NFT: Tom Hardy fans

Ridley Scott's "Taboo", only 1 season, is now available on Freevee.

Great show, moody, atmospheric, spooky. Tom Hardy at his best, I think.

can't believe they didn't bring it back. Or maybe he moved on.

Well, they did the first one in 2017, so it isn’t looking good for a follow-up. The episodes that are there are tied up at the end, though.
Doesn’t seem likely

Hardy is filming a bunch of stuff and Knight is writing the next Star Wars, among other projects.
That's a shame, Tabboo was really good

and written by him and his pops i believe. Very choked that there isn't likely to be a season 2.

They first said Hardy was taking time off to spend with his newborn (?) and then he had a couple other projects and then COVID happened and threw a monkey wrench in most of "Hollywood", but season 2 was supposed to be about their exploits in the US and Canada which I thought would be an awesome segue (but that was not definite).

From Wikipedia (which I am sure is not the latest):

Quote:
...Taboo was renewed for a second series in March 2017.[6] In November 2021, Knight confirmed that six of season two's eight planned episodes had been written, and the start of filming is contingent upon Hardy's schedule.[7] In May 2022, Knight earmarked the end of 2023 as a potential filming start date...

Some wiki content confirmed in GQ in March of 2023
Quote:
...Knight confirmed that “six of the eight [episodes] are written” for season two...

Never watched Devs I'll need to get it on my list, but Mr Inbetween was awesome.

I wanted to like that show, and Hardy

was an intense and bizarre character, but I found it hard to watch.
Loved that show.

Really a great character for Hardy. But Covid killed that series. He's got so many other projects. I think they could find an other writer that w/o him is dead.

Devs is a top 10 show for me. I've watched it several times, it has replay value due to the subject matter. Corporate espionage, quantum computing, the nature of reality and existence, and Nick Offerman as an eccentric tech billionaire.
That was a great show
