I used to think Miracle on Ice was the greatest upset and it is the greatest sports upset but it pales in comparison.
Then I thought Thermopylae and that was miraculous but the American Revolution is the biggest upset IMO.
In retrospect, if certain things changed even slightly by seconds or less in some cases the whole thing could have ended (the wrong way) - the weather, bad judgment, some say divine intervention, regardless of the why, it sometimes the magnitude of the long odds of winning American freedom doesn't get the proper reverence it deserves.

You'd have to have your head in the sand to think America is the only great country or the undisputed #1. But we're certainly still in the top 5. There can be more than one great country, depending on how you define great. Just don't look at our math scores. :)
