NFT: OG considering other teams

Pete44 : 5/23/2024 1:25 pm
Per Jake Fischer of Yahoo sports, there was a belief at the combine that OG Anunoby will consider other offers.

AJR - please tell us this not true.

just not sure what direction the Nets want to go. The smart thing is obviously to blow it up.

The best case for the Nets is the Rockets want Bridges so they can get their picks back but after Jalen Green's emergence to end the year who really knows.

If not I guess they sort of have to just try to get better?

Yeah the Nets are confusing, their owner says he wants a long term build but their GM always talks about adding stars

I am very skeptical of this. I think the fit is iffy and both sides know it. Seems like there is really momentum for him to stay and re-tool in Cleveland. Maybe they get Johnny Bryant too.

I'm looking at a Garland for Ingram swap.

Mitchell-Ingram-Mobley is an interesting core as is Garland-Trey-Herb-Zion

I jist cant see Mitchell signing long term in Cleveland unless they trade for a star, he kNows him and Garland doesnt work and he knows the Mobely/Allen frontcourt doesnt work..

They traded their future firsts in the Mitchell deal, i just dont see Mitchell staying there

If I had to bet, Mitchell reups with the Cavs & then asks for a trade in 2025 or so.
I think Brons and Mitchell could really make it work
nygiants16 : 5/27/2024 10:18 am : link
because both can play off the ball, both can shoot the 3 off the catch very well..

Definitely would need to add another 3 and d wing but i think you can absolutely make it work, especially offensively

Chris684 : 5/27/2024 9:13 pm : link
A 3 way deal involving ATL, Knicks and BK.

Knicks get bridges
ATL gets Randle and Finney Smith
BK gets Trae Young

Also saw Randle and a pick as well as a future pick swap for Markkenan.
Saw something on twitter from Brett Seigel
nygiants16 : 5/27/2024 9:24 pm : link
Basically Knicks wont let OG walk if it comes down to it they will give him the max
.

Also if needed they will trade Randle to either save money or in a star trade..

They value OG more than Randle

Two favorite playoff moments so far….

1). Donte’s game-winning three in Game 2 against Philly.

Its kind of crazy because Haliburton is a great player but what does he do so much better than Nembhard? passing?

Pacers made it to the ECF bit i feel like they need big changes still

And we saw Sacramento trade him for Sabonis, put the ball in Fox’s hands, and immediately go from bottom feeder to playoff caliber team. My dislike of him aside, he’s a difficult guy to build around - bad defense, no midrange game, not great at the rim, doesn’t get to the FT line.

Yup, he is flashy so he will get the highlights on espn and hyoed up by wanna be analysts but if you sit down and watch him play, he has a lot of holes..

and his biggest issue? The fact he is a front running nozzle, dances on the court and talks a lot when he is winning but when the team needs him or is losing, he is nowhere to be found

Assuming Bogie
Jon In NYC : 5/28/2024 8:57 am : link
doesn’t get traded for a star, one trade I saw on twitter that I actually kinda love is Bogie, a first this year and one of the protected picks for Colin Sexton.

Steps right into the IQ role that they never really replaced. Hes a character but I think he fits into the mentality of this team.
Man, I hate the Celtics, but I am happy to see the Pacers gone.
Matt M. : 5/28/2024 9:39 am : link
You had Pacers fans and other non-Knicks fans and pundits trying to say the Knicks' injuries can't be an excuse; they are part of the game. Then Haliburton hurts his hammy and it's an excuse. For the Knicks, it wasn't one injury. It was 4 or 5 or 6. For all the talk about Thibs not playing the bench, the options on the bench really shrunk as the year went on. They lost their starting C in the first month. They lost their All Star PF mid-way, just when they were rolling. They lost Brunson for a couple of small stretches and he was banged up for most of the post season. They lost their newly acquired SF for a number of games due to a pre-existing injury that required surgery and then lost him for the remainder of the Pacers series essentially, then lost their former 6th man thrust into a critical starting role at the end of that series, and then lost Brunson likely for the remainder of the post season if they continued. Not to mention, Bogdonavich lost for the playoffs also. How are you supposed to overcome ALL of those injuries?

He was the guy I wanted at the deadline, I agree he’s perfect for the IQ role. Utah is a pain in the neck to deal with on trades, as we learned a few years ago, but I would love this addition. We need a little more scoring punch off the bench.

Knicks need to find a dhnamic partner for Brunson, i like Randle i just dont think he is the dynamic scorer to play off of Brunson, especially in the playoffs..

I know the fit is iffy defensively but you can make it work, go get Mitchell and form a dynamic duo

Forget it. Ainge is trying to build a young winner. Why would he trade a good player in his prime for a guy who’s 35 and near the end?

I think Sexton could potentially be a good fit here. And you kick the can forward in terms of having another mid sized contract on the books to use down the road. I think Utah will want at least one unprotected pick for him though.

It’s not about Bogie it’s about the picks. Bogie probably would get cut since he’s only 2 mil guaranteed.

I'm leaning towards rolling the dice on Mitchell - and paying what would certainly be a big price to get him. To me he moves the needle a LOT more than a guy like Bridges. Ideally we get him without giving up Randle and DVD/Hart. But I don't know if that's possible. And Cleveland, if they decide to trade him, is likely going to prioritize getting a wing in return.

I get it. He’s not going to do that for the 25th pick and a protected first. He wants opportunities for future picks to turn into lottery picks. Think 2 future unrestricted picks, plus two unrestricted swaps. His demand will be something close to that.

Only if they really want to bottom out. It is worth noting that if you expect him to leave his value will only go down the closer he gets to FA. Not too dissimilar to Donovan.

Even if that’s true, Ainge is under no immediate pressure to trade Sexton. He would have every reason to stretch trade negotiations out for months as he did with Mitchell. The Knicks need to move bogdanovic by the end of June . The dynamics are not in the Knicks favor.

Stretch it out and the main buyer then can’t offer you anything which I don’t think makes sense.

and he is 35 and he likes to pace himself during the regular season, but he would be an absolutely perfrct fit for this team..

On and off the court he is a fit, he has played for Thibs before, he has that same mentality as the Nova 3, he plays defense, he can score..

He wouldnt be my first choice or even my second choice but if it comes down to it i wouldnt mind it..

Brunson, Divencenzo,Butler, OG, Hartenstein..

Deuce, Hart and Mitch off the bench..

That is a team no one would want to play

playing for Thibs Butler's first few years in the league. He swears Thibs made Butler what he is. Was real tough on him, made him earn every minute. It sounds like a tough love kind of thing. Butler is a horrific fit for this team right now. He doesn't buy into that give it 100% every night especially in the regular season dog mentality at all. Plus I do not seeing him meshing well with another ball dominant superstar like Brunson at all.

Butler is the definition of dog mentality, does he pace himself? 100% but if the Knicks want to make a run to a championship they are going to have to start pacing themselves as well..

and thats not me blaming Thibs for anything, last year was a crazy year with injuries but if this team wants to get to where they want and are as good as we hope, they need to atart pacing themselves especially towards the end of the year
