This is one of the best interviews I’ve heard from a Giants receiver
He explains why him and DJ have had a tough time in their careers together.
He responds to Patrick Peterson’s criticism of Daniel Jones.
He explains why he reported to minicamp instead of holding out.
He gives a breakdown of Malik Nabers and goes in depth as to why Daboll’s system is hard for rookies
He explains why the Giants will be tough to beat this year
He talks about how he knew Darren Waller was going to retire
He speaks on Hard Knocks and the Saquon situation
And that’s only half. Good listen.

I give Dan and Nick/Big Blue Banter kudos because they are and/or have become extremely knowledgeable about the game and evaluating players and play -- but I am getting to the point of not being able to watch most of the rest of them
The exact quote was:
"...There was..hmm. Knowing the whole situation the last 2 years...I just think that sometimes you leave a place and you want to see that place again, but on the other side. Sometimes the best way to do that is being in that division where they have to see you twice a year..... Sometimes wanting to prove to somebody played some part of wanting to play in Philly"
I dont totally disagree, there is always a money=respect involving work. However, the way Slayton said it, did line up with other observations on Hard Knocks regarding the relationship between Saquan and Joe. It all gives me a bit of Saquan being a little extra sensitive and feeling personally jaded and not just a money thing.
The Giants and Joe looked at this mostly from the business side. Joe does not want to spend money on one guy when he can spread the same money an the entire running back committee for good enough output. Where it seems Barkley has taken it bit more personal and feels jaded.
Just thought it was interesting tidbit.
This is right up his alley.
Wasn’t it reported that Houston offered him more than Philly?

no matter what anyone says -- it's about the money -- the sticking it to them stuff is just an add on

I would have to look that up, I don't remember what said at that time. However this does possibly line up with Hard Knocks when Joe heard that Philly was out. At first glance you could say that Joe got bad info, on the other side it possible that Philly was outbid and some one leaked to Joe they were out when in reality Barkley took less money to go to Philly.
I also want to disclaimer that Im not trying to start an Anti Barkley BBI hype train. I just find bit intriguing.
Agreed and easy to root for. Hope this whole WR crew stays healthy and kills it this year.
