I am a troll because I want Captain Clutch to play like it in a close out game. Looks like he had the jitters. The Pacers changed some things it is too late until he figured it out.Once bricking free throws has nothing to do with defense. The player is not playing up to his standards in a close out game. In Philly we had MSG south. The crowd and Pacers got under his skin.

He had 41 and 12 in a close out game last round. Two of the games in Indy he was playing hurt. He had 1 bad half last night.
I trust that Brunson and iHart will be better next game.
They now what's on the line and they won't come out flat again. However, if Hart is limited we're in big trouble. We already have enough problems rebounding because we don't have a true PF or SF playing. If Hart can't go after boards with his usual intensity, I don't see how we can win the rebounding battle and we haven't won a game this series where we didn't win that battle.
Also, I really wish Thibs would stop with the Precious/iHart lineups. They never work, they don't provide additional defense, and they don't provide additional rebounding. If Hart is limited or can't go, replace him with Burks and not Precious. Precious is at his most effective when he's playing center because his quickness surprises the big guys sometimes.
I wish OG could just give us 20 minutes. His size/rebounding would really help even if he's limited in all other facets of the game right now.

Seriously. Ripping Brunson at this point is crazy. He carried them after a slow start in the Philly series, he carried them in game 5 against Indy. Even Jordan had bad halfs and bad games in the playoffs
With the Knicks hopes largely depending on at least one of Divo, Deuce, Burks or Hart getting hot at this point, Brunson is forced to do most of the scoring for long stretches, typically with 2 defenders all over him
Not to mention he’s playing hurt. Let’s see what he gives us in game 7, but overall he’s been pretty much a superhero in these playoffs
I am super proud of this team, win or lose aunday, i am proud of how this tema fought, this is a 60 win team fully healthy, and they have been missing thier 2nd and 3rd best players and still fought...
This series would be kver in 4 or 5 vs a fully healthy Knicks team..
This rendering of the Knicks will be the worst of any Knicks tema in the next 5 years...
Also want to say love these Knicks threads and chatting with you guys..

The Nembhard long 3 that put the Pacers up 3 with 17 seconds left was unlucky, but Knicks made their own bad luck, including at the FT line.
And, oh yeah, Precious was on the bench that entire 4Q, after being on the court the entire winning 4Q in Game 2 (mostly with IHart) after OG was hurt.

Is it too much to ask to make a free three...you work hard to draw that foul then you go up with no one in front of you and miss 3 out 4...it is victory for crowd and defense...not very hard to understand...

Since late January, Jalen Brunson, a 6 foot 1 guard, has played with no legit #2 scorer and put this team on his back. He led them the Knicks to 50 wins and the two seed. He’s had six 40 point games in the playoffs. He’s don’t unprecedented things this postseason. He’s pushed the Knicks to a Game 7 in the second. He’s a warrior, a bulldog and a superstar. He deserves nothing but respect and love from Knicks fans.

Dude your making a horse's ass out of yourself. If you wanna bash Brunson go on some Philly or Indiana site and swing away. The guy has had one of the greatest seasons in Knicks history. He's dragging a starting lineup through this series that consists of 3 other players that started the season on the bench and another guy who wasn't even in the rotation till almost January. He's human. He had a bad half. Indiana is not some juggernaut but it's the 2nd Rd of the playoffs and outside of one guy who's been out for months their rotation is fully healthy. Seriously we invite all reasonable discussion here and we argue all the time. However you can't bash Brunson repeatedly and expect to be taken seriously.

I look at the total body of work and he has been nothing short of amazing
But if he has another bad game tomorrow night in game seven, that’d be two in a row in elimination games. Deserved or not, he’s gonna get criticism. He talked all season about not forgetting the game six against Miami last playoffs, well here’s your chance to change that.
Problem is he can play well and they still might lose given all the injuries this team has….but to even have a chance he’s gotta have a big game
RE: I can’t blame Brunson for a bad game last night

Brunson scored 41 points in Game 6 vs Miami last year. Forty one of the 92 points the team scored.
He probably blames himself for the late possession that resulted in a turnover. But he did not have a bad game, far from it.
Full disclosure, I am not a Knicks fan. From the outside looking in, knocking Brunson is ridiculous. A fully healthy Knicks team minus Brunson isn't a conference finals team. Y'all have been looking for a player like him for a generation.

I wasn't saying he had a bad game in that game 6, just that he always mentions the late turnover and not forgetting that.
He can wipe that game from his memory tomorrow if he carries us to the ECF.
RE: RE: RE: I can’t blame Brunson for a bad game last night
I'll leave that to the reading comprehension of the board.

Last night was an elimination game, not for us, but for the Pacers. That's what I was referring to.
Josh said he wanted to experience a close out game at MSG. He can have a Willis Reed moment walking out to shot around and Brunson can star as Clyde carrying the team to victory. The Garden will be effin bonkers tomorrow and win or lose we should be proud of this crew and what they have done this year.
Next year they will be healthy and very dangerous to all other teams. The window will be wide open... Let's Go Knicks!!!
Pacers are the type of soft team that will piss their pants at the sight of them - I’m sure they’re counting on beating the Knicks’ skeleton crew.
Funny thing is that skeleton crew is more determined than an almost 100% healthy Pacers squad. I expect Haliburton to shrink in the moment... We got this
As an aside, anyone have a feeling about Nuggets Wolves tomorrow?
I think the winner is probably the favorite to win it all.
Such a weird series. Going to a game 7 even though most of the games were blowouts. I think Denver takes it though. The playoff experience will matter for a game 7.
I lean Denver too because of Joker. Very ‘92 Bulls vibes with them…being pushed to 7 in semifinals before winning it all vs. a team that lost in Finals two years before, like Blazers in ‘92 & probably Cs this spring.
I think we could beat Cs if fully healthy, but at this rate…we might be asking Spree to come out of retirement for bodies.
@IanBegley
Knicks and OG Anunoby will make call tomorrow on whether he plays in Game 7 but there is optimism about his return at the moment, per SNY sources. Sources say Anunoby has progressed in his rehab and he wants to be out there with his teammates in win-or-go-home game vs IND.
And hit a few corner threes then the rest of the team can work. If Josh can get through the pain and do some Hart things the same. Depth is then there with Deuce, Burks & Precious.
This whole thing is like a dream
Is it true the Pacers have lost every game OG played in this season?
I saw that somewhere that they never beat him when he was in Toronto this season either. And they are something like 0-5 against him this year when he plays.
RE: Is it true the Pacers have lost every game OG played in this season?

Pacers only played the Raptors once this year with OG.
Toronto won that game 132-131 in overtime. OG was assigned to guard Haliburton, who had 33 points and 16 assists.
I know because I looked up that game, and the highlights, right after the Knicks traded for OG.
And then there were the first two games of this series, so 0-3, not 0-5, if you're counting.
But not a stat that means much, in itself.
