Yeah he seems to be forcing it too hard, laughing at his own shit the whole time. Funny, my least favorites were him, Bert Kreisher and Tom Segura, the actual big name comedians.
but how do you boast being unroastable and then right off the bat tell a comedian no more joke about a topic?
I only watched a clip on X so I don't have the full context but it seemed scripted. Brady isn't stupid enough to do that in the middle of his act while being mic-ed up and not know that people are going to see/hear it.
It seems odd that he would caution jokes about Kraft early in the show
when Kraft was a main part toward the end of the show with plenty of jokes at his expense.
Also, odd that they said some pretty nasty stuff about Gisele and he just sat there either smiling or laughing.
No matter what happened with my wife, that would never fly with me....but then again....I don't think this show was aimed at me.
The penis jokes were cringeworthy imho.....but everyone seemed to love them.
My favorite was Peyton...no cursing, no below the belt shots, pretty darn classy.
I hate to think fathers had their children watching this.
If a father had a young kid watching a Roast on Netflix and then was upset about the content I am leery of that father's parenting decisions in general. It's like taking your kid to a strip club and then being horrified that he saw boobs.
but I was curious when I saw this thread and I caught the last 20 minutes of it.
I think these can be funny, but I am sure people walk away pissed as an object of the joke.
I was surprised that Brady called out Bill about sneaking out of a young woman's place at 6am. I walked away thinking Brady is pretty smart, can be harsh and I like him even less than before. But then again I missed the whole beginning of the roast.

Brady knew they were going to go crazy with the giselle jokes. When you sign up to be roasted you know its a no holds barred assault on your life. You dont get huffy and puffy or start a fight because someone makes fun of a loved one. Gotta take it.
the Bill Belichick image restoration campaign is in full effect. Did the draft day special with PM. Now participating in this roast which inevitably led to him being roasted. Next the manning cast.
RE: Brady told Jeff off (it was caught on a hot mic)
Told him to knock the shit off about the massages and Robert Kraft
Good for Brady. That's way off limits. They're roasting Brady not Kraft. No need to embarrass Kraft just to get a supposed laugh.
When it's a roast, literally anyone in the room is fair game. That includes everyone who's married to or used to be married to anyone in room. And that includes dead people who killed other dead people.
Was it just me or did Affleck seem wasted during his set?
Anyhow, just to weigh in on the Kraft thing...it seems obvious that there was an agreement insisted on by Tom's camp that Kraft's past massage parlor incident and subsequent legal drama was off-limits.
Ross is a stone-cold killer at these things. He was the only one I can remember making a joke about it, and it was an extraordinarily mild line that merely brushed up against the topic.
Had no agreement been in place, with Kraft in attendance and prominently seated close to the dais, even participating, he would have had way more and way harder jokes referencing the massage thing, there is zero doubt. Can you imagine Nikki Glaser overlooking an opportunity to make filthy jokes about him? Any of those comics?
Which leads me to my point...fuck you Robert Kraft! You don't get to participate in the roast and get to dictate cover. Pick one...either don't participate and be left alone or participate and take the fucking jokes. But once you grab a mic and start taking jabs, you need to grow a pair and laugh at whatever comes back. That's what a roast is.
I hope we see all the jokes show up online. Fuck you, Kraft!
Props to everyone involved. Much respect to Tom, Bill, Drew and even Kraft for all being there, participating and subjecting themselves to that type of environment.
It was good for everybody. It was good for comedy. Really enjoyed it.

I agree. That was a long roast. I found it odd that the one thing he took issue with was that.

He was also not funny when on the Manningcast.

best line of the night
Agreed

I thought about attending the Roast of Tom Brady last night, but I did not want to Roast him for a 3rd time!!

Yeah that’s not how this works. You are purchasing a ticket to the full experiencing not just to watch. Kraft knew it was getting brought up.
And Kraft embarrassed himself, let’s be real.

Kraft and Brady both volunteered to be there.

I take it back. Watched it again. Bill gates that dude right now
Sounds like you are writing a game review with his time with the Giants. Bewildered and uncomfortable sums up his time with the Giants

I think he fat-fingered it... "Bill hates that dude right now."
Because it’s funny? People have thick skin out there, and a whole stadium of people laughed, seemed like a great night for everyone in attendence.

My 2 favorites as well
As with most things, the pros are just at a different level
And a lot of those smiles were manufactured as he was taking shit. I'm sure he's not used to taking shit.
