The Giants have several players with possible upside… They need a 3rd Technique to pop!
Hard to be optimistic about the current candidates - Ryder Anderson, Casey Rogers, and Elijah Chatman. The biggest long shot, Chatman, might be the most intriguing, and that’s not saying much. The staff seems to like Anderson. Rogers’s $220K guarantee suggests he is ticketed for the practice squad.
Assuming Lawrence, Thibodeaux, Burns, and Okereke stay on the field, the dime package probably has Ojulari as the fifth man up front. The nickel might have McFadden as the sixth. So unless one of the 3-tech DL steps up in a big way, they won’t get many snaps.
That's the nature of the NFL, and late round picks in particular.
Is it possible? Sure. And if you ask this question about every rookie every year (like DeVito being the next Brady last year, for example), you're bound to get one right eventually. But a broken clock is right twice a day and never worth looking at.
… it’s worth noting that he’s significantly younger than Rogers or Anderson. FWIW, he’s also younger than Tyrone Tracy. That doesn’t mean he will get better, or stay healthy. It’s just a reminder that he belongs on the list of candidates to “pop”.
Often, in pre-season, a late round pick impresses. Sometimes they end

Except that Ojulari’s career looks like it’s flatlined at a low level. Declining number of sacks year over year and very few tackles in 2022 and 2023. My theory is that Ojulari knew his body was giving out his last year at Georgia and declared early so he could make some money before his athleticism collapsed due to injury. His history so far doesn’t contradict it.
... is that Day Three picks get immediate opportunities. Aside from obvious, key roles for Nabers and Nubin, the door is wide open for all four of the other draftees: Phillips in the slot, Johnson as TE2, Tracy as part of the RBbC, and Muasau on specials.
Gray should have an edge on Tracy as RB2, just based on time in the system and at the position; but it's a small edge and could close quickly. Of course, they might both suck.
one thing for sure is JS and DB have continued to add speed and athleticism to the roster at skill positions, odds are one of them will pan out to some level of "steal" or special player.
Are way too high for some posters. He’s a UDFA. He wasn’t overly productive in the Ivy League but has speed. He’s a lotto ticket.
What is the expectation of a jacked up RB (27 reps on the bench) with 4.27 speed AS A KR under the new kickoff rules? You do realize how many kickoff returns will be occuring this year under the new rules?
RB Dante Miller. He starred at Columbia, had an extra year of eligibility for some reason (Covid?), transferred to South Carolina, was declared ineligible for the draft for some reason, and signed with us as a UDFA. As noted - a lot of speed, but unproven at a higher level.

He missed a lot of time due to some BS regarding his transfer and red shirt status which messed with his ability to accrue playing time. He was unable to declare for the draft due to red tape but when he found out he had been a free agent for a year already, he was able to work out at his pro day and caught the attention of more than a few teams. The Giants just happened to figure out first that they could just offer him a contract.
He would have been the fastest RB in the draft with a 4.27 40-yd dash and the strongest RB with 28 reps on the Bench Press. Expectations are high for this kid because he COULD be the NFL equivalent of tripping over a box full of 100 dollar bills while walking to work. Could the bills be counterfeit? Sure. But if they aren't, it's a major improvement to your current status and it costs you nothing!

Kind of. He wasn't eligible for the draft or playing in 2023 because of Ivy League transfer BS so no telling how teams really viewed him. Considering he graduated from Columbia the Giants probably had an advantage of where he chose. He probably would have been a late rounder if things didn't get so fubar.

The TE, Ford Wheaten, throw in Turbo.....

If neither earns the FO’s trust, they could look at some trade/cut candidates like Khalil Herbert or Miles Sanders
You're saying Hyatt is a bust?

He doesn't even hold a candle to the future HOF receiver Jalin Hyatt.
You're saying Hyatt is a bust?
No, I'm saying Hyatt is going to be the best player we've seen in our generation for us.

Between 100 and 10,000 career yards? Bold prediction!

he looks like an ideal 3rd-down back.

He was first team Ivy and team MVP.
