What bench? lol

They literally lost 3 starters and a bench guy, i mean what are you talking about?

they were on a 60 win pace befkre the injuries lol

And of course the minutes Thibs puts on certain players don't exactly help.

I am sorry blaming Thibs for any of the injuries is just plain stupid, nobidy was playing big minutes at the time of all the injuries, its just ridiculous to even say its his fualt

You don't think these minutes add up and take a toll on these players? Of course they do and this is what Thibs is known for. He will ride his racehorses into the ground.

You realize nobody was over 35 minutes a game before the injuries right? nobody in the top 14

The Knicks season will end with injuries to:

Jalen Brunson
Julius Randle
Mitchell Robinson
OG Anunoby
Bojan Bogdanovic
Josh Hart
DDV
Isaiah Hartenstein

Look at what he did to Jimmy Butler. I'm not suggesting Thibs get fired, but his Achilles Heel is by far his minutes allocation. He shortens his bench, has a small rotation and will run his starters into the ground.

Literally none of the injuries were because of minutes wtf are you talking baout?

Sorry to say you're wrong. Thibs overworked his players. Doesn't explain all the injuries but it certainly accounts for some of the soft tissue injuries.

Yeah if Randle would have had a few minutes more rest, he would have been able to avoid falling over some bench guy on the Heat going for a rebound.

Mitch gets hurt every year. Hes not durable.

OG hurt his elbow and then pulled a hammy on a fast break.

Which injuries specifically are caused by overuse?

Didnt Randles injury happen when he really could have and should have been out of the game?

That’s not an injury caused by overuse, which is the discussion here.

Like I said, I’m not a Thibs guy but all of this isn’t on him. Players get hurt, especially when they’re playing hard. That’s how Bogdanovic got hurt.

That was my biggest gripe with Leon Rose. He didn't do nearly enough to improve the bench. Don't forget that we had to see Jacob fucking Toppin and some of these other schmos get minutes in some games (including one I went to...ugh, talk about a waste of money) due to injuries.

The only addition on the buyout/FA market was Shake Milton. Not nearly enough. I wish we went hard after Kyle Lowry.

Celtics have a taylor-made route to the Finals. A lil revenge too against a Butler-less Heat team to start, then the Cavs with Spida not playing some, and now the Posers.

The Cs will obviously be in the Finals. It's just a matter of how many games. My prediction for the ECF is Celtics in 5. Whomever wins Game 7 tonight in Denver is gonna win the title IMO.

I think people will back off these complaints.

Leon Rose built this rotation:
Brunson, DDV, OG, Randle, iHart
Hart, Deuce, Bogey, Burks, Mitch

Now he’s got the chance to aim even higher.
You have to look at every aspect of the team to improve. It's like
Jim in Hoboken : 5/19/2024 6:14 pm : link
discussing Jones, can you not assess him without All-Pro's at every position? Thibs can't be criticized until he has a fully healthy squad at the end of the year? I am sorry, what was the excuse for last year again?

Obviously it doesn't look like Thibs will go, but it doesn't mean he should be spared any criticism. Like I asked, who complains about his substitution patterns during games more than you?

At different times, you see players not given a lick of time when the full squad was healthy came up big at different junctures, why couldn't they have gotten more PT before? But this is just a part of it, there is so much more to coaching. We all laugh at Carlisle for complaining about the refs, well did he put his team in a better position to win? Hell yeah.

Everybody was predicting a 5-1 Knicks series win before it started. What happened? The OG injury alone can account for the big turnaround? You laud Thibs for his team's defense, how about his team letting the Pacers shoot 75%?
Kyle Lowry scored zero points in his last two games

I've broken my hand multiple times. As long as it's not a displaced fracture or a completely shattered bone, it's a 4-6 week injury. If he needs surgery with some pins put in, then it's more like 8-12 weeks. So, I don't see anyway he won't be ready for training camp. He may just be rusty in the early part of the season if it's the worst possible scenario and he needs surgery and 12 weeks to recover.

Again, Lowry totally busted in the playoffs, 1 for his last 12 over three games vs the Knicks.

Zero points in the last two games in 40 minutes of court time.

He wouldn't have fixed crap.
Great season all around, no matter what.

The Detroit Pistons lost to the Atlanta Hawks in the 86 playoffs before transforming their team with their draft that off-season (John Salley in RD 1 and Dennis Rodman in RD 2) and trade (Adrian Dantley). Not saying that'll happen here of course, lol, but we're seeing a roster turnover for the better with the additions in the last year and change of Hart, DDV, and OG along with the development of McBride and the signing of iHart two off-seasons ago. I expect there to be more like them this offseason, which will be exciting.

Let's hope it's the least worrisome option possible. Now is the time for all of these guys to heal. This team is friggin walking wounded man.
There are 2 ways they can go
nygiants16 : 5/19/2024 6:25 pm : link
they can go in with the team they had from January, maybe add another ball handler, and go after a big that can shoot, bring back Bojan and you got a prettt good deep team..

Or you can swing for the fences and find a superstsr that fit next to this core and replace Randle and maybe that puts you closer to a chmapionship..

I think either way the Knicks are a title contender next year

OUT (5):

-Bojan

-and Brunson at the end

they can go in with the team they had from January, maybe add another ball handler, and go after a big that can shoot, bring back Bojan and you got a prettt good deep team..

Or you can swing for the fences and find a superstsr that fit next to this core and replace Randle and maybe that puts you closer to a chmapionship..

I think either way the Knicks are a title contender next year

It sucked as a way to end the season, but it was by far the most enjoyable Knicks season in a long time. That January team could have played with anyone in the league. Agree we'll be a contender next year.

I agree. Winner of Denver Minnesota wins it all.

I am pulling for Nuggets. I love Joker.

Keeping it to this game since there's a thread up now for next year:

I can take this loss since the chickens came home to roost with respect to the injuries. Everyone gave all they could. Even OG's 4 minutes were appreciated. They ran outta bullets. Simple as that. We were ready for this loss by the 3rd quarter, and if we're honest waaay before that. I just hope Brunson isn't hurt too badly since it's his shooting hand (left) that's fractured.
