The New York Giants were the last team in the NFL to start a black man at quarterback. This is New York, not Dallas or Alabama. To this date, after 100 years in existence, they have not drafted a black man who plays quarterback. The NY Giants have been around for 100 years. Say what you will about it, but it's not a great record. They thought it was ok to draft bright lights like Kyle Lauletta and Davis Webb, and somehow by some weird coincidence, never a black man. Yes Kyle Lauletta was just too good to pass up, I know. These facts don't indicate that the organization has been some color-blind bastion of diversity. Now, do I think Mara is a cross burning, hood-wearing, KKK monster? No, of course not. I think he will correct this historical error as soon as he can. Way too many variables to play out before even making reasonable guesses as to how the QB prospects will get ranked pre-draft.
Could Sanders be the first pick in 2025? I guess, but unlikely unless Colorado plays out of their minds as several QBs on the 12 playoff teams (likely) will get plenty of media and scouting attention next season under the new format.

Sure, he lost some players, but he got a ton of big time recruits and some transfers too. I wouldn't say it's going sideways fast.

There were times when it looked like Shadeur was trying to make a bigger play. But they were significantly more times when it was a jailbreak and he had to try to make chicken salad. Just look at the PPF rankings. The CO OL was 67th in the nation in pass blocking. Think about that...

Yeah, Cristobal is a terrible coach in general. Ward should have definitely gone to Ohio st. Howard will be interesting to follow there, he wasn't even on my radar until Sy mentioned him.
The OL should have been arrested for assault that's how bad they were.
Sanders has a good arm - not great - and his movement is average. I don't think he is a great athlete and won't be a dual threat like a Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels. He'll be a pocket posser who can buy time if needed.
So, it's going to be interesting watching him play this year and how he improves.
The best pro prosect on that team is Travis Hunter, the corner/WR.
BTW, Deion's bluster brings out the best in the other teams. Teams were fired up to play Colorado and the games got very physical. The cheap shot Hunter took in the Colorado State game was vicious. And I think it was because of Deion...
And before someone quotes some draft website, two that I checked this morning still had Cam Ward and DJ Uiagalelei at their former schools.

If he isn't there I'd bet he goes to a bigger program. He brings in a lot of talent, it's honestly incredible how much he had revitalized the Buffs' program in the past year.
Did you watch a different CU team than the one in Boulder? His HS recruiting is terrible, most of his incoming transfers weren’t good, and he’s been bleeding players. I don’t see how you could make any claim that the program is on stable ground after one season.

They were in the gutter and he got several big recruits this year, they never got any good recruits before. It's a night and day difference.
I haven't seen him play so I don't have an opinion on him as a QB. Does he seem like a talent that Daboll can develop?
Deion as a distraction is overrated. He has his own career and legacy, he won’t live through his son’s.
I think Shadeur is in the mix for NYG next year.
He didn't take a single visit to a high school recruit. He said he was too busy. Meanwhile, he was taking shots at players who transferred out of CU on social media.
He's already feeling the pressure having lost 7 in a row to finish last year after talking such a big game. My guess is he'll be out of coaching once his son is in the NFL.
Plenty of guys are able to do this in college ball. Urban Meyer probably knows less about football than half the people in this thread, and he did well in college.

Sure, he lost some players, but he got a ton of big time recruits and some transfers too. I wouldn't say it's going sideways fast.
That hasn't worked well in Basketball which is a ton easier to integrate a group of new players. Think it's not a solid model for football at all

Zero issue w him other than I think it's fools gold to think brining in 30-40 new guys a year is going to work.
