I have faith that the staff does deep evaluation dives into the games and keeps a close eye on practices.
Will Kakko be back? Is this a time to bring back Wheeler? Does Brodzinski give us Roslovic's speed but with more grit? Does Rempe play in an away game where matchups are in FL's control? Do we sub Jones for Gustafsson for a bit more play making and better puck control?

My opinion is that Gus and Rempe stay in the lineup. I would believe that Vessey is out and probably Kakko comes back. We shall see.

The Rangers are 9-3 these playoffs, you're not going to see any major changes. With Vesey out today that gets Kakko back in the lineup. I think the only decision to be made is, does Lavi keep Rempe in there? Or does he get Wheeler back in the lineup? I'd be good with either. Panthers are tough and lay hard hits, see Vesey being week to week with a shoulder injury. So having Rempe in there makes sense. But if Lavi doesn't trust Rempe enough defensively in a tough road game with FL getting last line change, then this could be the perfect opportunity to get Wheeler back in and see what he could do.
It is listed as start time. Puck drop I'd guess not long after. IOW it's not a 3:30 puck drop after 30 min pre-game nonsense. it may be 3:10 or something though after anthems, etc..
RE: It will be interesting to see what changes are made.
Will Kakko be back? Probably, but maybe on the 4th line.
Is this a time to bring back Wheeler? No. He's old and slow and that is not a good combination.
Does Brodzinski give us Roslovic's speed but with more grit? Yes. Roslovic stinks
Does Rempe play in an away game where matchups are in FL's control? I have joked about the legend of Matt Rempe, but he did what the team needed for him to do, bang bodies, forecheck, be responsible in his own zone. He did all that.
Do we sub Jones for Gustafsson for a bit more play making and better puck control? No. Gus is a more physical player, is more seasoned and is good offensively. At this point and especially against this team, Jones is only an injury replacement.
would want to see Brodzinski in the lineup. He's a career AHLer. He had the best season of his career this year with 19 points in 57 games. Roslovic has never had a season with that little point production. Why anyone would want Brodzinski in there over Roslovic is beyond me.

Expectations. You don't expect a lot of offense from Jonny B. What you expect is some forechecking, some hustle and getting the puck deep. For the most part, he does that. The expectations for Roslovic are for more offense. His offense isn't better than Jonny B without the forechecking and hustle.
Yes we are 9-3 but 4 came VS the worst team in the playoffs.
We can't keep relying on Shesty as savior. The offensive production by our D, including getting the puck out of our zone, has really fallen off. Partly due to Fox's probable injury. I hold my breath every time Trouba has the puck on his stick in the D zone. Gus has not played at the level when he subbed for Fox. Maybe it's age-related stamina?
Jones played well and showed he is not a liability in the D zone. He excels at getting the puck out. Pair him with Trouba and reunite Miller and Schneider.
Vesey in the lineup. Look at option 3. That was my crazy option for game 2 to change the lineup. Maybe the author was reading that thread from two days ago. Options for replacing Vesey - ( New Window )
has faced more scoring chances than Shesterkin, right?
In the moneypuck simulation, the Rangers win game 1 ~60% of the time. However, as we all know if you don't score you will lose 100% of the games you play, so Igor's goalie play was made irrelevant by the lack of scoring, but sometimes stats provide context and help frame what you're seeing.
Both games so far (in this two game series) the Panthers have had 2.3 or less xGF). The Rangers have done a really good job of allowing zone time without allowing scoring chances. So much so, it may be part of their play. Keep everything to the outside. clog up the middle. block shots and transition.
Igor is playing great, but he's has not been a "savior" in fact you could argue in game 1 he did more to hurt the team than help them (beyond what he is expected to do). He had a negative expected goals saved in game 1.
Igor basically stole game 3 vs CAR (3-2 OT win) and played really well in games 1 and 2 vs CAR (above expectations) since then he has mostly made the saves he's expected to make.
- can't help but think that continuing to allow so much defensive zone time will, sooner or later vs very good teams, bite them in their arses, esp. with Fox now on the cusp of being a liability. JT always a wild card and Gus has a lot of wear. Heavy burdens on KAM, Schneider, and Lindgren (see Gus). I think we'll see Jones sooner or later.
- Wheeler? heh, he didn't exactly set the 'first line' on fire when healthy. He went, what ~ 20 games before notching a goal? We saw his play, he is slow. Being slow, he's not great on the backcheck. His experience is 'bout only thing going for him.
- agree w/ most what BC and Gmen say
- Kappo, for jiminy crickets' sake!! Look at the GA stats Greg posted on Friday. He set up the Schneider breakaway with a perfect pass from his BL and set up a score vs CAR with a similar outlet, iirc. Maybe Lavvy wants to see more fire, more aggression, from him, there is a phlegmatic aspect to KK's game, but he's strong on the puck and defensively 95% responsible, which puts him right up there with Trocheck and a bit ahead of Laf. Roslovic shows me very little at this stage of the game.
- will be interesting to see how Maurice deploys his lines vs ours with last change. I'm looking for Cuylle to do some stuff: he has been so close, so often these playoffs.
- Zib, Kreider, Panarin ??? You never know but the team needs something more from them, a lot more. Gotta hope '24 is not '22 and '23 redux.
- pj, yeah, 3:10 sounds about right. Got to meet friends for early dinner and requested a table near the bar TV. Life of the party (:
And drew penalties that's the way you beat Florida.
Gotta stay physical and let them make mistakes but we need to get the power play going it's what got us here.
We need speed on the ice and play fast they will commit stupid penalties.
I get that (speed), and between Wheeler and Roslovic, I'd probably go the same way. He's certainly more game fit than Wheeler, but dang he has to be willing to check with more than his fly by stick. Drury's adds this year have been so underwhelming.
and Wenberg we’re both good in the OT Friday night. Seemed to find some chemistry as the game went along. Hopefully we see more of that today and hopefully KK in for Vesey.

I agree with this approach.
Instead, stupid pass, stupid turnover took a penalty and Florida leads 1-0
When he got worked during the penalty or the goal?

Yes, he didn’t react and just stood there
Yep. Rangers are in trouble. Florida gets it to two goals and I doubt they'll match that.
We all know he is injured
Panthers taking advantage of it
