He won’t find a better basketball fit than the Knicks, but he may want more money than the Knicks are willing to give him. He’s also turning 30 and had shoulder and ankle surgeries over the past year, so that hurts his trade value too.

Yeah, that's the thing. There's JB, Cam and Kolek, not to mention Deuce if you consider him a PG (which I don't really).
I will say that while I have nothing against Burks personally - seems like a good guy - I am happy that he signed with another team. Him as PG was just not good.
that the Knicks were counting on McCullar for anything this season but the knee still being an issue in Mid-July after initially feeling pain in February... not great.

that finish by Kolek for the first win seems to have set the tone for the next two games. He's a leader besides being a great passer and at least an OK shooter. His defense against real NBA PGs remains to be seen.

Jury is out on that but he can rebound and has a little bit of an offensive game. Hukporti is sort of like early Mitch - rebounding and D, almost no offensive game.
Rokas looks good, looked better and better as SL went on. We are not shallow at PG at the moment - JB, Cam, Kolek, Rokas and Deuce if you consider him a PG. One of Cam, Deuce or Rokas could be trade bait.
Dadiet looked quite good on D, quite bad on O. But he's 18.
Baugh, who I never heard of before this SL, helped his cause and should at least stick in the G League. None of the other no-names really stood out. And i wouldn't mind never seeing D. Washington play as a Knick again. Nothing against him, but he's a chucker and that's not what we need.

This assumes Thibs will stop playing drop coverage. Not sure he will. Though he should. Precious is good in a non drop drop defense. Hope they bring him back.

I do not know if you are right or wrong, but if you are right I don't think either Skap or Hukporti is that guy. Also responding to Ira - that's what I would have said too, but was talking today to our son-in-law (he's a very good basketball player and at least a little connected) and he says the Knicks think Sims can be the backup C. Sims is certainly more athletic about doing what nyg16 says. I have all the same reservations as you about Sims, just saying what I hear.
the Summer League, I think it needs some work before he plays against nba defenders. And, speaking of defense, Kolek needs a ton of work there. While I think he has a future in the nba, he may need a year of seasoning before he sees serious action when the games start to count.

I don't believe either of those numbers. He looks closer to 6'1". To me, it was striking how much smaller he looked than Rokas. I look forward to seeing him with the main squad. Either way, exciting player because the basketball smarts and hustle should absolutely play off the bench pretty quickly. Easy to imagine him as part of a bench unit with Hart that pushes the floor and finds layups and open 3s.
Like Brunson, he has short arms and he'll be a defensive liability in some matchups. But the Knicks have a switchy squad where they should be able to hide him somewhere defensively if it gets to be a problem.

Honestly, I feel like Rokas could help us more this year than Dadiet. But as soon as Cam Payne was signed, that basically meant Rokas wasn't getting a roster slot.
Knicks were smart, taking Dadiet is like taking a 1st rounder next year. He definitely has talent, needs to work on his shooting, his form is pretty good.
He seemed like a pretty good rebounder and passer, less raw than I thought. They could have a nice prospect as a 3 and D off the bench in the future.

assumption is Dadiet will shuttle back and forth, practice with the "big club" and play for Westchester. He's shown some intriguing tools but at the end of the day, pretty decent odds he's a chip they use to improve the team in-season.

Yeah keep in mind that the 2 big trades Ainge made 2 summers ago with Minny and Cleveland included the guys both teams drafted in the 1st rd a few months prior- Kessler and Ochai Agbaji. So maybe Dadier is a chip he'd like in a Kessler trade.

Played 22 MPG last season; 83% of his 7.1 FGAs per game were 3 pointers and he made 42.4%.
