19 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assist and 2 steals
and they beat the Liberty 83-78.
entertaining but frustrating as well watching so many missed layups. Clark could have had at least another 5 or 6 assists
Also in fairness, Angel Reese is doing very well now too.
These two will be the Bird vs Magic for some time in the NBA
The only difference being that Clark is a consummate professional while Reese is a jealous, excuse-making trash bag. And of course…Clark also being the better player.
CC is like a mixed blessing for the WNBA. She brings so much to the league attention wise, but it also highlights just what awful hands so many of these women have. I mean the montage of clips of these bufoons fumbling her half court Magic Johnson level dimes are comical. People focused on her scoring in college, but she truly is one of the top passers in the history of the women's game.
Half the time I have no idea what her coach is doing. In this game, CC was red hot to start the game, scored like the first 9 points and then she sits here. Not sure why you'd sit someone who is firing hot. She came back and was never hot again.

Some of it is about Indiana specifically. The reason they had the first pick to draft Clark with is because they were the worst team in the league over the 2 previous seasons.
I don't think I've ever witnessed so many shot clock violations ever
It's nothing like Bird and Magic to me - Clark is somewhat reminiscent of Bird but Reese is in no way reminiscent of Magic. More likely Charles Oakley.
RE: RE: RE: RE: Her coach is certainly no rocket scientist
is less an accomplishment for Caitlin Clark and more of a testament to how fucking awful the WNBA is. First time in almost 30 years? Really?
NBA games are 20% longer (48 vs 40 minutes) which makes it an easier feat to accomplish.
WNBA rookies are also have to start their rookie seasons immediately after the college season ends - the WNBA season starts before players graduate. Some teams actually hold brief ceremonies at games to present rookies their diplomas. The upshot: WNBA rookies are worn out with no off-season or time to trasition.
As others have said - if they could actually catch a pass her assist totals and their points would be highly elevated. She makes so many good passes that her teammates bobble or cant convert on easy looks it is crazy
It is 1 of the reasons she is so popular with NBA players - she can make passes to teammates that most players in NBA cant make.
box score earlier and she’s basically doing everything with Boston in foul trouble. Probably won’t get the rebounds but may get close to another triple double,

She changed the starting lineup for no reason and didn’t make a single adjustment to Washington’s back door game. It’s been brutal.
Clark has been unreal all game. You’re down 5 with 20 seconds. Side line out of bounds. Who do you run the play for? The player who was 0-7 from downtown and Clark never touches the ball.
she isn’t quite the best player yet, but once she gets used to the physical part a bit more, she will be. Still can’t believe they left her off the Olympic roster, would a blunder.
And they missed a ton of gimmes and WIDE open threes. She could’ve easily flirted with 30 assists.
Lost to a horrible team though. Missed way too many open shots (CC too), especially in the first half. Coach left Boston on the bench too long in the fourth quarter.
If Clark gets to play with good players at some point
Like greats like Aja Wilson, Turasi, Sue Bird, Candace Parker, Sheryl Swoopes go to she could easily be the best player the league has ever seen. Not putting her on the Olympic team with the best in the league is a huge mistake. She easily could be the best passer I've seen since Magic Johnson.
RE: RE: Clark sets WNBA single game assists record (19)

Maybe, but was in a tough spot as she got in foul trouble early. Dallas really balled out this game, they played way above their record.
A lot of missed shots. She set up a bunch of open 3s that didn't fall, but there is one in particular that stands out to me. Near the end of the 1st Q she threw a dime from half court in the key hitting a forward perfectly. No dribble needed. Go right up and...miss the uncontested layup.
I also notice that most of the time when she passes off, not an intended pass to get it right back, but a legitimate pass to a teammate, she almost never gets the ball back again that possession. They don't ever circle the ball back. Just one of many things wrong with this coach. Her substitutions are questionable and as many have pointed out, her in game coaching is terrible. It seems every crucial TO in a close game they come out with a play designed for anyone but Clark. She doesn't have to get every inbound play, but never? And, not even used as a decoy?

I think it was two or three games ago, CC comes out and is the only player hot. She scored like the first nine points and had some assists. What does the coach do? She takes her out of the game for a few minutes. Why on earth would you put your only productive player on the bench when she's that hot? When she did come back in the game she struggled to get back into the rhythm.
They also have some players that just don't think. There was a spot last night where Nalysa Smith got the ball and tried to lead a break, up court by herself. She ends up losing her handle on the ball and it goes out of bounds.
Sides is absolutely an abomination of a coach. Horrific. Keeping Aliyah Boston on the bench from the 3:30 minute mark to the 6 minute mark in the fourth with only 3 fouls was a disgrace. You get 6 fouls in the WNBA!!!
The best part is she takes Clark off the point for Wheeler when she comes in and Wheeler is good for a quick -7 or -9 in two minutes cause she can’t run an offense.
Her teammates absolutely stink shooting the ball and in critical moments she uses Clark as a decoy.

She doesn't even use Clark as a decoy half the time. She just doesn't run a play that even involves her. One thing I've seen of Clark's game this season that I didn't in college is the game off the ball. She has been excellent setting screens down low/in the paint to free Boston and other bigs.
Not only does Wheeler not run the offense well in general, but I find once Clark is off point, she rarely even gets touches.
that both Clark and Reese have done so well as rookies. Poor team records but both are setting records.
This WNBA All-Stars vs. Olympic team format for this weekend sounds interesting too, with all the talk about Clark being "snubbed".
The WNBA All-Stars should have a shot at winning that game. Some good players snubbed. Some of the veterans they went with for the Olympics are past their prime.
I think she set the rookie assist record after just 20 games.
Those jealous bitches are just in denial right now.

Have you seen Reese attempt a layup? It is not so much of a "layup" for her.

She really can’t do much else.

The Fever coach is terrible.
Well, perhaps she's under the weather? Lame, I know.

How this woman has a coaching job is truly truly baffling.
