Judge hit one earlier. Need more guys on base for these 2.. should be more than 4 runs
Yeah we would all love for better than 2 run home runs but they were the third batter of the inning.Judge being the in the first. To your point though it would be nice to see the bottom of the lineup start to produce more
deep into the bleachers with Judge onboard - 7-3
Breathing room.
He must have stayed at home plate for half an hour watching his ball sail into the bleachers. In another era he gets drilled next time he faces Seattle.

That era has long ago ended. Soto is just as bad. It is fairly common.
DJ and Stanton aren't going anywhere. There are plenty of other places to cut. If Glyber and Holmes walk, thats $20 mill right there. That, plus the $30 mill Soto is already getting gives them enough to pay him $50 mil.
Kahnle is making an insane 11.5 million and he's 33. If they keep him, hopefully it it will be for much less. They should be done with Loasiga and Lou Trivino, thats another 4 mil. The 5 million they're flushing down the toilet on Grisham is coming off the books.
Now the big guys. If Verdugo walks thats 9 million off the books. I think they have a team option on Rizzo, but if they don't pick it up that's a whopping $20 million they're saving.
Also for the first time I can remember as a Yankee fan, their starting pitching is set. Cole, Rodon and Stroman are all under contract, Nestor and Gil are under team control.
I see the Orioles dropped a doubleheader to the Cards yesterday, which sort of puts the Yankees back on track after the two Seattle losses. Somehow the Yankees have still played four more games than Baltimore though..
RE: RE: RE: Not so great job by the bullpen tonight. Â
the starters have been a pleasant surprise given no Cole -
the bullpen is an adventure IMO.....
Not really. Only a couple recent games they've had hiccups. They were 2nd in the league ERA before Monday.
Boone still manages to mismanage the pen, too.
I didn't say the bullpen sucks - just that it's an adventure. I stand by that. Holmes puts men on base even when he gets out of it. And look at this week - the pen gave up 4 runs in 2/3s of an inning Monday, 4 runs in 2 innings Tuesday, and 3 runs in 3 innings last night. To me, going to this bullpen is an adventure - it's not particularly reliable regardless of where they are in league ERA. Sometimes they are good, it's true - and sometimes they're not.
2. Why does the thread title need baseballs in it at all/need to be different than Mets thread?
2. Why does the thread title need baseballs in it at all/need to be different than Mets thread?
I refuse to participate in baseball threads that don't have baseballs in the title. So I think he did it for me. Thanks Ron!

Yes, softballs are yellow and we don't need to look like Mets mini-me's
Volpe was on for both of the first two
I don't expect him to be long term.

I think he may be moved and Peraza brought up or Cabrera moves to 2nd.
I think if he isn't traded they don't pursue him in FA.
Jinxed him, speaking well of him.
Breathing room.
Soto applauding the fans in RF each night.!

i'd rather have Marianaccio. I hope they don't make the mistake of holding on to Tonkin any longer than we need to.
I think there is outcome where two of Rizzo, DJ, and Stanton are not Yankees next year.

What do we make of Hal's comment this evening that the current ~$300 million NYY payroll is not financially sustainable?
He's lying.
