In my view cap health isn't measured in how dollars you do/don't have -- it's measured in whether you're paying a fair wage for the expected performance of players.
Make no mistake, this is Schoen's plan. He has highly paid players (either via draft level, extension, trade or UFA) all over the field.
If Nabers, Banks, Thibs, Neal, Okereke, Burns, Thomas, Lawrence, and Jones are very good players -- the Giants are in terrific cap shape.

Not sure where that stands amongst other NFL teams, but certainly not something I expected.
