For a team that has played two injury- riddled opponents. This series would be over already if the Knicks were even just mostly healthy.

Haliburton did the too small thing to Deuce, who out played him, after hitting a shot to go up 15.

They deserve to lose game 7

I see everyone here is letting it out, we're just frustrated.

Haliburton puts up 15 and people are acting like he was awesome. BRUNSON'S bad game still doubled his offensive output. Deuce still outplayed him.

Anyway, no matter what happens Sunday, the window is open, healthy this team can go with any to team in the league.

I think they will shock people on Sunday

Lot of quitters in this thread.

Brunson
Deuce
DDV
Precious
IHart
Burks

We fucking ride. Game 7. Get ready to play 48. We can get it done with that squad. Let’s go Knicks fuck this pacers team.
The disappointing thing is that they had a team meeting
shockeyisthebest8056 : 5/18/2024 3:33 am : link
after game 4 in which I’m fairly certain they discussed the lack of defensive intensity, effort plays, and rebounding. Then they came out tonight and had the exact same problems. The one on one defense was atrocious in this game. How many easy drives did the Pacers get in the first half?

As for the offense, Brunson definitely killed them because the offense gets stagnant when he becomes so ball dominant. Its fine if he’s making shots, but when he doesn’t they’re left with one solo shot possession after another.

Precious and Hartenstein were awful.

They MUST get DDV going early in game 7.

But the problem is that Brunson froze him out twice now in this series when he was cooking. DD had that awesome game earlier in the series where he had like 35 point in the third and when Brunson went back in he never passed him the ball unless he was trying to get bailed out from forcing a bad shot. Now, in this game he started off slow but yot into a rhythm when Brunson was on the bench in the 2nd quarter. Brunson comes in and continues to just throw up bad shit after bad shot. I don't want to hear he needs help or others weren't hitting shots. It's bullshit. Duece and DD were cooking and Brunson is turning into Randle. The whole teams gets deflated. The tide turned when Brunson came back in the game in the 2nd. It drives me nuts that he continues to do this. I'd be pissed playing with him when he does this.
Also, if the Knicks give up back to back layups,
robbieballs2003 : 5/18/2024 5:41 am : link
Thibs will call a timeout to fix it. If we have 10 bad offensive possessions in a row he doesn't care to address it. The epitome of this game is Brunson is shooting like shit, hogging the ball, and forcing up bad shot. I couldn't stop laughing at this point in the 3rd. Brunson gets the inbounds and is immediately double teamed. Hartenstein, DD, and Precious were in the back court. They all gathered up together and basically walked up court together to get out of Brunson's way. As Brunson is dribbling agaijst the double team, you have the 4 other Knicks all gathered outside the 3 point line like they are just clearing the court so Brunson can go one one one. Well, that couldn't happen because they were basically doubling him. Nobody is working because that is just what they do. Brunson is becoming Randle. Since nothing is there, out of all the players to come over, it is Hart. Hart sets a screen and they run a pick and roll. They basically leave Hart unattended. Brunson passes the ball down low but Hart is hesitant because of his injury. That hesitation allowed the Pacers to switch and stop him a couple of feet from the hoop. But because Brunson was dribbling so much, the shot clock is running down. Hart dishes it to DD who has to rush a 3 point shot because the 24 second clock is expiring.

It is really tough watching them when they play like shit. Brunson is an amazing player but when he becomes so ball dominant, it kills the team. When the hustle plays aren't there, you see how poor our offense is. You cannot let a handful of series go without addressing it let alone the majority of the game. Yes, the defense played bad today as well but part of that is because there is no energy on offense. It's contagious.

I don't care about the injuries just like Indy doesn't care either. If we lose to them in game 7, this was not a successful season. I like our future outlook and we can all point to excuses like the injuries. However, this series was very winnable and there was easily correctable things where we didn't make the necessary adjustments. Brunson has to play smarter. I hate Lebron James but the one thing I really respect about his game is that he understands the importance of getting his teammates involved early in the game before he tries to take over. As awesome as Brunson has been this year, it is a team sport and with him being the PG it is his responsibility to get guys involved. You cannot be pulling a John Starks.

The Pacers changed some things it is too late until he figured it out.Once bricking free throws has nothing to do with defense. The player is not playing up to his standards in a close out game. In Philly we had MSG south. The crowd and Pacers got under his skin.

He had 41 and 12 in a close out game last round. Two of the games in Indy he was playing hurt. He had 1 bad half last night.
I trust that Brunson and iHart will be better next game.
LW_Giants : 5/18/2024 10:05 am : link
They now what's on the line and they won't come out flat again. However, if Hart is limited we're in big trouble. We already have enough problems rebounding because we don't have a true PF or SF playing. If Hart can't go after boards with his usual intensity, I don't see how we can win the rebounding battle and we haven't won a game this series where we didn't win that battle.

Also, I really wish Thibs would stop with the Precious/iHart lineups. They never work, they don't provide additional defense, and they don't provide additional rebounding. If Hart is limited or can't go, replace him with Burks and not Precious. Precious is at his most effective when he's playing center because his quickness surprises the big guys sometimes.

I wish OG could just give us 20 minutes. His size/rebounding would really help even if he's limited in all other facets of the game right now.

Seriously. Ripping Brunson at this point is crazy. He carried them after a slow start in the Philly series, he carried them in game 5 against Indy. Even Jordan had bad halfs and bad games in the playoffs

With the Knicks hopes largely depending on at least one of Divo, Deuce, Burks or Hart getting hot at this point, Brunson is forced to do most of the scoring for long stretches, typically with 2 defenders all over him

Not to mention he’s playing hurt. Let’s see what he gives us in game 7, but overall he’s been pretty much a superhero in these playoffs

Game 3, Knicks up 98-89, 9:46 remaining 4Q
shyster : 5/18/2024 11:43 am : link
chance to go up 3-0 and, most likely, close out the series in five.

These were the Knick possessions from that point:

9:10 DDV turnover
8:33 DDV missed shot
7:46 Brunson turnover
7:22 Brunson 1 of 2 FTs
6:44 Brunson missed shot
6:13 DDV missed shot
6:01 DDV missed shot
5:27 Burks missed shot
5:21 J Hart turnover
4:50 Burks missed shot
4:38 Brunson missed shot
3:53 Brunson made 2-pt
2:58 McBride missed shot
2:26 J Hart 1 of 2 FTs
2:03 J Hart missed shot
1:45 Brunson 1 of 2 FTs
1:00 Brunson missed shot
0:42 Brunson made 3-pt
13.1 Brunson missed shot

19 possessions, 2-13 FGs, 3-6 FTs, 3 turnovers.

The Nembhard long 3 that put the Pacers up 3 with 17 seconds left was unlucky, but Knicks made their own bad luck, including at the FT line.

And, oh yeah, Precious was on the bench that entire 4Q, after being on the court the entire winning 4Q in Game 2 (mostly with IHart) after OG was hurt.

Since late January, Jalen Brunson, a 6 foot 1 guard, has played with no legit #2 scorer and put this team on his back. He led them the Knicks to 50 wins and the two seed. He’s had six 40 point games in the playoffs. He’s don’t unprecedented things this postseason. He’s pushed the Knicks to a Game 7 in the second. He’s a warrior, a bulldog and a superstar. He deserves nothing but respect and love from Knicks fans.

Dude your making a horse's ass out of yourself. If you wanna bash Brunson go on some Philly or Indiana site and swing away. The guy has had one of the greatest seasons in Knicks history. He's dragging a starting lineup through this series that consists of 3 other players that started the season on the bench and another guy who wasn't even in the rotation till almost January. He's human. He had a bad half. Indiana is not some juggernaut but it's the 2nd Rd of the playoffs and outside of one guy who's been out for months their rotation is fully healthy. Seriously we invite all reasonable discussion here and we argue all the time. However you can't bash Brunson repeatedly and expect to be taken seriously.

An imbecile doesn’t and expects perfection

I can’t blame Brunson for a bad game last night
LW_Giants : 5/18/2024 12:41 pm : link
But if he has another bad game tomorrow night in game seven, that’d be two in a row in elimination games. Deserved or not, he’s gonna get criticism. He talked all season about not forgetting the game six against Miami last playoffs, well here’s your chance to change that.

Problem is he can play well and they still might lose given all the injuries this team has….but to even have a chance he’s gotta have a big game

Brunson scored 41 points in Game 6 vs Miami last year. Forty one of the 92 points the team scored.

He probably blames himself for the late possession that resulted in a turnover. But he did not have a bad game, far from it.

Full disclosure, I am not a Knicks fan. From the outside looking in, knocking Brunson is ridiculous. A fully healthy Knicks team minus Brunson isn't a conference finals team. Y'all have been looking for a player like him for a generation.

I wasn't saying he had a bad game in that game 6, just that he always mentions the late turnover and not forgetting that.

He can wipe that game from his memory tomorrow if he carries us to the ECF.

I'll leave that to the reading comprehension of the board.

I can’t blame Brunson for a bad game last night but if he has another bad game tomorrow night in game seven, that’d be two in a row in elimination games.

Last night was an elimination game, not for us, but for the Pacers. That's what I was referring to.

Josh’s abdominal?
Not a thing about Josh Hart

Josh said he wanted to experience a close out game at MSG. He can have a Willis Reed moment walking out to shot around and Brunson can star as Clyde carrying the team to victory. The Garden will be effin bonkers tomorrow and win or lose we should be proud of this crew and what they have done this year.

Next year they will be healthy and very dangerous to all other teams. The window will be wide open... Let's Go Knicks!!!
