It's my understanding that these OTAs are non-contact sessions. Watching the clips, you can clearly see contact in the trenches. Does "non-contact" just mean "no pads"?

Contact work is prohibited in all workouts (e.g. "live" blocking, tackling, pass rushing, bump-and-run, etc.) Intensity and tempo of drills should be at a level conducive to learning, with player safty as the highest priority.

Thanks, There's certainly a huge grey area. If you watch the video Eric posted, there is definitely blocking and pass rushing happening. Certainly no tackling, and you really couldn't see if there was contact with the receivers.

isn't practicing and neither are Neil or Thomas. Those are three tackles not available. Likely why Ezeudu was at tackle. I'm sure he'll be at Guard soon.
Sticking Eluemenor at G and not tackle whatsoever. I hope Nelson is able go turn around and earn a spot. He's the swing tackle in mind who's had the experience.
Also during the Raanan interview, Bobby Skinner said he read Aaron Stinnie was in at RT too. I don't think he's ever played OT in the NFL.
Ezeudu is a former 3rd rounder who honestly should be getting reps and MOST of his reps at Guard. Not playing musical chairs like last year. This is on Daboll.
If he wasn’t getting those reps with the starters at OT, he would not have gotten any. Our two FA signings are the starters at this current point. Would you rather a guy with no chance to make the roster seeing reps with starters and Ezeudu on the side watching?
What makes us so sure he isn’t our swing tackle? They wanted him to win a guard spot last year and he didn’t do it.
That's probably why they drafted him, his versatility but we haven't seen him stamp down on position yet. They tried to practice with him at LT in mini camp '22, so Daboll has had it in his mind to make him as extensive as possible. It's going to be bad if he's the team's LT this year. Kind of concerning if you ask me, but hey. Just my opinion on the matter.
The fact they haven't used Jermaine Eluemunor at all at RT is also something to keep an eye on but Bricillo knows he can play there. I can't buy them using the 5th T like Cajuste there rather than Eluemunor if a game were coming up.

This displays an complete lack of knowledge about how NFL teams are run. Daboll DOES NOT run the OL line drills or make those decisions- he likely observes them closely- but the OL coach and his staff design the drills, select who runs them and makes decisions based on them.
For the life of me, I cannot understand fans who know little about what they are talking about spout off like they are experts.
The OL coach is new to the team and likely most of the players and wants to find out who has promise at which spots. Many of these players were brought in because of positional flexibility.
Just because they are running in drills with no meaningful contact in May doesn't mean that's where you will see them in July/August. The coaches need to know what their guys can and can't do before mixing and matching.
If anything, this is pretty smart- you don't need to waste valuable time when full contact is allowed in July and August mixing and matching when you can do it in shorts and skulls in May.

He’s currently the #1 backup at LT. how do you come to that conclusion off of 1 spring practice?

hes not a T, he should be playing G and every available snap/practice/time should be spent making sure he can be a successful G.

I had the same question.

if they were doing this with 5th/6th round pick i would not bay an eye.
but ezedeu is entering his 3rd year already, he needs to find a home.
I'd want NO part of the "26" jersey number - It's like putting a big target on your back.
Unless he takes it as a personal challenge to force every Giants fan to ask - "Saquon who?" If can make me say that, I'll be his biggest fan.
