Good story about Devin Singletary

WestCoastGFan : 5/16/2024 4:14 pm
I watched some of the clips on him and he seems to have great balance, fantastic cuts and power in his runs. If I were to make a comparison... I would say "Ahmad Bradshaw". There is no hesitation through the hole and he breaks a lot of tackles.

One thing I like about Singletary is that he hasn't missed many games

My bad... I thought you were saying the article may the Bradshaw comparison and I didn't see his name mentioned. I see you were making the comparison.

Yeah. Sorry Eric. Just my humble observation from what I have seen. He runs angry

One thing is for sure,

he ahs the vision to get into the open but lacks the speed on a carry to carry basis to break big runs. But, we need a yard churner, a move the chains guy which we have not really had in a while. Barkley was more sizzle than steak and in physical moments wasn't the guy we could rely on- he wasn't moving the pile for us.

I am hoping a committee approach will be better served here.

His running style is exactly what we need right now.
Good vision, good balance, decisive, quick and a tackle breaker.
Better o-line play in front of him will also help the running game.
Happy to have him at the price.

Among the advantages of a RBbyC are:
- ability to substitute for needed rests
- select skills needed for the down/distance
- change "primary back" game to game to suit game plan - 'What you saw last sunday is not what you will see this week."

I said that repeatedly last year. As much as I loved Barkley he wasn't a chain mover. He'd gain one lose three. Gain 3 lose one ka few series later break off a 40 yarder. He'd end up with either 30 yard or 100 yard games. Chain movers eat the clock and keep the offense on the field and the defense off it.

the kind of RB you want to sign. He's fine, reliable, cheap. Ideally you pair a vet like him with a speed merchant from the middle rounds of the draft. I think that is going to be the model that most smart teams employ.
