CBS's Chris Trapasso 2025 Mock Draft

GFAN52 : 5/15/2024 8:56 am
1. Carolina - Carson Beck QB
2. Tennessee - James Pearce DL
3. New England - Mason Graham DL
4. Washington - Travis Hunter WR
5. NY Giants - Shedeur Sanders QB - Shedeur and Co. would be thrilled to land in the New York City media market, and Brian Daboll's work with Josh Allen -- if the Giants coach can keep his job if 2024 is disappointing.

I cant see Carolina giving up on Young
JT039 : 5/15/2024 8:59 am : link
already. I mean there wasnt a quality starter on that offense last year. And they really didnt get him much this offseason either.

Now if he absolutely tanks this year, then maybe. But giving up on a guy after two years with nothing around him is just crazy.
Isn’t Hunter a better CB than WR?
The_Boss : 5/15/2024 9:01 am : link
Also, want no part of Sanders. Trade up for Beck in this scenario.
Can we at least have one training

camp practice before projecting our 2025 draft picks??

I get the looking ahead but geez, some of this is borderline psychological issues area...
Doing a mock draft at this point

So let's bring the Colorado circus

To the Meadowlands? No thanks
Zero chance the Giants

are drafting a QB that flashes his Rolex at opponents
Dallas picking Houston QB Donovan Smith is an interesting pick
GFAN52 : 5/15/2024 9:51 am : link
There's always one surprise quarterback who catapults himself into the Round 1 discussion. Smith is my pick right now. At 6-foot-5 and listed at 240 pounds, he looks the part. Plus, he has mobility and a reasonable arm.

This is gonna blow your mind, but we don't get to dictate what CBS (or any media outlet) publishes, or when.

So we can choose to discuss the topic or not, but that seems like an individual choice we each make when we open a thread.

I Wonder What the Narrative Would Be
clatterbuck : 5/15/2024 10:33 am : link
if a few plays went the other way and Giants won 9 games last year instead of six. This conventional wisdom, group-think is annoying click bait most of the time. Maybe the Giants will suck again this season. Maybe the ball bounces the way it did in 2022, the offensive line is competetent, Nabers is a game-changer, and Nubin, Phillips, Tracy, etc, play well, and the Giants win 9-10 games. Nobody knows nuthin' this time of year.
For fun here's Trappasso's May 2023 mock of the 2024 draft
GFAN52 : 5/15/2024 10:52 am : link
At pick 15 - NY Giants select Bo Nix- Nix went from out-of-control Auburn quarterback to dynamic star at Oregon. He's the type of freaky athlete with a strong arm the Giants would likely gravitate toward.

Caleb Williamson goes overall #1 to the Cardinals

The Giants will be drafting at #32, so they will never be able to
Jack Stroud : 5/15/2024 10:59 am : link
draft Sanders! Besides, they already have a top tier qb!
Two thoughts
regischarlotte : 5/15/2024 11:33 am : link
1. Puke.

2. Little is more pointless and useless than mock draft nearly a full year out.
I wouldn't say it's completely worthless

These things are useful in creating a player watch list for the upcoming college football season.

And I would imagine that's what Mara and Schoen will be thinking.

In my decades as a Giants fan, this is the first time I'm already looking at next year's draft a/k/a what QB can we get for next season?

Good question about Hunter. While he looks like a good WR, I think he's looks like a natural at corner. Very fluid and great ball skills, although I am curious about his speed.

Sanders is THE ONE QB they will never draft
Dave on the UWS : 5/15/2024 3:14 pm : link
He doesn't remotely fit the type of QB Mara would be comfortable with (whether Schoen and Daboll are here or not).

Good click bait article though.
I’ve never bet on sports. I’m not a gambler.
DeVito32 : 5/15/2024 4:02 pm : link
But next year, whatever the odds are, I’ll bet my house, pension, I’ll even take a loan out on top of it that the Giants won’t take Sanders. If there’s any QB ever that the Giants would stay away from, it’s Deion’s son. They’ll never deal with that shitshow.
Shedeur Sanders
M.S. : 5/15/2024 4:02 pm : link

Is better than any QB on the Giants roster. By far. He would be a great pick up and give the entire team a shot in the arm.

Yeah I don't think anyone pays attention to the teams that are assigned to each pick, it's more about predictions on how the prospects may come off the board. The funny thing about it is: I think calling it a mock draft likely generates more clicks than a simple list of the top 32 prospects; but I'm guessing that once clicked on, the clickers immediately dismiss the team part of it and focus only on the players.
