Kid is but he’s been impressive though these first few games. Kolek is absolutely going to be the backup PG for the Knicks. I doubted him pre draft but it looks like I was wrong on this one. He has a good handle on the ball and when he’s playing with the Knicks he’s going to flourish passing the ball.
is 6'4" and only took 24 3's in the G league last season (13 games) shooting 29%, 31% in college from 3. Not many players can get away with being that size without an outside shot.

“Others are concerned about Randle going into this pivotal season with free agency looming and the challenges that may present. In addition, some decision-makers aren’t as bullish about the general fit of the current group.
This is from Begely, first time he has mentioned the thought of the Knicks moving Randle...
Randle and Mitch are definitely next up on the chopping block
I don't see how you replace Randle right now. There isn't another big on the roster with his combination of power and skill, other than OG but he already has his role, plus he's injured a lot.
Of course things could look different at the deadline, and they may not want to deal with Randle's free agency.
Kolek looks NBA ready, which is not to say ready to play major minutes.
Dadiet is a project, but that’s no surprise.
The two bigs look like camp invites and one may beat out Sims but neither is ready to be backup center on a good team.
Agree with those takes.
There's also McCullar, who hasn't played SL because he's still re-habbing, which also hurt him in the draft. Some projected him in Round 1 before the injury.
"While McCullar Jr. doesn’t project as a star at the NBA level he’s one of the more NBA ready players in the 2024 NBA draft and should be able to step in early in his career and contribute.
He’s a standout defender who can guard three positions and also plays really good team defense. He’s got good size and strength for a guard, although he isn’t an elite run/jump athlete.
He’s become a much better catch and shooter player and has really improved from downtown. Becoming a knockdown shooter will go a long way towards helping him have a long and successful NBA career.

Draft Projection - late first to mid second round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft"
People know my opinion of Randle over the years. I was all for moving him when his value was high. We obviously didn't and now I see the dumbest trades out there on social media. I see garbage in return. I'd much rather have Randle this year and lose him for nothing than do most of these dumbass trades and not have him this year.
I forgot what player or ex-player said this but if you trade Randle, then what are you getting in return. He basically said it is odd to see a top player traded for another top player at the same position. I'm not saying it is impossible but it is weird. And then people keep bringing Mitch up. We have no real backups to these guy yet I see dumb shit like both of them, McBride, and someone else for KAT. Get the fuck out of here with that.
He won’t find a better basketball fit than the Knicks, but he may want more money than the Knicks are willing to give him. He’s also turning 30 and had shoulder and ankle surgeries over the past year, so that hurts his trade value too.
Katz was a little skeptical about the extension this summer too.
Yeah, that's the thing. There's JB, Cam and Kolek, not to mention Deuce if you consider him a PG (which I don't really).
I will say that while I have nothing against Burks personally - seems like a good guy - I am happy that he signed with another team. Him as PG was just not good.
that the Knicks were counting on McCullar for anything this season but the knee still being an issue in Mid-July after initially feeling pain in February... not great.

BREAKING: Clippers are sending Russell Westbrook, second-round pick swap and cash to the Jazz in a sign and trade for Kris Dunn, per @wojespn
Westbrook is “expected to agree” on a contract buyout with the Jazz, clearing the way for him to join the Nuggets
had a report saying the Knicks checked in on Capela. Only two paths to make the money work there: Mitch trade or Randle trade. Both kinda suck for Capela unless we were able to get Jalen Johnson too. He's going to be really really good if he isn't already.

Could use Precious sign and trade to make up the difference
think it's going to be Kessler and they're just waiting for the Lauri trade to get done first.
They are definitely working or waiting on something, it may end up being Precious but you wiukd think if they arent working on something Precious of signed already
that finish by Kolek for the first win seems to have set the tone for the next two games. He's a leader besides being a great passer and at least an OK shooter. His defense against real NBA PGs remains to be seen.
At C, Skap looked halfway decent. Kind of the same question as with Kolek - are his feet fast enough to play D in the NBA, against stretch 5s? Jury is out on that but he can rebound and has a little bit of an offensive game. Hukporti is sort of like early Mitch - rebounding and D, almost no offensive game.
Rokas looks good, looked better and better as SL went on. We are not shallow at PG at the moment - JB, Cam, Kolek, Rokas and Deuce if you consider him a PG. One of Cam, Deuce or Rokas could be trade bait.
Dadiet looked quite good on D, quite bad on O. But he's 18.
Baugh, who I never heard of before this SL, helped his cause and should at least stick in the G League. None of the other no-names really stood out. And i wouldn't mind never seeing D. Washington play as a Knick again. Nothing against him, but he's a chucker and that's not what we need.
Not to be cruel to Mitch but both summer league are showing
Probably G League material.
It’s time to move on from Toppin IMO. He’s awful and not getting any better.
Just took a bad shot at a big moment too. Selfish.

[quote] has an injury of some kind. So he replaced a F. [/quote
Wat has impressed me about Baugh is his defense, which has been very impressive. His offense,at least for a game, caught up to his D yesterday!
I agree. Maybe he has some trade value as a part of a package to get a backup Center

Rokas with a sweet alley-oop to Hukporti
