NFT: Forest Hills Stadium Question

NJGiantFan84 : 5/19/2024 8:39 pm
I’m headed to a concert for the first time at Forest Hills stadium in June. Its going to start early so Im looking to avoid the sun. Does anybody know which side of the stadium is best to purchase to stay in the shade?

Also I heard parking around the stadium is impossible. I like to walk so Im thinking of trying to find a spot about a mile away that I can walk to as Im coming from NJ and the train would take even longer.

If theres anything else I should know, I appreciate any tips!
Get seats

on the left side of the stage. Park in the neighborhood, get some Chinese food before the show, and walk over. Enjoy.

There's a parking garage within walking distance but you can find street parking. Plenty of good food although the curfew kinda sucks.
Driving there from Jersey is not fun

Did it once and it sucked. Every time since then I parked at Sec. Jct. Took a NJ Transit train into NY Penn and then the LIRR to Forrest Hills.

Couldn’t have been easier and saved a lot of time as well.
Don't try to park on Austin Street

It's the closest option, but even too hard to park on a night without a concert.

If looking for on-street parking I'd recommend going north of Queens Blvd. You'll likely need to snake around a bit you'll be able to find something without too much trouble.

I used to live on 71st Road (1 block from 71st Av which will be your entry way towards the stadium -- turn right on Burns).

I'd think your search area for ideal parking would be between 108th St and 112th St between say, Jewel Av and 72nd Ave. You could extend a bit further (say to Yellowstone), but you shouldn't have to.
Attended 1 concert, parked fairly close to the GC Parkway,

and ate at 'Cabana', which was excellent. About 30m or so of walking from the parking spot to the Stadium.

Miss the days when my wife drove a rollerskate, er, Mini Roadster.
Just saw Neil Young There Last Week

You can find safe street parking on the south side of QB

the streets there are alphabetical;

Austin
Burns
CLyde
Dartmouth, etc.

You can find parking a few blocks away, say around Harrow/Ingram. Max 10 min walk in a nice nabe.

No need to pay for a garage. If you can take LIRR thats also easy as it is a half block to the stadium.
Thank you!

I was wondering what the guy whose name included "in Forest Hills" was going to say, turns out was exactly what I was going to say.

When I first moved to NY a couple decades ago I lived between Harrow and Ingram, it's a pretty walk through the neighborhood.
