a great platform to get behind the scenes on the offseason. Im stoked seeing this and the teaser with Bowen.
The Jones recovery being pushed and possible trying to paint Saquan as an antagonist. Wonder how much Giants control the narrative but either way sign me up
I was at the 100th event and Daboll and Schoen talked about it. Daboll said when he really wanted to get into detailed stuff that he didn't want the cameras to catch, he would play music loud on his phone because he knew it would mess up the audio and the copyright would force HBO to scrap it (pretty funny).
But the bigger thing was Schoen was asked if he had final editorial control, he said "yes, we do". So everything you see, the Giants want out there. If they want to bury Saquon and show they tried to negotiate and he left them to go to Philly, they are doing it for a reason.
There's no cancelation fee for these. Just subscribe for as long as it takes you to watch the show and then cancel it. You could probably find another streaming subscription to cancel while you're using Max, and then you'll be more or less cost neutral.
If it's any consolation, it wouldn't be any different under the old cable setup. If you didn't already have HBO, you'd have to subscribe to it for Hard Knocks. This isn't some new problem.

I'm somewhat joking. I pay for shit I forgot about for a while. I might still have an HBO subscription.
Can't wait to see this!
FYI
The five-part original series debuts TUESDAY, JULY 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on Max with new episodes debuting subsequent Tuesdays through July 30.

instead of "two 2nd rounders and 29-30 mil"
just one 2nd and 5th and 28 mil.....
My memory may be off, but I think when I was originally told this deal may be coming down the pipe, two #2s were mentioned.
Could have been that was the original demand of Carolina and the Giants wanted to see the price Burns wanted before agreeing to anything. If Burns suddenly would be had for $20M then the Giants might have been willing to give up a higher second pick than a 5th as an example.

Probably why they agreed to do it. PR move.
RE: wow a couple things in that trailer piquing my interest
Saquon might be the most overrated Giant of the last decade plus. Yes, he was spectacular in '18, but he was often injured & even in '22-when he was great-he had some 'WTF?' moments.
Even though it will be highly edited I'm sure, just the smallest of peaks behind the curtain is very exciting.
was presumably asking him to give them a chance to match whatever offer he got in FA.
i think this offseason hard knocks is going to be way more interesting than training camp.

Maybe they thought the Giants would take Penix?

Schoen said that with the HBO camera right in his face. He definitely wanted people to think he wanted Saquon back.
Cannot wait.

Eh, when people know they are being filmed, I don't always trust what I see

The usual voice of reason.

We also know this would be edited to try and create some drama. Regardless, interesting nugget about Saquon, and excited to watch this

I thought the exact same thing
they offered him 13 mil
Quote:
We had two years to offer him 12 mil+ per season and we didn’t. Sometimes it’s best for all sides to move on.

Source?
I wonder what (if anything) they'll show about the possible trade up with the Patriots. I imagine it's in the Giants best interest to downplay that.
