SNF on NBC WEEK 1 is still open and has not been shared.
It’s the Giants 100th year anniversary.
Cowboys are spoken for in Cleveland; Eagles are in Brazil.
Commanders at Giants — with all the new faces in Washington— makes sense. (*I have no inside info…just speculating)
NYG vs WAS sounds like a terrible match up.

Devil's Advocate... NY is always ratings given the size of the market. League wants to show up new QB in Jayden Daniels.

an NFC East team? Why not Bills Dolphins or something compelling? Maybe Texans? Or Bears with Williams.

The Devil's Advocate's Advocate: Why would the league open the Sunday night prime time schedule with a potential snooze fest between two of the six worst teams in the league?
I agree
Even for the Jones haters
IF he is healthy, IMO, the Giants have the better QB for game 1
But yes, I'd MUCH rather have JD, than DJ.
That would be hilarious.
It's also smart business. Smarter to schedule NYG/WSH in week 1 when both teams and fanbases are hopeful at 0-0, rather than week 12 when at least one (and good chance both) are buried well under .500.

And give the announcers the chance to say 1,000 times "Daniel Snyder, the owner who pimped out his cheerleaders, sold the team and here are the new owners."

You can roll this matchup anytime in the first 4-5 weeks and get good ratings in these “two” markets. SNF is about national numbers not “market size”.
I guess Daniels would be a draw, but let’s be real, the only fans really interested in Nabers are Giants fans or diehard NFL fans. NYG and DC have sucked for years now, NBC can’t be happy.
Can it?

Can it?
If this year's opener is as bad as last year's Mara should fire Daboll on the spot, maybe even during the game and make him ride home with the cheerleaders like Coach Nickerson did to Djordjevic in All the Right Moves. I don't care if it's a home game or that the Giants don't have cheerleaders.
So I wouldn't be surprised that we are sitting there on Sunday Night praying for some semblence of normalcy unlike last opening night vs. Dallas.

Because they love the opportunity to grind us in a hole right from the start.
Not sure I follow. Our home game against WSH should be one of the easiest games on our schedule
I think Quinn is a clear upgrade over Rivera and he will likely have his squad ready to go and amped to start the season.

I agree
The Giants may not be a favorite to win often this season, if at all?
Who are the Giants clearly better than? The Panthers?

Yeah, to be clear, I don't think we have ANY automatic wins. My point was just that, of the games on our schedule, home against WSH is far from the most difficult.

Until proven otherwise, the Giants are a total football bore. I go to the same bar every Sunday and it was an absolute gum scrape trying to watch an entire game last year. And that included games when our franchise QB, and 10th highest paid player in the NFL, played.
There is NOTHING worse than watching bad QB play.
The Giants should be playing at 1PM every Sunday, and Chris Meyers & Robert Smith should be the announcing team.
DeVito was the QB for the Green Bay win on MNF.
Can it?
That was the biggest disaster opener I have ever seen. It was unbelievably bad
