Mavs-Wolves with a good one going.

Van Gundy and Reggie Miller are annoying AF.

If Dallas wraps it up tonight, the finals beginning on June 6th is a little silly. It's probably to Boston's advantage as Horford is a 100 years old, and Porzingis should be ready roll.

The Irving/Boston, Porzingis/Dallas is a nice little subplot.
For all the talk about Dallas letting Brunson walk

They've pivoted nicely.

Added a lot of length.

Tanked just enough at the end of last year to keep the pick that turned into Dereck Lively.

Made moves for Gafford, P.J. Washington and Derrick Jones.

It's improved their defense and, on offense, the tall targets match up well with Doncic, who is tall enough to both see over the defense and pass over it.

Missing Lively tonight.

Minny survives.

Dallas still in good shape but only one home game left if it goes seven.

True, but they still had Luca so it's not as if they were starting from scratch.

As much of a lunatic wild card as Kyrie is, when he decides he wants to really play, he's still a phenomenal player. So that helped too.

they gambled on Kyrie and it's working out right now. But it was a gamble. When's the last time he had a normal season or a productive playoff run? 2017?

If they signed Brunson to the cheap deal he was willing to take and then traded for another star with everything they've given up the last few years, they'd be set up for a mini dynasty.
Dallas going after Kyrie

reminds me of the Knicks getting Spreewell, a little bit.
Luka up 1

Does home court mean anything anymore?
Maybe Twolves should stop
nygiants16 : 5/30/2024 9:40 pm : link
talking so much in the media? I have never seen a team talk so much down 3-0
Don’t they have to talk to the media

Of a super star to an all time player. Really hope Luka wins it this year.
What a brutal game.
bceagle05 : 5/30/2024 10:05 pm : link
Glad the Yankees and Rangers are on, too.
Worst conference finals I can ever remember
UConn4523 : 5/30/2024 10:12 pm : link
just awful
Dereck Lively in this series
shyster : 5/30/2024 11:10 pm : link
in 3 games, plus 9 minutes of the game he got knocked out.

16-16 FG
31 REB
10 AST
6 BLK

Along with Gafford and PJ Washington (who were acquired at the deadline) he has given Mavs the front court and interior defense they were lacking.
Feel bad for the Wolves
JT039 : 5/30/2024 11:14 pm : link
But it looked like they were running on empty all series. Beating Denver took its toll. Plus they’re so young. They’ll be back.

Western conference has so many good young teams. Should be a battle each year.

So Dallas vs. Boston...

Who ya got? I'm going with the Mavs in 7.
Luka
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 5/31/2024 1:23 pm : link
is just insane. I think at the very least, I'd take this version of Luka over Peak Harden who was averaging 40 for months at a time and pushing the Durant/Curry Warriors in the playoffs.

Special young player. Boston has been the clear best team in the league this year but the Mavs could easily win this series. I think it comes down to how good a job White/Jrue do on Kyrie.
I think Dallas wins a long series.
bceagle05 : 5/31/2024 1:58 pm : link
Luka MVP but Kyrie gets another game-winner along the way to add to his Finals lore.

I’m leaning Mavs in 7.
Celtics in 6!
IchabodGiant : 5/31/2024 2:32 pm : link
Hopefully.
pretty much all of
Enzo : 5/31/2024 2:42 pm : link
Boston's main guys are battle tested and have made several deep playoff runs. Seems like Dallas has quite a few young guys in the mix. It might prove to be meaningless - but at the outset it's something to keep an eye on.

Then again, Dallas has the best player in the series. And he might be the best or second best player in the world. Sometimes those guys arrive and win a title a little earlier than you think.

Regardless, I'd like to see a long series with some drama.
Viewership is way down these playoffs
UConn4523 : 5/31/2024 4:45 pm : link
so book Atleast 6 games for the finals.
WTF? No game today.?
aquidneck : 6/2/2024 9:31 am : link
And nothing but night games all series long.

Anybody miss Sunday afternoon NBA championship games?
