intended as a pass or a fake, it guaranteed him the wide open look.
In the post game presser he said his first option there was to swing it to Donte, but when Maxey closed on that he pulled it and shot it himself because he was wide open. Really well run play and excellent decision by Brunson not to force it.
RE: RE: How good would a player like IQ look in this rotation right now?
Has there ever been a more impactful mid-season trade in NY sports?
Maybe they use some of the draft picks this year for a potential rotation piece down the line?
If we make it to the Celtics I might just need to hibernate for a few weeks and see what happened later.
As good as IQ and his microwave offense can be, I would still rather have OG now. And I was really bummed when we first did the trade, too.
Of course, you make the trade 10/10 times. OG is really starting to show his personality in the playoffs, too. What a player.
I know I’m basketball dumb because it still isn’t intuitive to me the level of improved achieved in the swap. For all RJ can do, I didn’t realize how much he was clogging things up.
In this series he developed this annoying habit of driving to the middle of the paint, right into Embiid and co without any sort of plan. During the season, the drives seemed a lot more composed and later in the game he was doing a good job of pulling up at the foul line and draining the mid range.
But man, for a while there he was making me nuts with that. The good still far outweighed that but he definitely had me yelling at my TV last couple games.
made the right play going to DD. Hart made him pay. As JVG used to say, it's a make or miss league.
the player that messed up was Oubre, he slips, Batum helps and Embiid is there to double, Oubre keeps chasing Brunson rsther than going to find the open man levaing Hart wide open..
I remember earlier this season, some Knicks fans hoping that guy would force his way to the Knicks.
I wonder do any Knick fans still hope for that?
I know the mentality of - he's a dirtbag, but he's our dirtbag. But I don't want that dirtbag. It would be hard to root for him at this pt.
I know it’s blasphemous right now but I’d still take Embiid in a heart beat. He’s an incredible player and him and Brunson together would absolutely put them in the championship discussion every single season. Give me Embiid all day long. Anyone that says they wouldn’t want him cannot be taken seriously, imo

They essentially had 3 guys on Brunson
That was the Sixers plan. To stop Brunson. They did that in last seconds of regulation in game 5 but this time Brunson didn't force a shot, he passed it to the open man who was Jhart who was also the man you criticized all season but he also made up for missing the FT in game 5 and nailed the TREY.
but have to admit when he hits a shot and does that thing, it looks like he's sniffing the area between his thumb and index finger. As if he likes the smell after eating some Doritos or something..

You cant triple team him there, its jist a terrible scheme then
The Knicks are not for the faint of heart, but what a great feeling today.
They need to clean some things up to avoid a repeat 2014, but they just did beat the Sixers without Randle.

if the Sixers do sign a max guy I imagine they're going to have to get really creative to fill out the rest of the roster. You want stars in this league - but they'd have to say goodbye to almost every vet on the roster.
I remember earlier this season, some Knicks fans hoping that guy would force his way to the Knicks.
I wonder do any Knick fans still hope for that?

Of course I want to win championships, but myself and others would rather do it with other players. It's not like the dirtbag Embiid is the only player that can help us get over the top.
Donte stepping up and holding Maxey to his worst game this series?
That was the unexpected, and it bodes well for dealing with Haliburton
Agreed especially because you can stash Brunson on Nembhard. Roll out Hart/DDV/Deuce and give him different looks all series.
Defensively the Knicks match up great vs Indy.
OG vs Siakim
Mitch/Hartenstein vs Turner
DDV/Hart vs Haliburton
Hart/DDV vs Nesmith
Brunson vs Nembhard.
Offensive side Indy doesn't have the defenders to match up against Brunson like Philly did.
Nova Knicks combined for 80 points last night, including the last seven points the Knicks scored at crunch time. Josh, Jalen, and Donte scored or assisted on 110 of the Knicks’ 118 points.
Jalen with 41 and 12 assists. Donte played all 48 minute with 23 and 5-9 from three with 7 assists, and Josh with 16 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Ridiculous production from our guys. Jalen also hit a circus shot with under a minute and then looked up at the Villanova championship banners hanging from the rafters . Awesome. Just awesome. Crushed it.
Knicks probably won’t have to send many double teams
Congrats to the Knicks on their game 6 win. Anyone here go? I went to game 4 and the Knick fan turnout was nuts. Did the "give 2000 tickets away" thing work or was it Knicks mania?
The Big O did average a triple-double for a season. He wasn't hugely far off from averaging a triple-double for his entire 14-year career. He's not as well known as he played in small markets but there is a case for him being a top 10 player in NBA history. He could do it all.
Only the second player along with Oscar Robinson in NBA playoff history in three games to average 35+ points and 10+ assists
I think you mean Oscar Robertson. If anyone is old enough to have seen him play, you saw one magnificent basketball player.
I remember watching Oscar guard Jerry West mirroring him all around the court. Oscar could do everything on a basketball court as well or better than anyone.

Good luck to Indiana getting a single rebound if they’re going to play Siakam at center.
entire thread to find an answer if someone asked already but can someone explain to me how Nurse was able to challenge the embiid foul when he hit Harteinstein in the face. Didn't Nurse challenge the Brunson 3 in the 1st quarter that he got fouled on and lost the challenge? Therefore he shouldnt have had a challenge left.

No on landing spot fouls its almodt automatic that the refs look for a flagrant foul
seems like it would be hard to top Mike Piazza. Or maybe the Rangers basically turning over a 1/3 of their roster in 94, lol.
That's some company

Lol!
I haven't disliked a player this much in a long time

Just talking Knicks, how about Walt Bellamy for Dave DeBusschere? The OG trade transformed the team in a similar way.

I didn't realize DeBusschere was in-season. That's a good one. HOFer who was a key guy on two championship teams.
I wonder do any Knick fans still hope for that?

I never wanted Embiid. I've been very vocal about that. Same with Dame. Same with Beal.
Losing players.

Enbiid is dutty as fudge. Want no part of him. Loser and damaged goods.
